Beauty: New Pixi Pretties Collection #PixiPretties

Posted on April 11, 2018

Hi Guys!

A couple of weeks ago the most amazing press package arrived at my house, and I was SO excited to find it was the new Pixi Pretties collection from Pixi Beauty!

Pixi Beauty is well known for teaming up with bloggers on limited edition collections, and their latest collaboration is with three influencers from the US. Each has their own mini collection including, eyeshadows, blushers, lip gloss and more…

Firstly I have  (£28.00) – Chloe’s palette is inspired by love and romance and contains a selection of her favourite hues to bring out your inner glow. The palette includes three silky blush shades – apricot-amber, ballet pink and rich, rosy coral, which are perfect for giving a natural looking flush to the skin. There are also six neutral, easy to wear eye shades in three duo pans, as well as a handy trio of brown and black matte shades to enhance, define and line both the eyes and brows.

Chole has also created her own  (£16.00) – This liquid lip gloss in shade Cake adds a luminous 3D glimmer to the lips. Cake is described as a golden, blushed champagne hue with three-dimensional glints of glitter. The formula is also infused with nourishing rose hip seed and marula oil to smooth and condition the lips. It can be worn alone, as a topper for your favourite lip colour or used only in the centre to create the illusion of fuller lips. This lip gloss is honestly so sparkly – I’ve been using it as a topper over my favourite liquid lipstick 🙂

Next, Dulce Candy’s (£28.00) – this is a really interesting multi-use palette, and I don’t actually think I’ve seen anything like this before. It contains nine large powder-to-cream shimmering shades, including golds, rose tones and bronzes. These shades are designed to be used anywhere on the face, to give a luminous, glowing finish. And I have to say, I absolutely love this palette! The shades are amazingly well pigmented, and super shimmery. I love the top right shade (Brilliant) as an inner corner highlighter for the eyes, and the rest of the colours look beautiful used as eyeshadows, blushers and cheek highlighters.

And Dulce Candy’s (£28.00) – this is another multi-use edit of nine large-pan shades. This time the formula comprises of rich, velvety creams that can be used on both lips and cheeks, and includes shades from the palest pink to deep plum, via vibrant fuchsia, rosy coral and muted, blushed taupes. These shades deliver beautiful colour payoff, applying smoothly and adhering easily to give a long-lasting finish. They also contain antioxidants and minerals, to protect skin, keeping it soft and hydrated.

And lastly . As soon as I saw this palette I was instantly excited, these are definitely my kind of shades! Weylie’s Dimensional Eye Creator Kit is specially designed to flatter and enhance all eye shapes and sizes. The eyeshadow palette contains six wonderfully pigmented eyeshadows, three with a matte finish and three with a shimmer finish. The colours include a gorgeous selection of warm tones – such as muted terracotta, rich burgundy and shimmery brown. These shades have been designed to flatter all eye shapes and sizes, and are versatile enough for both natural and dramatic looks. The kit also includes a fantastic 2-in-1 black kohl pencil and liquid eyeliner duo to cater to your every lining need.

I’m honestly so impressed with these products, Pixi Beauty just continue to produce fantastic products time and time again! If you’re thinking of picking up something from this collection, I’d highly recommend the Cafe Con Dulce Palette, or Weylie’s Eye Creator Kit 🙂

All the above products are available now at and .

Beauty: What’s New at Dior for SS18

Posted on April 10, 2018

Hi Guys!

Happy Tuesday! I have a gorgeous bundle of brand new products from Dior at FeelUnique to share with you today. I’ve got a new foundation and concealer, as well as a couple of lip products and a fabulous new serum. Let’s get stuck in!

Starting with the (Top swatch, £34.00) – the DiorSkin Forever Undercover Foundation promises 24 hour full coverage with a natural matte finish, that’s kiss proof, touch proof and life proof. Unfortunately I have slightly the wrong shade for me, this is 020 Beige Clair which is just a bit too dark. Not to worry though, in the interest of science I still went ahead and tried it out in the privacy of my own home!

The DiorSkin Forever Undercover Foundation consistency is a light, runny liquid, and offers high pigmentation to give a pretty much full coverage finish, depending on how you apply it. I found that a quick application with fingers gives a nice medium level of coverage, but application with a beauty blender gives a more full coverage, flawless look.

And I have to say, Dior wasn’t wrong when they said this foundation has a natural matte finish. There’s nothing chalky about this foundation whatsoever – which I have to be careful of when it comes to matte foundations as my skin tends to be on the dry side. The finish is very true to life, and almost undetectable. If you’re looking for a lightweight, full coverage foundation that looks super natural, this could definitely be the one for you.

I also have the (£21.00) – which is the perfect partner for the above foundation. It contains 25% more pigment than the foundation, and promises to instantly camouflage imperfections. It’s also water resistant and gives up to 8 hours of wear.

