Posted on December 24, 2014

Hi Guys!

The Dressing Room has officially become one of my favourite stores this year, they sell a fantastic selection of designer names covering fashion, accessories, jewellery and shoes – and you may remember they recently sent me this beautiful and exclusive Olivia Burton watch, which I’m completely in love with! Now they’re gearing up for their massive Christmas sale, and I’ve got a few of my favourite sale pieces to show you!

Welcome to The Dressing Room Sale Preview!

First up I have these beautiful Feeling Good Suede Boots by ASH, originally £169 these will be reduced to £84 in the sale – this is an amazing 50% off!

The Feeling Good Suede ankle boots are made from a beautifully soft taupe suede and feature a round toe, elastic side panels and chunky block heel. These would be the perfect chic addition to a day outfit. I’d wear them with a cream chunky jumper and plenty of luxe accessories.

Next is the gorgeous Henriette Bracelet by Lola Rose, this was originally £88 and will be reduced to  £44 in the sale- this is 50% off again!

The Henriette bracelet by Lola Rose is a narrow bangle designed in a gold tone brass, embellished with 5 square Blue Sandstone semi precious stones that have a beautiful glitter finish. I’m officially in love with this bracelet, Lola Rose, to me, conjured up images of chunky bracelets and faceted hearts, which aren’t really my thing, but with it’s gold tone finish and glittery sandstones, this bracelet is my style to a T!

And look, I have the matching Lyra Necklace too! Of course also by Lola Rose, this was originally £75 and will be reduced to £37 in the sale – which is over £50% off this time, amazing!

The Lyra necklace is pretty and delicate, it has a fine gold tone brass chain, featuring a horizontal row of 5 square Blue Sandstones set  in a pendant. The necklace has a lobster clasp and an extension chain up to 5 cm, to make the necklace a little longer if you wish. The Henriette bracelet the Lyra necklace a LBD equals my Christmas party outfit sorted! These Lola Rose pieces really are simply stunning, understated and chic – can you tell I like them!?

The Dressing Room’s amazing sale starts online on Christmas Day and in store on 27th December – the first 20 customers through the door will also receive an extra 10% off too! Happy shopping! xxx

Bonjour HK Beauty Products – 4 Mini Reviews

Posted on November 28, 2014

Hi Guys!

Today I have an interesting selection of products to show you from Bonjour HK, a Hong Kong based beauty store. It appears to be similar to Boots or Lookfantastic, offering a massive range of over 24,000 beauty and healthcare products covering skincare, make-up, fragrances, healthcare, hair care, personal care and accessories. I literally have no experience with foreign cosmetics so I was really excited when they offered to send me a selection of their products to review!

First up we have the Morningveil MasCream ($23.18) Now I’ve dropped you in at the deep end here, this is definitely the strangest product of the bunch – mainly because the main ingredient in this product is eggshell membranes. I think it’s the word MEMBRANES that makes me feel a bit squeamish…

Morning Veil Revital MasCream combines both a mask and cream (the clue’s in the name) in one to keep the skin moist while gently exfoliating the skin. The concept of this cream comes from the eggshell membrane, which is an egg-cellent skin-healer (sorry I couldn’t resist!) Eggshell membrane is rich in glucosamine, chondroitin, collagen and hyaluronic acid. It also contains patented gigawhite, organic argan, acai oil, and sap complex from bamboo & birch to make your complexion brighter and clearer.

So basically this is an overnight mask – and it isn’t eggy at all! It has a pleasant scent, and quite a fantastic light texture. You basically apply a thick layer to the face before bed, then just peel and wash off in the morning. I’ve used this a few times now and learned to apply a while before I go to bed to let the product dry a bit. It didn’t totally dry but was definitely better than going to bed with wet product on my face! When you wake up in the morning you just wash and peel the mask off and you’re left with super soft skin and a refreshed complexion. And it really works! This stuff is like magic!!

