Beauty: The Revlon Lip Wardrobe

Posted on February 5, 2018

Hi Guys!

I have a few new lip releases from Revlon to share with you today! Now I must admit, Revlon isn’t a brand that I’d usually gravitate towards – for no other reason than I’m just not really familiar with their products. So when they offered to send over their ‘Lip Wardrobe’ including a selection of their new lip launches, I jumped at the chance and thought this would be a great opportunity to get acquainted with the brand…

Firstly I have the  (£5.99) – these are kind of half way between a lipstick and a balm, in a long twist up tube. The Ultra HD Gel Lip Colours include hyaluronic acid for an ultra hydrating formula, and the gel stick promises to be intensely hydrating, offering lightweight colour pigments suspended in a clear gel base, with a creamy mango and whipped vanilla scent.

I think these are probably my favourite products out of the bunch. My problem is I more than often have dry lips, and I love wearing matte liquid lipsticks, which really don’t help. So a nice lightweight hydrating lip product is just what I need – I love that these have a decent amount of pigment for a light hint of colour, and feel moisturising and super comfortable to wear.

  • 720 HD Pink Cloud – a sheer petal pink.
  • 700 HD Sand – a sheer light apricot.

Next I have the (above top product, £6.99) and the  (bottom two shades, £6.99) – these products are both described as lightweight, high definition gel matte lip colours, offering a moisturising, velvety feel. They have the same light mango and vanilla fragrance as the above products. The original Matte Lip Colour comes in 7 shades, and the Matte Lip Colour Metallic comes in 5 shades.

The formula of these lipsticks is nothing like a traditional matte finish liquid lipstick, the product itself is very thick, yet it feels very light, smooth and moisturising on the lips – it really feels like you’re wearing a lip balm! They look particularly shiny on my swatches above but are way more matte when applied on the lips. I should also mention that they don’t ‘set’ or dry down like a traditional liquid lipstick, which is why they feel so hydrating. These products will move around and you’ll probably want to wear a lip liner too for definition.

  • 675 HD Infatuation – a deep burgundy
  • 705 HD Shine – a metallic mauve pink.
  • 690 HD Gleam – a metallic light peach.

For fans of a more traditional lipstick, there’s also the (£5.49) – these are formulated with microfine pigments, promising high-impact colour, with a smooth moisturizing feel.

These lipstick actually feel very similar on the lips to the Ultra HD Gel Lip Colors. They’re moisturising, and have more pigment, but a similar sheeny finish. I really like these and I think they’d definitely make great affordable day to day lipsticks.

  • 045 Naughty Plum – a mid muted plum.
  • 046 Bombshell Red – a slightly blue toned red.
  • 044 Bare Affair – a light peach toned beige.

And lastly the (£4.29) – promising longwearing definition, these lipliners help lip colour last longer and prevent feathering and bleeding. There’s not really too much I can say about these lip liners – they do the job! They’re not drying in any way, and they come with a built-in sharpener, which is very handy.

  • Plum – a mid toned pinky plum.
  • Nude – a light beige nude.

The above Revlon products are all available now at .

I’d love to hear if you use Revlon products, and what you’d recommend? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: New Makeup Worth Checking Out – Feat. New CID Cosmetics, Chantecaille, Lancome & More

Posted on February 6, 2017

Hi Guys!

Happy Monday! I’ve gathered a few products together today that I really think are worth checking out. There are a couple of brands such as New CID Cosmetics and Suqqu that I’ve included specifically today as you don’t really hear much about them, but the do make some fantastic products – enjoy!

Ok so starting with New CID Cosmetics, the New CID Cosmetics i-Gloss Light Up Lip Gloss (£19.50 at ) is such a fun product – I mean who could resist a lip gloss with an automatic light in the lid, and a mirror on the side? And this shade, Moonstone is such a beautiful pearlescent pink – it’s great as a gloss on its own, or also as a lip topper worn over a liquid lipstick.

The Limited Edition i-groom Eyebrow Grooming Pencil and Brush (£19.50 at ) is another great product, this is a sleek looking, simple yet effective wind up brow pencil, with a spoolie brush at the opposite end. It creates a fine, sharp line that’s perfect for drawing on natural looking brows, without looking too heavy.

And the i-Prime Mini (£16.00 at ) – this is a mini 10ml primer, perfect for keeping in your on-the-go makeup bag. The formula is a lightweight serum including Shea Butter and Vitamin E to help blur imperfections, leaving skin looking radiant and beautiful.

Next I have a few products from Rodial – firstly their new Baking Powder (£29.00 at ) – this is is perfect for those that like to do a full on makeup routine and ‘bake’ their face to set their base. This is a silky smooth loose powder that mattifies skin to give it a creamy, suede soft-focus finish whilst blurring imperfections. Simply apply this loose setting powder over your concealer or foundation, leave to warm on skin for 10-15 minutes and dust off the excess – easy.