So for this product I do have the right shade! 101 Ivory was just right for my pale complexion. And just like I expected, this concealer is basically a more intense version of the forever Foundation. It worked fantastically well on my under eye area, giving natural looking coverage, without emphasising my fine lines.

Onto lips now, the new (right swatch, £26.00) is the first colour reviver lip balm by Dior, combining the comfort of a balm with a touch of colour for a tailor-made flush of pink. Its secret lies in a perfect balance between make-up and lip care. The formula reacts to the pH level of your lips, providing a natural flush of customised pink. In terms of comfort, the formula is enriched with mango butter, ensuring up to 24-hour hydration.

I also have one of the new (£27.50) – available in three finishes – matte, satin and metal, these lip stains promise intense couture colour with a 12 hour extreme long-wear finish.

The Rouge Dior Liquid formula contains mineral wax, ultra-fine silica powder and oils to give intense pigmentation, which perfectly glides over the lips for a long-wearing result. Equipped with a reservoir that takes up and deposits just the right amount of product, its fine applicator is the perfect tool for outlining the lips with precision.

I have shade 625 Mysterious Matte, which I’d describe as a fairly deep rose pink. I have to say, this is easily now one of my favourite matte liquid lipsticks. It’s not drying whatsoever, and though it’s not completely smudge or transfer proof, the finish is just beautiful, and most importantly, extremely comfortable on the lips.

And lastly I have the new  (£75.00) – described as a radiance concentrate, the Dior Capture Youth Crème Serum Glow is composed of 80% naturally derived ingredients, including Kakadu plum which is 100 times more concentrated in vitamin C than an orange.

The serum offers an exfoliating effect, whilst being specially formulated to be gentle on skin. It promises to leave you with an invigorated, fresh, glowing complexion.

Dior advise to use this with their Capture Youth Cream, where you just add a couple of drops of serum to the cream before application. Or you can of course just use this as a booster with your normal moisturiser, which is what I’ve been doing. I’ve used this a few times now and and though on the pricey side, I think it’s a fantastic booster to add to your normal moisturiser if your skin’s in need of a bit of extra TLC. There are also other options available, including a Redness Soother, Plump Filler, and Lift Sculptor to name a few, so you can choose depending on your own skin concerns.

You can shop the above Dior products now at .

I’d love to hear if you’re a fan of Dior beauty? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: New La Petite Robe Noir Hippie Chic Collection from Guerlain

Posted on March 16, 2018

Hi Guys!

I’ve had a bit of a break, but I’m back today with some new beauty treats to share with you! It’s been quite a while since I’ve tried anything from Guerlain (one of my favourite luxury brands) but I now have a few of their brand new SS18 releases to try out, let’s take a look…

I’m a big fan of super lightweight liquid lipsticks, and the new Colour’Ink Liquid Lipstick has a an extremely light “no texture” effect, which sounds fantastic to me. The formula is spot on, being silky smooth and lightweight, feeling very much like a hybrid between a stain and a liquid lipstick. Application is easy and it’s great that the product is also buildable. A single layer gives a natural light tint effect, and two to three layers gives a more intense and striking result.

The Colour’Ink Liquid Lipstick is available in fifteen shades, I have L110 On Fleek, a light caramel nude shade, and L120 #Empowered, an intense true red, and there are also two Lip Transformers, specifically made to change the finish of your lip look.

The blue shade L101 #Adventurous, is made to be applied before your favourite liquid lipstick to give the colour a twist. I must admit, I didn’t really have my hopes up for this shade, it just looked so bright and a bit scary! I gave it a go though and this is where the buildabilty of the formula really comes into play. I tried a single (sheer) layer of the blue shade, which, on its own did make my lips look a bit ‘dead’, but, applying the red over the top actually gave a really nice deep reddish purple colour, and I was pleasantly surprised!

The other transformer (which I don’t have) is the Lip & Shine, this is a 2-in-1 product that can be used both as a base to moisturize the lips and as a top coat to change the finish of your liquid lipstick from matte to shiny.

Next I have Guerlain’s new Roll’ink Liner, which is extremely similar to MAC’s Roller Liner which was released last year (and I think there’s been another brand or two that have also released similar products). It features a super tiny ‘pizza cutter’ style wheel applicator, which is perfect for creating the finest lines with precision. The formula is an intense black, which promises to be no-transfer and waterproof, and after trying this out I can tell you it doesn’t move around of its own accord, but if you touch your eyes it will start to flake off. This is a great liner though that’s easy to use, and perfect for those looking for a really fine line.

And lastly, the Brow Duo – this nifty little 2-in-1 product includes a brow mascara at one end and a highlighter at the other, and comes in two shades. I have it in 10 Light, and I have to say I think this is my favourite product out of the bunch. The brow mascara has a small wand, which is perfect for larger or medium brows (it’d be too big for thinner brows though). You’re not going to get a full on intense ‘drawn on’ brow look with this product, but this is a good thing in my books. Instead it gives a great fuller, more natural look, providing definition and helping to fill in any gaps between hairs.