Next up is the Ciracle Pimple Solution Pink Powder ($28.21) I love the word pimple! Ha ha!

This product is described as ‘The best pimple treatment that will stop wasted time searching for a treatment that works’ – big claims there! Ciracle’s Pimple Solution Pink Powder Treatment is supposed to relieve acne pimple spots and reduce the appearance of acne scars. It contains effective ingredients to treat your troubled skin gently.

You simply dab the pink solution onto troubled spots, and let Ciracle do the the work. It should do it’s thing within a week, to reveal clearer, smoother looking skin. It’s also handy to know the solution is safe for both the face and the body and suitable for sensitive skin like mine.

Basically you use a cotton bud to dip into the pink powder – the product separates leaving the powder to settle at the bottom half of the bottle, but the instructions say not to shake or mix up the separated ingredients. You then dab onto your spots on cleansed skin before bed, and leave to dry and wash off in the morning.

I don’t really have spotty skin, but one little critter did pop up just after I received this product so I jumped on the opportunity to try the Pink Powder out! I followed he instructions and after a few days my new friend had all but disappeared. Would it have gone that quickly it’s own? I’m not sure. I do think the Pink Powder made it disappear faster!

Next is the Dr Bauer Ionic Eye Wrinkle Ironer ($36.71) This interesting looking gadget aims to ‘iron’ out wrinkles and erase signs of ageing by using heat and ionic vibration.

Its 40-45 ℃ heating effectively promotes blood and lymphatic circulation to revitalize skin nerves for firming purpose, helping reduce dark circles and fine lines. Active ionic vibrations relieve and ease skin tension, delivering nutrients deep into derma. Make your skin experience the firmness and relaxation effectively.

To use, you apply small amount of skincare product (basically whichever moisturiser you’re currently using) around you eyes and mouth area, and the device works automatically once the massage head and moisture on the skin . You then gently massage over the area (three times for each area) to improve the appearance of your skin.

Luckily I don’t have any wrinkles yet but I do suffer with puffy eye bags and dark circles. I’ve used the ironer a few times now and am yet to see any results. Maybe it requires more long term usage – I’ll keep you posted!

And lastly the EOS Nourish Hand Lotion ($5.22) I’m a big fan of EOS lip balms so I was excited to try their hand cream out!

EOS Nourish Hand Lotion is lightweight, fast absorbing and non greasy. It is designed to fit in your purse, your pocket, or on your desk, and looks as good as it feels on your skin. Infused with moisturizing shea butter, oat extract, and a generous helping of antioxidants and vitamin C and E, EOS will leave your skin feeling soft, supple and radiantly healthy long after you apply it.

I love the ergonomic shape and colour of the packaging, and the hand cream itself is one of the best I’ve tried yet. With a lovely scent, it’s definitely fast absorbing and leaves my hands feeling super soft and supple, it ticks all the right boxes for me. This is definitely a must buy for the winter months!

Well if you’ve made it this far, well done! I hope you enjoyed my mini reviews and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

A Pretty Winter Pastel Outfit with Wal-G!

Posted on November 1, 2014

Hi Guys!

I was recently sent this pretty Hermoine Drape Cardigan from Wal-G at E-tailPR. It’s in a lovely duck egg blue and I thought it would look great as the basis for a pastel themed outfit! I’ve teamed it with an unbranded peach mini dress with gold sequinned peter pan collar and a few accessories! For the life of me I can’t remember where this frock came from, and there’s no label so it really is a mystery! Because the dress has a statement collar I decided not to add any jewellery to the look otherwise it may have been a bit OTT 🙂

I teamed the outfit with a clutch that I haven’t actually used yet but I love it, its from & Other Stories, it’s made of silk and has an awesome blurry digital print. I also added my favourite Topshop pointed flats in a bright coral, my Anastasia Beverley Hills Maya Mia Eyeshadow Palette – which I can’t get enough of at the moment, and a selection of pastel nail shades from OPI, Model’s Own and Essie.

