ARK Skincare New Hydration Injection Masque

Hi Guys!

I’ve been using products from the Age Maintain range at ARK Skincare for quite a while now, and I’m loving the effect they’re having on my skin. My complexion is far from perfect, and I do have annoying habit of touching my forehead which doesnt help, but that aside I’m beyond impressed with this collection and what it’s done for me. Overall my skin is definitely brighter, clearer and I have less blemishes than I did previously.

So I was really excited to find out that ARK have just launched a brand new product – the Hydration Injection Masque

ark-skincare-new-hydration-masque

Designed specifically to revitalise tired skin, the new Hydration Injection Masque is described as the perfect pick me up for skin which looks tired, stressed and lacking in radiance – yes this is definitely something I’d want to try on my skin!

I do love a good face mask as a treat for my often tired and dull looking complexion, but as I have sensitive, and I’ve just found out ‘very reactive’ skin, choosing a mask can be a bit of a minefield. It’s often just a case of if I don’t get a reaction then great, and if I do have a reaction I just have to deal with it – which isn’t ideal I know.

Anyway, I’ve used this mask a couple of times now and I can safely say my skin likes it, yay! No reactions here!

The product itself is semi-transparent, and has quite a thick consistency. I should also mention that this mask is part of the new Skin Perfectors range which targets specific skin concerns.

The Hydration Injection Masque contains active botanical Ingredients including an encapsulated blend of vitamins for maximum efficacy: Vitamin A to regulate collagen synthesis; Vitamin B5 for smoothness; Vitamin C to fade pigmentation and Vitamin E to prevent UV damage. Hyaluronic Acid Booster drenches skin with moisture, optimising the circulation of water through all skin layers and providing 24-hour protection against water loss, and Sugar Beet and Abyssinian Oil intensely nourish the skin for a h, luxury skin feel.

You’re advised to use it once or twice a week, and to apply a thin layer to cleansed skin whilst avoiding the delicate eye area. ARK recommend you use the product differently depending on your age, and remove with a hot cloth –

Teens and twenties: Leave on for approximately 5 minutes.

Thirties and forties: Leave on for approximately 10 minutes.

Fifties and onwards: Leave on for approximately 20 minutes. Can also be left on overnight for an intensive treatment.

If you’re on the market for a new skin plumping and hydrating mask, I’d definitely recommend giving this a go.

ARK Hydration Injection Masque, £35 for 75ml, and is available now from ARK Skincare.

We’re Going Camping!

Posted on August 13, 2015

Hi Guys!

Ok so I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not really the camping type. I’m more of a ‘take me to a luxury hotel and shower me with chocolates’  type. But in the spirit of family and adventure, I’m ready and willing to go on our camping trip, and have a great time while we’re there!

Just to explain, my other half has a brother who lives in Japan, he has a wife and kids out there and they’re coming over to visit! Fred is really excited as one of his cousins is a similar age to him so they can play together. I was informed the other day that we’re all going on a family camping trip when they arrive (after they’ve gotten over their jet lag obviously) I’m not sure of the details yet – and I’m pretty sure my husband isn’t either, but I know we’ll be in a tent (hopefully a nice one) and it’s likely to be in the middle of nowhere.

So I’ve been running through my head thinking about what we need to take, and trying to imagine every eventuality. Will there be toilets? I have no idea. Will there be shops close by in case we need anything? I don’t have a clue. I’m going to leave the planning and camping equipment side of things to the boys to sort out, and I’ll just concentrate on what Fred and I need.

Ok so apart from the usual clothes, food, drinks, toiletries etc, what else will I need to pack? Here’s my ‘Camping Survival’ list!

camping

Let’s start with my favourite thing – makeup! When it comes to makeup, I want to keep it minimal, with just the bare necessities in my bag. I’m not going to be spending much time at all on my makeup so I just want to take the bare minimum I think a BB Cream, small eyeshadow palette, eyeliner and mascara should do the job to keep me looking half decent without overdoing it.

I also need to take my . You may have seen this mentioned on the blog before, it really is my holy grail lip balm! The formula is a hydrating gel that contains fatty acids to prevent dryness and chapped lips as well as acting as a treatment to restore and replenish already dry lips. It’s really fantastic!