The highlighter is also lovely. It has a smooth creamy-texture, in a light champagne shade. This colour is perfect for lighter skin tones and works well as a brow bone highlight, as well as on the inner corner of the eyes.

All the above products are available now at ,  and .

Beauty: Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter Palette

Posted on February 28, 2018

Hi Guys!

The new Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter Palette recently landed at TSNC HQ, and I have to say I think I’m in love! 😀

This brand new limited edition palette was created after fans of the brand discovered that Kat Von D’s Metal Crush Eyeshadow shade “Thunderstruck” doubles as an amazing highlighter… so Kat thought she’d make a whole palette along the same lines…

So, firstly the packaging is just everything – as expected from Kat, she’s hand drawn all the artwork herself, and the outer packaging has the most amazing holographic finish too. Inside the palette you’ll find three large metallic finish highlighter pans and a good sized mirror.

The highlighters themselves are loaded with hyper-reflective micro-crystals that catch the light wonderfully – they sparkle and shift and have the most amazing multi-dimensional luminosity. The three shades are as follows –

  • Gammaray – a prismatic peach with pink and gold crystals.
  • Helix – an ethereal opal with gold and silver crystals.
  • Roseshock – a pearlescent pink with lavender and pink crystals.

My swatches definitely don’t do these highlighters justice, they’re honestly so vivid and sparkly in real life!

This formula is very smooth and easy to apply. Though they appear to be powders, the highlighters actually encompass a liquid to powder technology, which gives them a super light and creamy finish, with no powdery chalkiness in sight. I should also point out the the product is not ‘chunky’ in any way (like some products can be when you have this level of metallic shimmer) and blends out really nicely, giving you the most striking highlight ever!

You can probably tell by now that I absolutely love this palette. The shades are all easy to wear colours that apply and blend beautifully. If you’re looking for some intense, out of this world highlighters, this is definitely the palette for you!

The Kat Von D metal Crush Highlighter Palette is £32.00 and available now at

Beauty: New Benefit BADGal Bang Mascara

Posted on February 10, 2018

Hi Guys!

I have the brand new Benefit BADGal Bang Mascara to share with you today! The latest mascara launch from Benefit promises a massive 36 hours of volume, without weighing down the lashes – the whole idea here is that you can get a super voluminous look, without feeling like you have a heavy product on your lashes, which can feel quite uncomfortable as the day goes on.

The new BADGal Bang formula promises to be smudge-proof, water-resistant, and volumising. It contains aero-particles, which are one of the lightest known materials derived from space technology, as well as ProVitamin B5 to aid thickness & strength. It also comes with a custom Slimpact! brush – streamlined to reach root-to-tip, corner-to-corner, upper & lower lashes for big volume with 360 degree reach.

Benefit advise you to ‘Wiggle the Slimpact! brush from base of lashes to tip. Apply one coat to both eyes, repeat as desired to build BIGGER and BIGGER volume.’ So let’s see if it actually works…

Ok so the Slimpact! wand head is quite long and has teeny tiny spikes, rather than traditional bristles. They’re flexible and easily grab even the tiniest of lashes. When I first saw the brush, I thought I really wouldn’t like it, as I’ve used mascaras before with similar looking brushes that have been so spiky and sharp they actually hurt my eyes! These bristles though are soft and flexible, so this wasn’t a problem.

I have to say I actually love the style of the brush. I have very short, straight lashes and larger brushes with longer bristles can be a nightmare to use precisely. I loved how the Slimpact! brush is long in length, but not chunky, and you can easily get right to the edges of the eyes and coat those tiny fine hairs that larger brushes seem to miss.

I know what you want to know – but is it clumpy? Well the answer is, yes it can be, but not necessarily. It really depends on how you apply your mascara, how thickly you put it on and how many coats. I found it quite easy to apply this in a way that gave fantastic volume, without any clumpiness. The formula does seem to want to stick the lashes together, so you just need to take a moment to go over the lashes a couple of times to makeup sure they’re separated. I didn’t find this mascara to help with curl at all – so you’ll definitely want to curl your lashes before hand, and it was slightly lengthening but not noticeably so.

Overall I actually really like this mascara, it definitely feels lightweight as advertised, and it gives a really dramatic look. You just need to take a bit more time with application to separate the lashes. This is a must have if you’re specifically looking for volume!

Benefit BADGal Bang Mascara is £21.50 and available now at . Debenhams are also currently offering a free gift £5 worth of points when you purchase the BADgal Bang Mascara.

Beauty: The Revlon Lip Wardrobe

Posted on February 5, 2018

Hi Guys!

I have a few new lip releases from Revlon to share with you today! Now I must admit, Revlon isn’t a brand that I’d usually gravitate towards – for no other reason than I’m just not really familiar with their products. So when they offered to send over their ‘Lip Wardrobe’ including a selection of their new lip launches, I jumped at the chance and thought this would be a great opportunity to get acquainted with the brand…

Firstly I have the  (£5.99) – these are kind of half way between a lipstick and a balm, in a long twist up tube. The Ultra HD Gel Lip Colours include hyaluronic acid for an ultra hydrating formula, and the gel stick promises to be intensely hydrating, offering lightweight colour pigments suspended in a clear gel base, with a creamy mango and whipped vanilla scent.

I think these are probably my favourite products out of the bunch. My problem is I more than often have dry lips, and I love wearing matte liquid lipsticks, which really don’t help. So a nice lightweight hydrating lip product is just what I need – I love that these have a decent amount of pigment for a light hint of colour, and feel moisturising and super comfortable to wear.

  • 720 HD Pink Cloud – a sheer petal pink.
  • 700 HD Sand – a sheer light apricot.

Next I have the (above top product, £6.99) and the  (bottom two shades, £6.99) – these products are both described as lightweight, high definition gel matte lip colours, offering a moisturising, velvety feel. They have the same light mango and vanilla fragrance as the above products. The original Matte Lip Colour comes in 7 shades, and the Matte Lip Colour Metallic comes in 5 shades.

The formula of these lipsticks is nothing like a traditional matte finish liquid lipstick, the product itself is very thick, yet it feels very light, smooth and moisturising on the lips – it really feels like you’re wearing a lip balm! They look particularly shiny on my swatches above but are way more matte when applied on the lips. I should also mention that they don’t ‘set’ or dry down like a traditional liquid lipstick, which is why they feel so hydrating. These products will move around and you’ll probably want to wear a lip liner too for definition.

  • 675 HD Infatuation – a deep burgundy
  • 705 HD Shine – a metallic mauve pink.
  • 690 HD Gleam – a metallic light peach.

For fans of a more traditional lipstick, there’s also the (£5.49) – these are formulated with microfine pigments, promising high-impact colour, with a smooth moisturizing feel.

These lipstick actually feel very similar on the lips to the Ultra HD Gel Lip Colors. They’re moisturising, and have more pigment, but a similar sheeny finish. I really like these and I think they’d definitely make great affordable day to day lipsticks.

  • 045 Naughty Plum – a mid muted plum.
  • 046 Bombshell Red – a slightly blue toned red.
  • 044 Bare Affair – a light peach toned beige.

And lastly the (£4.29) – promising longwearing definition, these lipliners help lip colour last longer and prevent feathering and bleeding. There’s not really too much I can say about these lip liners – they do the job! They’re not drying in any way, and they come with a built-in sharpener, which is very handy.

  • Plum – a mid toned pinky plum.
  • Nude – a light beige nude.

The above Revlon products are all available now at .

I’d love to hear if you use Revlon products, and what you’d recommend? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Fragrance: Shay & Blue Black Tulip EDP

Posted on January 31, 2018

Hi Guys!

I have the latest offering from niche fragrance brand, Shay & blue to share with you today. I only had my first experience Shay & Blue fairly recently, when I visited their beautiful Mayfair Flagship Store last Autumn, and I was absolutely blown away by their fragrances! I left with my two favourites at the time, which were Salted Caramal and Blood Oranges (you can read my full write up here)

Shay & Blue have now added a brand new fragrance to their collection for 2018 – Black Tulip. I must admit I wasn’t too sure what to expect from this scent, but I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that Black Tulip is absolutely beautiful! The fragrance is described as a modern floral, but it’s really so much more than that. It has the most wonderful combination of white florals, juicy fruits, smooth woods and delicious creamy white chocolate. I honesty don’t think I’ve tried another fragrance like this before.

Black Tulip is most definitely a unique modern floral scent. It opens with notes of Snowdrops and Cyclamen offering an inviting hit of crisp floral freshness, leading to a juicy heart of Plum with intense and velvety Black Tulip. The base rounds the fragrance off beautifully with warming notes of deliciously creamy vanilla White Chocolate and Soft Woods.

To me this is very much a wintery scent, that’s both elegant and refined, yet offers a cosy warmth – it makes me think of evenings by the fire, snuggling in cosy soft blankets and long winter walks. The freshness of at the top of Black Tulip is perfectly counterpinned by the warming and indulgent base, give a fantastic new statement floral EDP. This is just a beautiful scent all round, and in my opinion a must try!

  • Top NotesSnowdrops and Cyclamen.
  • Heart Notes: Black Tulip and Plum.
  • Base Notes: White Chocolate and Soft Woods.

Black Tulip is very reasonably priced at £55.00 for 100ml and available now at .