I love that the Maya Mia palette comes with some ‘get the look’ cards, so you can copy them exactly or take inspiration if you wish. I’m looking forward to experimenting with this palette as soon as I get a chance!

I know this outfit is quite colourful but it somehow still seems to be a bit wintery to me, I don’t know, maybe it’s the cardigan cover up? Let me know what you think! I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Mystical Cats Outer Space Outfit feat Spiral Bags

Posted on October 1, 2014

Hi Guys!

I thought I’d put a little look together today to show you some of my favourite outfit type things at the moment! 🙂 As much as I am starting to embrace more autumnal hues, I still can’t get enough of brights, holos and crazy prints, so, first up has to be my  from ASOS. HOW AWESOME IS THIS? I was originally looking for something to wear to the Bloggers Love event, and literally had no idea what I wanted when I stumbled upon this amazing cat print dress in the ASOS sale. It was reduced from £22 to £15, and clearly it was made for me, so I thought it was worth a punt! When it arrived I fell in love! It’s just a simple stretchy body-con style dress but I just loved the print so much, mystical cats should be compulsory for everybody. The only thing I found though was the neck was a bit low and there was way too much boob on display, so I got my good old mum to adjust it for me, yay!

To add to the galaxy theme – there can never be enough galaxy – I teamed my frock with an awesome * from Spiral Bags. If you haven’t heard of Spiral they are pretty new to the accessories market, offering some awesome alternative print bags. My favourite has to be galaxy (obv), which comes in a variety of colours. Spiral have other styles of bags and a few more accessories too so make sure you take a look at their site if that’s your kinda thing!

To accessorise, what would an outfit of mine be without a holographic shoe?? The erm, fifth pair of holo shoes to my collection are the New Look , again from ASOS. These babies were only £12.99 ( I had a 10% off code too, bonus!) and are super comfy to wear. I love nothing more than wearing them in the sunshine to dazzle and blind passers by… ha ha!

For jewellery I went with my Cooee neon green Nut Cuff. Cooee are a brand I discovered a few years ago, they’re a Scandanavian company that offer amazing luxe perspex jewellery – check out their site and you’ll see what I mean 🙂

I’d added nail polishes in I’m Addicted (turquoise) and Sittin’ Pretty (purple) by Essie, and Sun Hat (pink) by Models Own to complement the look. The spiky necklace, headband and bracelet, all pretty old and from Topshop.

Ok I know some people might think this look is a bit much, but it really is my style to a T! I’m a firm believer that fashion should be fun, and should be experimented with!

As ever, lemme know what you think – do you like? Or is this just toooo much galaxy for you?? 😉 xxx

AMAZING HAUL! | Liberty Gift With Purchase!

Posted on September 21, 2014

Hi Guys!

If you’re a fan of Liberty you may have heard they had a fantastic gift with purchase (GWP) offer that started last week. With a beauty purchase of £150 or more they were offering £300 of beauty goodies for free! Well the thought of all those brand new products to try was just too much for me, so I had to take up the offer! And yes, all these amazing skincare products above were completely FREE! Space NK had a very similar offer shortly after, which I was very tempted to go for but I couldn’t really justify the purchases after spending so much at Liberty!

I know I know, yes, I had to spend £150 to get the goodies in the first place, but hear me out! My original plan was to take this as an opportunity to stock up on essentials… but actually instead I decided to try out some products I’ve been lusting after for a while, so this is how I’ve justified it to myself… 🙂

  • Vouchers for hair treatments in store (not shown)

There’s some pretty awesome products in there so I’m a happy bunny! This little lot oughta keep me busy for a while!

And here are my actual purchases!

I went for the AESOP Alacrity Set, which includes –

  • Fabulous Face Cleanser
  • B & Tea Balancing Toner
  • Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream
  • Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste

A 30ml bottle of Molecule 01 and an ESPA Mandarin Lip balm – which without me realising was already in the GWP set, DOH! Never mind, a girl can never have enough lip balms hey!