Continuing on the skincare route, I’ll also be taking my new Garnier Moisture Match Illuminating Light Lotion SPF20 – this weightless lotion contains Vitamin B3, Lemon extract and light reflecting pearls, to give a healthy-looking glow. Also containing SPF20 UVB sunscreen filters, the daily moisturiser protects as it hydrates without leaving any residue. And not forgetting my to remove makeup.

On the subject of sunscreen, I also have a fantastic La Roche Posay one, the Anthelios XL SPF 50 Comfort Cream has a super high SPF of 50, as well as being specially formulated for sensitive and sun intolerant skins. It’s just perfect for me and Fred!

camping-products-to-take

And next – wipes! Wipes are literally the handiest thing in the world to carry around with you. I’ve just started using the The femfresh Daily Shower Wash, but I have no idea if there will be showers available, so I’m covering all eventualities and taking some Freshening & Soothing Cloths just in case. They don’t really need much of an explanation, except that they have a specially formulated low pH balance for intimate, delicate and sensitive skin. And  too, they’re just an all-round handy thing to have – especially when travelling with kids!

On to hair now, I think dry shampoo is going to be a lifesaver for me, so I’ll be packing my  to banish any oily roots, and add body and texture when my hair needs it.

And lastly, in case of emergency I’ll be taking my , a packet of Paracetamol, and , just in case!

Have I missed anything important? Let me know!

New Autumn Launches From Pixi Beauty!

Posted on August 6, 2015

pixi-autumn-new-products

Hi Guys!

Last week I had a lovely little trip to London, where I had a fantastic facial treatment (keep an eye out for that post soon) and went to a couple of events in the evening. One of the events was for Pixi by Petra’s latest launches, which I was super excited about as I hadn’t tried anything from Pixi before!

Everyone will know Pixi for their famous Glow Tonic – which is on my wish list – but they actually have a massive range of skincare as well as makeup products too, and their Autumn launches include a generous selection of even more new products to add to their ever growing collection.

pixi-skincare-swatches

Ok so lets start with the H20 Skindrink (£24.00) and Beauty Sleep Cream (£24.00).

Is it actually possible for something to feel wetter than water? Well the H20 Skindrink really does feel like that! It contains green tea, rosemary and glycerin to rejuvenate, stimulate and trap moisture into the skin. For those with dehydrated / dry skin, or if you suffer with tightness, this is possibly the answer to your prayers. My skin absolutely loves this stuff, and I’d also recommend storing it in the fridge for a super refreshing moisture hit on a warm day.

The Beauty Sleep Cream is also another winner. This is a soothing and nourishing night treatment, with shea butter, chamomile and bergamot oil, to nourish, soothe and revitalise. This rich yet light-weight cream is designed to protect and replenish while you sleep, so you wake up with a beautifully restored and rested complexion. I love that this cream sinks in really quickly, and I’ve been waking up with super soft skin since I’ve been using it too!

pixi-24k-eye-elixir

The other skincare product I have is the 24K Eye Elixir (£22.00) which is designed to immediately soothe and cool the under eye area. I suffer with particularly dark and puffy under eye bags, so I’m always on the look out for products that can help reduce these. The formula contains actual gold, to stimulate circulation, peptides to plump fine lines, and raspberry to tone the skin. The meltal rollerball gives a fantastic cooling feeling on application, which really does refresh instantly. With long term use, the under eye are should be brightened and hydrated, and puffiness and fine lines should be reduced. Time will tell if this one works for me!

pixi-fibre-mascara

Next up is the Lengthy Fibre Mascara (£16.00) – I do love a fibre mascara, just because they usually work really well on my short and fine lashes. The Lenghty Fibre Mascara, is of course filled with tiny fibres, to help thicken and bulk up lashes. You can just see them on the image above. These fibres really are super fine and work fantastically well to thicken as well as lengthen lashes.

And the Endless Matte Lipstick in Rose Naturelle, (£14.00) Described as a ‘vintage lip tone rose’ Rose Naturelle is the perfect my-lips-but-better shade. The Endless Matte Lipsticks offer a demi-matte finish, which I’d have to agree with, it could also be described as a satin though, as well as long lasting, intense colour. They also contain peptides, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins C & E help to create fuller, smoother looking lips.

pixi-grey-eyeliner-review

pixi-grey-eyeliner-swatch

And finally the Endless Silky Eye Pen (£12.00) – which is actually a pencil, and a pretty awesome pencil at that! The Endless Silky Eye Pens are waterproof, smudge proof, and super-long-wearing. They have a super smooth and silky formula that glides on beautifully, as well as being paraben-free, mineral oil-free, preservative-free and hypoallergenic. Slate Grey is a brand new shade to the already large collection, and I love it! If you’re not a fan of black eyeliners, this colour is a fantastic alternative.

