Caudalie Vinosource Moisturisers: Soothing Hydration Powered by Grapes

Caudalie-Vinosource-review

Hi Guys!

I’ve got a gorgeous range of products from Caudalie to share with you this evening – this is Caudalie’s new Vinosource Moisturiser collection…

I wanted to recreate the feeling of pure joy when you bite into a grape packed with water and sweetness through the Vinosource Collection textures that are comprised with organic Grape water. For even more delectability, I chose a palette of pinks for the décor of the new range and signature organic Grape Water. I invite you to bite into life as if you would that sensational grape! – Mathilde Thomas, Co-founder of Caudalie.

The Vinosource range contains Caudialie’s famous Organic Grape Water, which penetrates the skin’s cells to saturate them with water. It’s also rich in anti-oxidant polyphenols and polysaccharides – intelligent sugars that capture water and keep it at the surface of the skin, as well as minerals that contribute to the maintenance and functioning of the skin barrier, leaving skin feeling soothed and moisturized.

Let’s take a look at the products –

Starting with the Moisturizing Sorbet – this is perfect for dehydrated and sensitive skin, it has a lightweight gel-cream formula that turns watery on with the skin, where it then soothes, moisturizes and strengthens. It has a light, refreshing scent including notes of mandarin blossom, lemon tree leaf, cucumber water and fresh mint. I’ve been using this on a daily basis for the last few weeks, and it suits my dry and often sensitive skin perfectly.

Next the Moisturizing Mattifying Fluid – you can probably guess by the name that this has been designed for those with oily complexions. This lightweight fluid fights shine by reducing excess sebum, leaving the skin feeling rebalanced, matte and velvety to touch. It contains absorbing and sebum-regulating Java tea leaf extracts and flax powder, as well as anti-oxidant grape polyphenols.

The Moisture Recovery Cream – is a cream designed to deeply comfort and nourish, leaving skin feeling soft, supple and comfortable all day long. It restores the hydrolipidic film and strengthens the skin’s barrier. This velvety and natural cream supplies dry skin with the exact dose of plant lipid nutrients required for the skin to feel nourished and soft.

And lastly the Riche Intense Moisture Rescue Cream – this is ideal for very dry skin, and for use on normal skin in harsh weather conditions. Described as first-aid skin care, this product nourishes skin deeply and protects it from drying out, it also restores the hydrolipidic film and strengthens the skin’s barrier. I went to Freddy’s Sports Day last week and managed to get a bit sun burnt on my face, this left my skin dry and dehydrated – especially on my nose and forehead. I’ve been applying this moisturiser ever since and it’s been a complete lifesaver – it sinks into the skin and moisturises SO well – I highly recommend this.

The Vinosource Moisturisers are £23.00 each, and available now at Caudalie.

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

New Releases from Rodial and Nip + Fab: Instaglam Compacts, Dragon’s Blood, & Bee Sting Pads!

Posted on July 11, 2016

rodial-nip-fab-products

Hi Guys!

The beauty buffs among you will know that Rodial and Nip + Fab are sister companies, with Rodial being the high end (and more expensive) older sister, and Nip + Fab being the fun loving younger sibling with mass-market appeal. Both brands are fantastic in their own right, and I wanted to show you some of their latest releases today…

Rodial have recently added two new items to their makeup range – the Instaglam Contouring Powder in Dark and the Instaglam Banana Powder…

Starting with the Instaglam Compact Deluxe Contouring Powder in Dark (£52.00) – I’m a massive fan of the original Instaglam Contouring Powder – you can see me wearing it here. It’s the perfect cool taupe contour shade for my fair complexion. Rodial are now offering the same fantastic product in a darker shade with reddish undertones, perfect for those with deeper complexions.

And they have also just launched their Instaglam Compact Deluxe Banana Powder (£52.00) – this multi-use powder is perfect to use as a matte highlighter, along with the Contouring Powder to enhance the shape of the face. The formula is wonderful for minimizing fine lines and imperfections for a shine-free complexion and a natural, flawless finish. The Banana Powder is also fantastic as a matte setting powder to help reduce oiliness, or perfect to use for ‘baking’ the face.

In skincare, I have their new SUPER ACIDS X-Treme Hangover Mask (£45.00 at ) – this is a triple action clay mask designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate and leave you with a radiant looking complexion. It contains Pronalen Fruit Acid to gently exfoliate and eliminate dead skin cells, Laracare helps to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and Biotilys Probiotic Technology to help mattify shine, improve hydration and boost radiance. This is the perfect ‘recovery’ clay face mask to revitalise tired looking skin and draw out impurities.