And Rodial have also introduced their new Baking Brush (£40.00 at ) to go with the above powder. This brush has been specifically designed with soft, dense hairs to allow for easy application of loose powder. It’s also the ideal tool for buffing and dusting off excess powder so you can achieve a flawless matte finish to your complexion.

Rodial also have a new Instaglam Compact Deluxe Highlighting Powder in 02 (£52.00 at ) – this is a beautiful creamy textured highlighting powder, in a light champagne shade. It contains soft powders and refined pearls which are blended together to create a beautiful creamy powder with an iridescent finish.

Continuing with highlighters, I also wanted to include the Estee Edit Flash Illuminator Fluid Powder (£22.00 at ) – this is very similar to the Rodial highlighter above but this one is slightly more gold / peach toned. It would be great for light to medium skin tones and has a lovely smooth almost creamy texture that’s really flattering when applied to the top of the cheekbones especially.

And for a more budget friendly highlighter option, the Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick in Starlight (£9.99 at ) is definitely worth checking out. If you’re looking for a slightly deeper, more golden highlight, this stick formula has a wonderfully smooth consistency, and leaves the skin glowing with a golden sheen.

I also have a couple of the (fairly) new Lancome Cushion Blushers (£29.00 at ) – these cushion blushers are perfect for giving the complexion a fresh, dewy glow. You only need a tiny amount to give a pretty flush to the skin, and the formula also offers intense hydration, and the cushion sponge allows you to easily build the intensity of the colour to suit your preference.

If you’re looking for a new eyeshadow palette, the Smith & Cult Book of Eyes Eyeshadow Palette (£34.00 at ) is one to add to your to-try list. There are four different quads available and I have Interlewd which contains some really pretty soft pinks and rich purple shades.

Or for single eyeshadows, the Chantecaille Mermaid Eyeshadow in Hematite (£29.00 at ) is simply stunning. This is a crease-proof and water resistant product that can be worn either wet or dry and used an eye shadow or as an eyeliner. The formula is also infused with an anti-aging silk tree extract that helps lift the upper eyelid for a more youthful looking eye area.

And the Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick (£23.00 at ) – Japanese cult brand Suqqu is another that you don’t see much of, but definitely worth a mention. Their Extra Glow Lipstick contains a blend of seven nourishing oils for long-lasting moisture, and creates the appearance of plumper lips with a natural sheen.

And going back to eyes, the Smith & Cult B-Line Eye Pen (£21.00 at ) is a richly pigmented, felt pen liner that’s both smudge-proof and waterproof. This innovative precision, felt tipped liner applies seamlessly along the lash-line giving highly pigmented colour with a quick drying finish. If you’re looking for a new pen style eyeliner I’d definitely recommend you check this one out.

For those looking to cover their dark circles, the Know Cosmetics No Dark Shadows Concealer in Wow (£15.00 at ) is just the product for the job. This is a multipurpose under eye concealer designed to conceal imperfections and dark circles, as well as highlight the complexion. This is available in two shades – Wow (rosy tone) and Pizazz (yellow tone) and offers medium coverage which is both long lasting and moisturising.

And back to Suqqu, their Gel Eyeliner (£20.00 at ) is a super thin 2mm precision tipped pencil eyeliner with a texture that seems to melt onto the skin, creating a wonderfully smooth and delicate line. This is perfect for those looking for a subtle and fine lined eyeliner.

You’ll probably notice I haven’t included many lip products today – when I was getting everything together I realised there are LOADS of amazing lip products that have recently launched, so I’ll be publishing a separate post just on them very soon.

I’d love to hear what you think? Have you tried any of these products yourself? I decided not to include swatches as I took some and they just weren’t doing the products justice. If you’d like to see swatches of anything though please do let me know and I’ll be happy to share on Insta Stories 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Summer Brights! The Best of Coral and Orange Lip Products!

Hi Guys!

I thought i’d put together a little post to show you all my favourite bright lippies, I’ve got quite a few  and it was hard to cut them down, but I’ve managed to get together four orange shades and four corals for this post, I’ll then put together another post shortly with the pinks and reds!

So first up I’ve put the Oranges together… |I used to be scared of orange lipstick, any orange makeup for that matter, but as soon as I saw MAC’s Morange I knew I needed to try it, and now I’ve got a bit of a collection going on!

1. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in 040 Rendesvous. If you want to try an orange lip but you’re a bit unsure as I was, this is a great ‘starter’ orange, it’ll just give your lips a hint of colour. It’s moisturising too!

2. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 912 Electric Orange. As soon as I saw this I was like WOW! This is such a true bright tangerine colour, and I love Maybelline lipsticks as a cheaper alternative to MAC. I highly recommend this if you want a high street priced tangerine orange.

3. Sleek Pout Paint in 155 Lava. Again another super bright colour, this is definitely the most intense of the lot! The pigmentation in this product is amazing, it’s like OCC Lip Tars but without the price tag! Sleek also offer a great range of colours in their Pout Paint’s so there should be something to suit everyone if you’re not a fan of orange!

4. MAC Morange. Morange has to be my favourite orange at the moment. It’s just so intense!  The formula is spot on too, it’s creamy and forgiving on the lips, giving you fab even coverage. It also has the most amazing colour payoff that lasts for hours on end. If you’re an orange lip fan you need this in your life!

And now the lovely Corals!

S&G Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Fuchsia-Ristic. Now I’m gonna be honest, I didnt actually know I had this until I was rummaging throughout my makeup drawers and spotted it! I think I must have bought it from a blog sale a while ago and completely forgot! Oops! Anyway, this is a pretty pinkish coral gloss which is great for a hint of colour!

Lord & Berry Shining Lipstick in Fire. I’ve recently rediscovered this from the back of my stash. Fire is  an intense reddish coral with a semi-matte finish. This is a fab statement colour if you wanted something slightly different from a true red.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 910 Shocking Coral. This is such a pretty, easy to wear colour. Maybelline’s Color Sensation Lipsticks are really underrated, they have a fab formula and are really affordable.

Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Coral Ahh my new favourite lipstick of all time, this really is the most perfect coral shade, click on the link to take a look at it on me and you’ll see what I mean! This is the most perfect true coral colour, and the formula is EVERYTHING. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the Melted Lipsticks!

I’d love to hear which coral or orange lip shades you’re loving this summer? xxx

The End of My Spending Ban! And a Little Haul…

Posted on August 4, 2014

august-haul

Hi Guys!

So you may or may not have known that I’ve been on a sending ban for the Month of July, it was really difficult to not buy any makeup at all but I did it! Obviously by the end of the month I was literally gagging to flex some plastic and treat myself so I went into Norwich on payday and bought a few bits! I had to go to the dentist anyway so I thought it’d be completely silly of me not to have a little look round the shops while I was there! So I met up with my BFF Kat and and headed into the city…

I had my heart set on Jo Malone and Tom Ford before we’d even left home so our first stop was, of course Jarrolds. We headed to Jo Malone first but I really wasn’t sure what I wanted so I let the assistant take the lead and help me, and guess what? I’m not gong to tell you what I bought! Ha ha! I’m going to save that for another post 🙂 Ohh what a tease I am! I did buy a couple of lovely things though and they’re just so amaze I wanted to write a post just for them. Don’t worry I’ll have it done in the next couple of days! 😉 Ok so after Jo Malone we stopped at Tom Ford and I had to drag myself away before I maxxed out my card, which I could have done very easily – no purchases there I’m afraid, not this time anyway. We then headed to Chapelfield where I popped in Superdrug and picked up one of the new Revlon Colorstay Moisture Lip Stains, again all will be revealed all in another post but you can see from the picture which colour it is at least. I think I subconsciously went for this as I desperately wanted a Tom Ford lipstick and the packaging is kind of similar??

After a brief ‘is the baby coming right now?’ moment of panic with Kat who’s due on August the 11th, we then headed over to House of Fraser for a quick nose around and I found myself in the Yankee Candle section, funny that! They had a few new candles out, all with a distinct Autumnal feel which I wasn’t quite ready for yet. I’m still in full summer mode so I bought Pink Sands and Summer Scoop, which are both lovely summery scents. Summer Scoop especially caught my eye nose as smells just like strawberry ice cream. I did in the end also go for Amber Moon from the new Indian Summer collection, which again is lovely with scents of Amber, Patchouli and Sandalwood.

Kat then had to go home and I had a dentist appointment too at this point (the whole point of my trip into Norwich) and only after my appointment did I realise it was late night shopping, what a result!! So I headed back to Chapelfield for another look around and picked up some cleansing cloths from Boots as I seem to have lost all four of mine. H&M was my next stop as I always pick up every day basics from there such as their long vest tops which always come in a vast array of colours and I grabbed this awesome chain print tshirt, it was only £7.99 too, bargain! On the way back to the station I quickly stopped at Topshop for a peek and spotted these awesome pretty pink flats – I am partial to a pointed flat, and at only £16 it would’ve been rude to say no!

So that’s about it for my first spree of the month! I feel it was rather successful!

I hope you enjoyed my post and keep an eye out for my Jo Malone post coming up soon! xx