Pixi also have a whole load of other new products that have just been launched, including Cat Eye Ink – a slanted tip liquid eyeliner, the Endless Brow Gel Pen, Colour Correcting Powder Foundation, Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths, Glow Mud Mask and Peel Pads, and many more! You can check them all out .

Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum

Pestle-&-Mortar-Pure-Hyaluronic-Serum

Hi Guys!

It’s Monday again, and how are we in August already!? I feel like I’ll wake up tomorrow and it’ll be Christmas at this rate! 😀

Anyway, I have a gorgeous new skincare product to share with you today, this is Pestle & Mortar’s Pure Hyaluronic Serum.

I hadn’t heard of Pestle & Mortar until now, and after a bit of research I found out they’re a family owned company founded by Sonia Deasy in early 2014. Described as an innovative beauty and body wellness company, Pestle & Mortar was born out of Sonia’s quest for a product that would make her skin more radiant and hydrated, diminish fine lines and look more youthful.

Their philosophy is ‘to provide an easy to apply solution for all skintypes and all ethnicities, which with continued use will create a better sense of wellbeing upon reflection of your revitalised skin.’

Pestle-&-Mortar-Pure-Hyaluronic-Serum-review

So on first inspection, this is no doubt a beautifully packaged product. The bottle as well as outer packaging looks chic and expensive and would definitely sit well on any dressing table. I know packaging isn’t everything, but you really can’t beat a beautiful looking product 🙂

Ok so what does this actually do? Wel Pure Hyaluronic Serum is described as the ultimate multitasked for your skin. It promises to hydrate and soothe even the most sensitive skin (such as mine!) whilst smoothing fine lines and restoring youthful elasticity. It contains Hyaluronic Acid which is a carbohydrate found naturally in the human body, mostly in skin tissue. Hyaluronic Acid provides continuous moisture to the skin by binding up to 1000 times its weight in water.

The product itself is clear and has a super lightweight, silky formula. You’re advised to smooth two to four drops over your cleansed and toned face before applying other products. I’ve used this a few times now and my dry skin just loves it! My skin instantly feels refreshed, intensely hydrated and plumper. I think with regular use I’ll definitely see more visible improvements too!

It’s also worth mentioning that Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum is 100% free of animal derived raw materials and organic solvent remnants, paraben free, propylene glycol free, fragrance free and not tested on animals.

Pure Hyaluronic Serum is £33.00 and available now from .

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate

Posted on July 31, 2015

kiehls-daily-reviving-concentrate-review

Hi Guys!

Before I get started with today’s product overview, I thought I’d just ask, if you’re a blogger, are you signed up to ? If you haven’t heard of Klout, in simple terms it’s a way to measure your social media influence. It tracks your activity and interactions on social media and awards you a score. I must admit I very rarely check my Klout page, and haven’t had anyone ask for my score, but the reason I’m bringing this up is because Klout also occasionally give you ‘Perks’. I had an email about a week ago saying I was eligible for a new ‘perk’ from Kiehl’s. I logged into my account and was greeted with the following message –

Ahead of the Nationwide launch in August, Kiehl’s are delighted to invite you to try NEW Daily Reviving Concentrate, for revived & energised skin from morning to night!

Well how exciting and unexpected is that! Of course I took up the offer and my beautifully packaged parcel arrived about a week later. I thought I’d mention this because it would definitely be worth signing up to Klout if you haven’t already!

kiehls-daily-reviving-concentrate

Anyway, onto the product! If you’re a fan of Kiehl’s, you should already be aware of their best-selling Midnight Recovery Concentrate, which promises youthful looking skin when you wake up in the morning. Well Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is basically the day version of this product. It’s a lightweight facial oil designed to keep skin looking radiant all day long.

It promises to strengthen skin’s defenses against daily aggressors to keep your complexion youthful and radiant-looking all day. It also provides antioxidant protection with a powerful blend of naturally-derived oils, including Ginger Root, Sunflower and Tamanu, to help skin feel fresh and look energized morning to night. And it’s paraben free, of 100% natural origin, mineral oil free, non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic.