Now on to Nip + Fab, their Bee Sting Fix Toning Pads (£12.95 at )  really are amazing. Perfect for refreshing and cleansing, these pads contain Bee Venom which acts as a natural botox to increase blood circulation and plump the skin, whilst filling fine lines and wrinkles. Witch Hazel and Propolis repairs broken skin, tightens pores and deep cleanses the complexion of daily dirt, helping to boost skin clarity and the effectiveness of products to follow, and Allantoin provides a natural protectant for the skin and encourages cell generation.

The Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme (£14.95 at ) contain Nip + Fab’s highest level of glycolic acid (5%) as well as salicylic acid, to exfoliate the skin, refine pores, brighten the complexion and de-congest the skin through the improvement of the skin’s natural exfoliation process. It also includes Lactic Acid to remove dead cells and toxins from the skin, and Hyaluronic Acid for improved hydration.

And lastly the Dragon’s Blood Fix Hyaluronic Shot (£24.95 at ) – perfect for dry skin, this product is designed to intensely and deeply hydrate, leaving a soft, plump complexion. Dragons Blood is in fact a sap found in the Croton Lechleri tree in the Amazon, it works to protect and heal the skin from outside aggressions, preventing environmental damage and motivating skin cell regeneration, as well as inhibiting inflammation and reducing redness. The formula also contains Hyaluronic Acid to instantly plump the appearance of the complexion. I love that the Dragons Blood Hyaluronic Fix Shot can be used directly onto the skin, or mixed with other products for a double ‘shot’ of hydration and plumping action!

Little Known Box June 2016 Review

Posted on July 3, 2016

Little-Known-Box-June-2016-Review

Hi Guys!

Little Known Box is the latest company to jump on the beauty box bandwagon, and you can probably tell by the name, but they’re all about offering beauty lovers little known, niche and emerging brands to discover. You can take a look at their first box here, and June’s box arrived a couple of weeks ago. Here’s what’s inside –

  • Oxynergy Power Infuse Cushion Foam, 180ml worth £23.50.
  • Manna Kadar Beauty 3-in-1 Eyeshadow in shade Fantasy, worth £13.12.
  • PHB Ethical Beauty Anti Ageing Serum, 15ml worth £5.95.
  • Lucy Annabella Organics Treatment Oil, 15ml worth £6.00
  • In The Buff Mineral Makeup Loose powder Highlighter, full size worth £14.00
  • Creme of Nature Conditioner & Argan Oil sample sachets.

Total value of box = £62.57.

Ok so there’s a great selection of skincare and makeup products here, with a couple of full sizes, a couple of luxury sample sizes and two bonus sample sachets. Also, I’ve never heard of any of these brands before, so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in!

Starting with the Oxynergy Power Infuse Cushion Foam – this is a full sized bottle of cleanser, from French skin care brand Oxynergy. This is an ultra-smooth, mild yet rich foaming cleanser with amino acids and essential trace elements that’s suitable for all skin types – it also smells amazing! This is definitely a luxury product, and I’m really pleased to find it in this month’s box.

Next the Manna Kadar Beauty Eyeshadow in shade Fantasy – this is described as a 3-in-1 product, acting as a pearlized powder blush, highlighter and eyeshadow. The formula is just like a shimmer eyeshadow, and the shade, well I’ve just had a rather heated discussion with my other half as to what colour this product actually is. To me it’s a warm nude peachy beige – but it’s described as a Nude Blush Pink on the Manna Kadar site, and my other half said it’s pink too – of course they’re both wrong and I’m right 😀 This shade is perfect as an eyeshadow on my pale completion, it would be gorgeous as a highlighter on darker skin tones too.

Next is the PHB Ethical Beauty Anti Ageing Serum – as expected, this serum is designed to combat signs of ageing. It contains essential nutrients, antioxidants and omegas, as well as vitamin rich Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil & Rose to help rejuvenate skin, smooth wrinkles, reduce dark spots and promote a radiant complexion.

The Lucy Annabella Organics Treatment Oil in Orange & Marjoram – is a 100% organic oil that can be used as a daily body moisturiser, nightly on the face, or even as a hair treatment. It contains Juniper, Geranium, Orange and Camomile to create a serene scent designed to lull your senses and envelope you in tranquillity.  The exquisite aroma cocoons and supports you, encouraging mindfulness. The treatment Oil also utilises Argan, Avocado and Apricot Oils to infuse skin with antioxidant vitamins to deeply enrich and nourish without leaving a greasy residue.

And lastly the In The Buff Mineral Makeup Loose Powder Highlighter in Sunshine Glitz – now I must admit, the packaging doesn’t look too expensive and because of that I wasn’t expecting too much from this product – well that will teach me to judge a book by its cover. This was actually a really nice shimmery highlighter. Though powder formulas can be a bit messy and the shade Sunshine Glitz was a bit too yellow for my liking – I still really liked the product, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a golden / yellowy highlighter.

Overall I think this is a great second box. The brands included are all new to me, the products are all interesting as well as being of a really good quality, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next box!

You can buy a one off box for £14.99 or subscribe to save money at Little Known Box.

10 Products You Need in your Bathroom! Soap & Glory / Estee Lauder / Melvita & More!

Posted on June 27, 2016

products-for-your-bathroom-cabinet-this-summer

Hi Guys!

Summer is now upon us… well kind of. And I’ve decided it’s about time I have a clear out in my bathroom – out with the old and in with the fresh and new! I’m terrible for keeping hold of old products with just a bit left at the bottom, promising myself I will use them up properly before I bin them. It never happens though and I just end up with a bathroom full of mostly empty bottles. Tell me I’m not the only person that does this!

Anyway, I’ve been having a clear out and I thought I’d talk you through some of my latest bathroom additions…

soap-and-glory-shower-jelly-review

I was so excited when these fabulous new Shower Jellies from Soap & Glory arrived unexpectedly (£5.50 each at ) – I’d never even heard of let alone tried a shower jelly before, so I couldn’t wait to see what these were like. The jellies have a juicy gel like texture that quickly melts on wet skin, giving a lovely sudsy lather. They come in two mouth-wateringly juicy scented options too – Sweet Lime, and Pink Rose & Bergamot, both which also feature Soap & Glory’s Coolcapsuel-Smooth™ cooling technology.

must-have-bath-products-for-summer

Next, a few body care products –

The Melvita L’Or Rose Refining Scrub (£15.00 from ) combines Pink Berries and Rose Muscat Oil to exfoliate the skin, and it has a gel texture that transforms into a lovely rich cream on , leaving a delicate scent on the skin after use. I’ve just started using this and it has a surprisingly fresh and zingy scent, and I love that it leaves my skin feeling super soft and smooth.

And the L’Or Rose Firming Oil (£28.00 also from ) has the same zingy scent as the Refining Scrub. This oil combines Berries with Sea Buckthorn and promises to help visibly reduce the orange peel effect.

Though I’m sceptical that this will actually firm and make any physical difference to my skin, I’ve used it a couple of times already and it does make my skin feel lovely. It’s also worth mentioning that this product has been awarded ‘Best Slimming Product’ by Madame Figaro Magazine’s Beauté Stars Competition – time will tell if it works for me though.

Another body wash I’ve just started using is the Burts Bees Extra Energising Body Wash (£9.99 from Naturisimo) – I’m a big fan of energising scents when it comes to shower products, and this body wash contains Essential Citrus Oils and Ginger Root Extract to energise your skin as well as your senses, perfect for a morning wake me up shower.

And the Limited Edition Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Exfoliating Body Cleanser (£30.00 at ) is a must have for a spot of luxury in the bathroom. I was a complete Bronze Goddess virgin until trying this product, and now I know why everybody raves about both the fragrance and the range! This product not only smells divine, but it does a fantastic job of exfoliating and smoothing, leaving my skin looking fresh and healthy. I really don’t think this massive tube will last me very long!

must-have-tanning-products-for-summer

And lastly, tanning. When it comes to fake tan, I’m more of a special occasion tanner – I just don’t have the time for regular tanning and waiting for it to dry – so I look for products that are quick, easy to use and effective.

I have the He-Shi Day to Day Gradual Tan (£11.99 from Ideal World) – this product is perfect for gradually building a light tan for those with fair to medium skin tones – so it sounds perfect for me. The formula contains Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and Pro Vitamin B5 for rehydrating skin whilst including a subtle element of self-tan. The triple action lotion promises to absorb easily and help even out your natural skin tone, and it can also be used to maintain an existing tan by using between self-tan applications.

And the Vita Liberata Body Blur (£29.95 at ) which technically falls under the category of makeup rather than skincare, but this is all-over body makeup, which I would definitely keep in my bathroom so I’m including it here!

Vita Liberata’s Body Blur Instant Skin Finish is an instant HD body makeup that perfects skin by masking blemishes and reflecting light. I’ve only used this once so far but I love that it gives a natural looking tint and washes off when you shower.

And the Vita Liberata Illuminating Skin Finish Gold (£29.95 at ) – following on from the Body Blur, the Skin Finish is basically like a body highlighter, giving skin a lovely subtle highlighted sheen, perfect for using after the Body Blur for a night on the town.

And lastly the Zhuzhu Tan Accellerator (£15.99 at Ideal World) rather than a fake tan as such, this product is formulated and designed to stimulate the melanin in your skin whenever you are exposed to the sun, to speed up the natural tanning process.  It is a lightweight spray on formula that’s easy to rub in, leaving your skin moisturised without any stickiness. So I’ll just need to wait for some sunshine to see if this actually works!

Not that I need any more products in my bathroom now, but I’d love to hear if you have any recommendations for bath and body products that I should try? 🙂

What’s New at The Body Shop?

Posted on June 19, 2016

The-Body-Shop-Pinita-Colada-Collection

Hi Guys!

It seems like hardly a month goes by without a new collection being launched by The Body Shop – not that I’m complaining! Their latest products include wonderfully scented bath and body goodies to leave your skin smelling like a tropical summer holiday, as well as a matching fragrance and some fab makeup products too…

Years ago, upon returning from a trip to the French Polynesian islands, I brought back with me an incredible flower: the exotically iconic tiaré flower. I remember falling under a spell as soon as I smelled it – it was totally unique and rare. Since then I have wanted to create a facetted, sensuous but modern solar fragrance from this classic white flower. – Elise Benat, Perfumer.

the-body-shop-pinita-colada-body-butter

Starting with the Pinita Colada collection – the Body Butter (£14.00) and Shower Gel (£5.00) smell simply divine! The Body Butter is a rich yet lightweight cream, perfect for intensely hydrating normal to dry skin. And the soap-free formula of the Shower Gel promises to refresh and revitalise skin with a deliciously tropical scent.

the-body-shop-polynesian-island-tiare-perfume

The Polynesian Island Tiare EDT (£18.00) is a beautiful summer scent, floral, warm and exotic, it’s perfect for both day to day wear as well as balmy summer evenings.

At the top, a sparkling dash of juicy orange enhances the warm solar accents of a bouquet of sun-loving flowers – exotic Polynesian Tiaré blossoms, frangipani blossom and ylang-ylang at heart, warmed with a sensuous blend of creamy coconut and addictive vanilla for a luscious island scent.

the-body-shop-instaglow-cc-cream

The Body Shop has also recently launched some new makeup items – the Instaglow Bright Glow CC Cream (£14.00) is one of three new CC creams, suitable for fair, medium and dark complexions. Bright Glow for lighter skin tones offers SPF20 protection, whilst minimising the appearance of pores, reducing shine and illuminating the complexion. It works really well for a natural no-makeup look, or as an illuminating foundation primer.

And the Honey Bronze Drops of Sun (£12.00) – the easy way to fake that sun-kisssed glow we all love to have in the summer. You just blend one drop into a small amount of your daily moisturiser or foundation to keep your tanned look topped up, or even if you fancy a ‘one day’ holiday glow. Its matte-shimmer free finish makes your tan look natural, and it’s commitment free too as it washes off with your makeup.

the-body-shop-new-products

Though all these products are fantastic – as expected from The Body Shop. My favourite has to be the Polynesian Island Tiare Perfume. This scent is just gorgeous and yummy basically summer in a bottle – and not to mention a complete bargain at £18.00 for a 50ml bottle, or only £24.00 for a massive 100ml. You’d be a fool not to snap this up!

All products shown above are available now at .

Father’s Day Luxury Gift Guide – Fragrance, Skincare & Plants!

Posted on June 9, 2016

fathers-day-gift-guide

Hi Guys!

Father’s Day has managed to sneak up on us once again, so I’ve taken the liberty of putting together a few luxury gift ideas for you. There’s some gorgeous fragrances in today’s post, skincare products and even plants – enjoy!

paco-rabanne-and-acqua-di-parma

Starting with a gorgeous and reasonably affordable fragrance, this striking trophy shaped bottle contains Paco Rabanne’s Invictus (which is Latin for invincible) – it’s described as a fresh and sporty fragrance, representing power, dynamism and energy.

The fragrance opens with fresh grapefruit and a marine accord that leads to the heart of aromatic bay leaf and jasmine, and a woody base of guaiac wood, patchouli, oak moss and ambergris…

  • Top notes: Grapefruit, Mandarin Orange, and Marine Accords.
  • Heart notes: Bay Leaf and Jasmine.
  • Base notes: Guaiac Wood, Oakmoss, Patchouli and Ambergris.

Paco Rabanne Invictus is from £42.00 for 50ml EDT, and available now at .

And for the discerning gent, how about the Collezione Barberie collection from Acqua Di Parma? This collection contains products, treatments and accessories created for discerning men who are meticulous with their skincare regime. Men who project their individuality and style through the perfect shave or a perfectly groomed beard.

Acqua di Parma have just expanded its Collezione Barbiere collection with three new and exclusive products – a Revitalizing Eye Serum, a Beard Serum, and a Deluxe Brush & Razor Stand –

The Revitalizing Eye Serum (£39.00 for 15ml) is the perfect product to soften and soothe the delicate skin around the eyes. Its formula reduces signs of early ageing, and this combined with the delicate massage provided by the cool steel of the roll-on dispenser ensures a fresh and relaxed look around the eye. This fresh and elegant gel has a silky texture, it’s pleasant and practical to use, and it is quickly absorbed into the skin.

And the Beard Serum (£30.00 for 30ml bottle) its formula is fluid and light, enriched with sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil extracts that act in synergy for a deep soothing action. The result is a glossy, silky and smooth beard.

You can shop the Acqua Di Parma Collezione Barbiere range at  now.

beetle-trinket-tray

And how awesome is this Beetle Trinket Tray from ?  I love that it looks really fancy, but it actually costs only £10.00 – what a steal! Perfect for the dad that’s forever losing his keys, leaving piles of change laying around the house (like my husband does) and generally just needs a place he can put his bits and bobs.

clean-reserve-and-van-cleef-and-arples

I have a couple more gorgeous fragrances too – firstly we have Clean Reserve Smoked Vetiver. I initially received this to try myself, as I loved the sound of it, but even though this fragrance is for both men and women, I found it was too masculine for me – but my husband loves it!

Each Clean Reserve fragrance was created to be dynamic and evoke, not memories of the past, but possibilities and experiences yet to be discovered. Each is linear without much movement from top to bottom, making it ideal for layering and blending.

Smoked Vetiver has a smoky sweetness that’s fresh, inviting, and sexy. It’s light and fresh when worn alone, but can also be paired with Sueded Oud to transform it into an irresistible sensual experience.

  • Top notes: Lemon Verbena, Bamboo Leaf, Bergamot, Quince and Pear.
  • Heart notes: Cedar, Cotton Flower and Peony.
  • Base notes: Moss, Amber, Musk, Vetiver, Woody Notes and Myrrh.

Clean Reserve Smoked Vetiver is £79.00 for 100ml at .

And Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight Patchouli – this is the latest addition to the Collection Extraordinaire range, where each fragrance is dedicated to a single raw ingredient. Moonlight Patchouli is obviously based around Patchouli, which is both powerful and earthy – its scent releases a wonderful freshness that appeals to both men and women.

The fragrance opens with woody patchouli accented with cocoa, leading to a floral heart of Bulgarian rose and powdery iris. The base note reveals a suede accord, adding a leathery and fruity quality to prolong the trail…

  • Top Notes: Patchouli, Cocoa and Woods.
  • Heart Notes: Bulgarian Rose and Iris.
  • Base Notes: Suede, Leather and Fruit.

Interestingly, though this fragrance sounds quite feminine with the floral notes, on the skin, it actually offers woody and leathery notes for him, and a powdery floral signature for her, making it unisex in a very individual way, and therefore able to be enjoyed by everyone.

Moonlight Patchouli is £126.00 75ml EDP and currently available at .

focus-therapy-balm-review

Next, I have something a little different. I came across the brand Scentered on Space NK when I was perusing their sale earlier this year, and I noticed their Focus Therapy Balm – this is a stimulating balm to clear the head, awaken the senses and focus the mind…

Apply Focus Therapy Balm before an important meeting, event, sports match, exam, performance or whenever else you need to be mentally alert, fully present and engaged. Focus helps you adopt the right frame of mind to perform to the best of your ability.

It’s quite hard to describe the fragrance of this product, it’s quite herbal, with notes of Peppermint, Rosemary Leaf, Clary Sage, Spearmint and Bergamot, combined with a woody base of Cedarwood, Patchouli and Thyme. The product itself is a rich, nourishing balm that won’t leave your skin feeling greasy, whilst ensuring long lasting fragrance delivery. It aims to promote concentration and clarity of thought, wherever you are.

Scentered Focus Therapy Balm is £14.50 at

bloom-and-wild-succulents

And lastly, for those that love gardening and plants – this Succulent Trio from Bloom and Wild brings a bit of greenery into the home, and requires pretty much zero effort. The Jamie Trio of Succulents contains three succulents in a bed of moss, presented in a metal tray. They just need lightly misting with water once a week (with the mister provided) and Bob’s your uncle!

The Jamie Trip is £25.00 and will be available at Bloom & Wild from Friday 10th June.

So there we have it! I hope this post has given you some inspiration for Father’s Day gifts 🙂 xxx