I won’t go into too much detail about the products as I want to have a chane to try them out properly first, then I’l probably write up some individual reviews for you. 🙂

So what do you think? Do you think this is a good deal? And did you go for it yourself? Let me know! xxx

The White Company Norwich Store Opening Event!

Posted on August 31, 2014

Hi Guys!

On Wednesday night I had the pleasure of attending the opening event for  brand new store in Norwich. I’d never been to one of their stores before so I had no idea what to expect, their website is gorgeous though so I knew I was going to be in for a treat! I took a friend along and as soon as we walked in we’re greeted with bubbly and canapés, and the shop had a lovely ‘new home’ scent. The White Company Norwich offers a large selection of high end homewares, clothing and home accessories over two floors – I was also told this is a brand new concept store for TWC, so this store is the first of it’s kind in the country!

As soon as we entered, I was instantly attracted to the candle and scent section! On the picture above you can see the lovely candles are housed in glass domes – you pick the domes up and sniff inside them to try the candles, the domes hold the scents amazingly well!

It was also great to hear that their candles are made in the same factory as Jo Malone – the whole company reminds me of Jo Malone actually; everything is of the highest quality, luxurious yet understated, and comes gorgeously packaged too.

There was a section in the corner next to the candles for soaps and lotions, I love that they’ve included a sink so you can easily try products out and wash your hands! The layout of the whole store is so open, everything is on display wanting to be touched and tried!

The White Company also have their own mini perfume range, with Day and Night being their newest offerings. Day was a a lovely fresh scent and Night was a gorgeous heavier evening scent.

We wandered upstairs to take a look at the bedding and children’s sections, to be greeted by an amazing string quartet! (I must admit when I heard the music downstairs I thought it was a CD, ha ha!) I have a feeling this may not be a fixture though!

There’s no doubt that The White company have taken time to plan the interior down to the finest detail. Dotted all over the store you can find amazing lit and animated projections – such a the text ‘Sweet Dreams are Made of This’ on a pillow, and an animated circus scene on a poster next to a child’s bed.

So this store really is pretty amazing! And I had such a lovely time! I purchased a Pomegranate home candle and the sweetest ‘Bella’ bunny comforter for my friend who has just had a little girl, I couldn’t resist! The White Company also kindly sent me home with a lovely goody bag, including a shower gel and soap set, a bar of organic chocolate and a mini Seychelles candle, thanks guys!

If you’re ever in Norwich you really must check the store out!

Have you ever shopped at The White company before? I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Cartoon Clutch Bags! | Trend Spotlight

Posted on August 19, 2014

Hi Guys!

So I just happened to be browsing the Selfridges site the other day, lusting after all the gorgeous things that I can’t afford, and I happened to notice there seems to be a bit of a trend for novelty / comedy clutch bags at the moment. I remember the big hoo-ha about Moschino’s MacDonalds themed collection – would you want to sport the famous arches on your designer bag? Personally I wouldn’t, but each to their own. Anyway, Selfridges seemed to have quite a few fun and quirky clutches going on, Charlotte Olympia, the queen of quirky herself had a few fun styles to complement her awesome shoes. I LOVE the Eye Want You clutch. And Anya Hindmarch has a definite snacks based theme going on with her clutches – anyone for a ginger nut??

I’m afraid all these bags will set you back a small fortune, each, not for all of them. Unfortunately I can’t afford a clutch that costs more than a month’s rent, but I’m hoping the high street will catch up soon with their own nifty novelty offerings. I have checked out the usual suspects such as ASOS, Topshop and River Island, but the best I could find was an orange or lemon slice shaped clutch from New Look, as cool as this is it doesn’t compare to a tube of Rich Tea hanging off your arm!

So what do you think? Are these clutches awesome and fun? Or a bit silly and stupid? xx