Kiehl’s recommend you lightly pat several drops all over face in upward circular motion (avoiding the immediate eye area) in the morning after your serum and before moisturiser. I’ve used this a few times now and I’m loving it so far! My skin definitely benefits from a bit of TLC, especially when I’m tired and bleary-eyed in the morning, and this is perfect for making your complexion look a bit more alive and radiant whilst leaving skin super soft – it’s definitely a welcome addition to my morning routine!

I’d love to hear if you’re a fan of Kiehl’s? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

The Weekly Top 5 #13

Posted on July 26, 2015

the-weekly-top-5-no-13_edited-1

Hi Guys!

Happy Sunday! This week has been a bit of a funny one for me – I feel like I say that a lot actually! My son has been poorly with a virus and now he’s better he’s passed it to my husband and I, thanks! We’ve both now got some weird lump thing on our tongues which is pretty strange, and it hurts to talk and eat, which is never fun! So I’ve been feeling a bit rotten for the last few days really! In better news though, we also went to a good friend’s wedding yesterday which was a lot of fun, the weather held out and Fred had a great time playing with the other children. By the end of the night all the girls were on the dance floor doing the Macarena, and now I’m left with a slightly fuzzy head today 🙂

I’m also off to London next week with some exciting things planned – all will be revealed soon, and I’m planning to visit one of my blogger chums, Ting from The Ting Thing in Birmingham soon too which is really exciting! It’s basically going to be two full days of shopping, eating and gossiping about makeup!

Here’s this week’s top five

(£18.99) – This is a brand new brand to me, and even though I’ve only just started using these brushes, I’m super impressed already! This Eye Brush Set includes five must have eye brushes, including an Eyeshadow Brush, Crease Brush, Pointed Eyeliner Brush, Brow & Liner Brush, and Brow & Lash Groomer. Each brush comes with soft touch handle and includes FiberLuxe Technology, which is described as ‘the softest and highest quality filaments for professional results every time’. They promise superior pigment pick-up and release, even colour distribution and precise makeup application. For the price of this set, I’m really impressed so far!

Next is the Palm Skater Dress by Simply Be (£45.00) – I decided last week that I’d better buy a new frock for my friend’s wedding, and ended up in one of my favourite shops – Simply Be. Apart from stocking some gorgeous clothes, I can honestly say the Norwich store has some of the nicest shop floor staff I’ve ever some across. I purchased the super pretty Palm Skater Dress as apart from having a lovely pattern, it’s also the perfect style for my bottom-heavy shape. I love the print, and the fact that it’s black and white so you can accessorise with pretty much any colour imaginable!

The Book of Summer Beauty by ESPA (£24.99) – You can’t beat a surprise in the post! And I was over the moon when I received a beautifully packaged parcel from ESPA this week. The Limited Edition Book of Summer Beauty includes ESPA’s three summer beauty essentials – including the Optimal Skin ProSerum to even skin tone and restore radiance, 24 hour Replenishing Moisturiser to prevent the early signs of ageing and Pink Hair and Scalp Mud to condition hair and scalp. Expect a full review coming up within the next month or so.

(£16.00) – I’m a big fan of a matte lip, and Smashbox’s new collaboration with Instagram star and artist, Donal Richardson includes a new matte shade collection that’s just spot on for the summer. I have the shade Paris Pink, which is a beautiful and wearable matte pink shade. The formula includes vitamins and antioxidants to nourish and protect the lips, with an lovely creamy formula.

And lastly, this week’s TV obsession has been Big School. If you haven’t heard of Big School, it’s a new comedy series on Netflix, starring a couple of my favourite comedy actors – David Walliams and Catherine Tate. Big School tells the story of school life from the teacher’s point of view, and the antics they get up to. I won’t tell you anymore, you’ll have to watch it!

In case you missed it – I’m currently holding a giveaway with QVC where two winners will win two Soapsmith sets each, and I’ve also just reviewed some beautiful new Autumn releases from Clarins on the blog too…

clarins-autumn-collection-review

Other things worth mentioning –

I’ve ben doing a *little* bit of shopping lately, and I’m really excited because I’ve signed up to a new subscription box, which should arrive in early August. Keep your eyes peeled to find out which one it is! And I also have plans in place to finish off my office (which I know I keep going on about) but I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere this time, so I’ll tell you all about it as soon as it’s done 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx
