Posted on December 17, 2017

Hi Guys!

Christmas is slowly creeping closer, and today I have my latest gift guide to share with you, featuring lots of gorgeous, luxury beauty goodies. You can probably guess that most products today are going to be on the pricier side – but they’re definitely worth it in my opinion – enjoy!

Starting with the stunning  – this beautiful palette contains a luxurious selection of flattering, illuminating highlighter and cheek shades that can be mix and matched to create radiant, glowing looks. The palette contains eight coordinating blush and highlighters, packaged in a luxurious box that opens to reveal a colourful 3D tree in bloom.

The beautiful  would also make fantastic Christmas treat – Diptyque always bring out the most gorgeous candle collections at Christmas time, and for 2017 they have been inspired by the universe, constellations and stars, to bring us a trio of candles with the theme of mythological cosmic animals. I have the Fiery Orange candle, with a silver dragon motif.  It features notes of Blood Orange, Smokey Wood and Cloves, evoking feelings of a hot, crackling fire.

I also have this beautiful – containing 12 mini lipsticks, each housed in a special colour-matched metallic casing, presented in a champagne presentation case – this set would make the perfect luxury gift for fans of MAC. The shades included are as follows –

The Brightening Eye Cream goes to work tackling dark circles and firming up the delicate eye area, and the Oil-Free Hydrating Cream nourishes and plumps without leaving any greasy residue.

Back to makeup now, the gorgeous  is exclusive to feel Unique this Christmas, and would make any beauty lover’s day. And how about the  – this lovely gift set includes three fabulous Aromatics Elixir products, presented in a gold gift box. The box contains a Perfume Spray, Body Smoother and Body Wash, each with a rich, warm and sensual fragrance, featuring notes of Rose, Jasmine, Oakmoss, Ylang Ylang, Vetiver, Patchouli, Musk, Amber, and Sandalwood.

The  is another fabulous fragrance set. Described as the most intimate of fragrances, La Femme is both instinctive and sophisticated, weaving a mesmerising trail around its wearer. The scent opens with notes of sultry Frangipani and Honey, leading to a heart of Ylang Ylang, Tuberose and, creamy Vanilla, with a seductive note of Vetiver in the base.

  • Top Notes: Frangipani and Honey
  • Heart notes: Tuberose and Ylang Ylang
  • Base notes: Vetiver and Vanilla

Continuing with fragrance, niche scents really have stolen my heart this year, and  is definitely a fragrance that should be on your radar. Close Up is in fact a collaboration between Olfactive Studio and established photographer Suren Manvelyan. It’s an intense dark woody gourmand fragrance, with notes of boozy and bitter sweet Cherry Liqueur, cool Star Anise and Green Coffee, which then gradually descends into a dark heart of Rose, Atlas Cedar, Patchouli and Amber, with a base of Ambergris, Musk and Tonka Beans.

  • Top Notes: Cherry, Coffee and Star Anise
  • Heart Notes: Atlas Cedar, Centifolia Rose, Patchouli and Tobacco
  • Base Notes: Ambergris, Musk and Tonka Beans

And lastly for fragrance,  is another niche scent that is definitely worth trying. Rose Millésimée is an ode to Centifolia Rose, described as an olfactory metaphor for a moment frozen in time, the reflection of a story, a region and a tradition of craftsmanship. This is easily the most beautiful rose fragrance I’ve ever had the pleasure of smelling – it’s a must try for fans of rose scents.

  • Top Notes: Spices
  • Heart Notes: Rose
  • Base Notes: Musk

Back to makeup now, this  is just perfect for somebody that loves their makeup conveniently packaged. This super chic glossy black box contains a selection of Givenchy makeup essentials, including eyeshadows, blush and highlighters on one side, and lip gloss, eyeliner and mascara on the other, with a handy mirror in the centre.

And last but not least, the  is a fantastic alternative to more ‘mainstream’ branded palettes. It includes four shades that can be used induvidually or layered effortlessly with perfection, to give natural definition to the eyes. I have the palette in 113 Hikarisango, which features a shimmering champagne highlight and vibrant coral hue, contrasted with a deep burgundy and brick brown. This is definitely one for fans of luxury makeup.

I’d love to hear if you’re picking up and luxury or high end beauty treats this Christmas? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Christmas: Beauty Stocking Fillers for All Budgets

Posted on December 13, 2017

Hi Guys!

I’m back! I feel like I’ve been out of the loop for a little while as I’ve been pretty ill. Well I’m now on the mend and I’m finally bringing you the first of my Christmas Gift Guides! (At last!) So my first guide is all about beauty stocking fillers – I’ve tried to include a range of products at differing price points so there should be something for everyone. Enjoy!

Starting with the (£49.00) – This is one of the latest releases from one of my favourite makeup brands – the Too Faced White Chocolate Palette is in fact a full-sized version of their previous mini White Chocolate Chip palette. It includes 16 pastel shades with both matte and shimmery finishes, and the palette also smells just like white chocolate!

For those that love a luxurious bubble bath, the  (£15.00) could be just perfect. Philosophy’s award-winning multi-tasking shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath conditions as it cleanses, leaving skin and hair silky soft and lightly perfumed with an ethereal floral fragrance.

Or how about the (£18.00) – I love Ted Baker gifts, they’re always beautifully packaged and just gorgeous inside and out, and The Sweet Treats Polly Fragrance is a complete steal at only £13.00 for 30ml. Polly is described as a grown-up yet girly addition to any night out, with fruity top notes of mandarin, red berries and peach, a floral heart of white jasmine, honeysuckle and peony, and a warm base of amber and vanilla topped off with white musk.

I also have the gorgeous (£20.00) – This handy little set is the perfect size for a beauty-lover’s stocking. It contains a Luxurious Liquid Liner, to deliver a line of smooth, rich colour that lasts all day, as well as a Supernova Glitter Glam Liner, which is infused with the finest iridescent sparkle, making it the perfect glitter liner for Christmas nights out.

For the liquid lipstick fan, the  (£20.00) would just be perfect. This cute little set contains a trio of mini Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks in three must have shades. There’s Beso, a beautiful true red, Caramello, a light nude beige, and Splendore Shimmer, which is a light mauve with a shimmer finish – this one is a special treat as Stila’s Shimmer Liquid Lipsticks won’t be launching individually until the Spring, so definitely keep an eye out for these!

I also have the very affordable (£12.00) – Another fab beauty trio, this time perfect for highlighting the face. This set includes Barry M’s Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops in Liquid Fortune, an Illuminating Strobe Cream Stick in Galactic, and a Fine Glitter Dust in 28.

On to another favourite brand of mine now. The (£8.50) is definitely worth considering. Sleek have got some really great products out at the moment, and this super cute Pout & Polish Set would make a fantastic stocking filler. It contains a Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit, with a matching matte finish Nail Polish.

And the (£15.50) – Rahua isn’t the most well know brand, but they do offer some fantastic haircare products, and I thought this dinky little hair duo would be a welcome find in any beauty lover’s stocking this Christmas. Ideal for those seeking a full, lustrous mane, Rahua’s The Jet Setter Voluminous Duo combines their Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner in a handy travel sized set.

Another bargain now, the (£7.99) is definitely worth picking up. This sweet little set would make the perfect budget friendly stocking filler, containing three of Maybelline’s famous Baby Lips Lip Balms, in Hydrate, Pink Punch, and Cherry Me, this ticks all the boxes for a top beauty gift.

Or how about the (£22.00) – Pixi is another favourite brand of mine, and this gorgeous Lid Lovelies Eyeshadow Palette contains a gorgeous selection of 18 tones, from light creamy nudes to intense orange and smokey charcoal, there’s enough shades here to take you easily from day to night.

Going a bit more high end now, how about the  (£46.00) – Fenty Beauty should need no introduction by now, and I really think any beauty fan would be thrilled to find one of Rhianna’s beauty products in their stocking on Christmas morning. The Match Stix Trio contains three long-wear makeup sticks, with two Match Stix Matte Skinsticks to conceal and contour, and one Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick to highlight.

Ok so I absolutely had to include the (£20.00) – As soon as I saw the new Kat Von D Glimmer Veils I knew I had to try them – and I definitely wasn’t disappointed! These are honestly the most vivid, sparkly and just amazing liquid lipsticks that I’ve ever seen. I’ll be sharing full reviews on the blog soon, but in the meantime just google swatches and you’ll see what I mean!

I thought I’d also include the fab (£32.00) – This fabulously fun palette contains three colourful highlighters, in shades Seashell: a sparkling lavender, Pearl: a sparkling ivory, and Seafoam: a sparkling blue/green. This is a must have for mermaid fans!

Another brand that alway brings out fun and innovative collections is Kiko. The (£19.90) is definitely wort checking out. You’ll probably know by know that I’m a massive fan of Kiko Cosmetics, and their latest limited edition collection is just perfect for Christmas time. I have a few products from the Arctic Holiday collection, but I wanted to include the All In One Palette here, as it’s a fab, reasonably priced full face and eye palette. It contains two face-sculpting powders, a blush, a highlighter, and 9 eyeshadows.

For nail fans, how about the (£14.50) – This lovely little set contains Jessica’s best-selling intensive cuticle moisturiser Phenomen Oil, which is the perfect treat for dry nails during the winter months, as well as a Custom Colour Nail Polish in Nude Thrills, which is a pretty nude beige with a touch of sparkle.

And lastly, I have the  (£18.00 each) – Zoeva always manage to bring out the most gorgeous palettes, and the Opulence collection is no exception. The eyeshadow palette contains ten vibrant shades in a mixture of polished neutrals and vibrant statement colours, in both matte and metallic finishes. The Blush Palette has also been carefully curated to include everything you need for an uplifting, subtly sculpted cheek look, containing two floral-inspired blushers and a shimmering champagne highlighter.

I hope this has given you some inspiration! I’ll have more gift guides coming up very soon 😀 I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: My Thoughts on Beauty Bakerie Products

Posted on July 31, 2017

Hi Guys!

One of the most exciting beauty brands I’ve heard about of late is Beauty Bakerie. If you haven’t heard of this brand, Beauty Bakerie is a US based brand, launched in 2011 by Cashmere Nicole…

I wanted to create a brand that contradicted the popular ‘bad girl’ persona the mainstream was pedaling – to show girls that there’s nothing wrong with upholding a sweet and friendly nature. Life is sure to hand all of us its lemons but I strongly believe it is up to us to change our perspective. I overcame the struggles of teenage parenting, I overcame breast cancer and loss only to arrive to a place of peace. It is the sweetest peace I’ve known. Truly indescribable. This, Beauty Bakerie, is a piece of that peace that I wanted to share with you.

Beauty Bakerie products are available to buy in the UK at ASOS, and I have a whole bundle of them to share with you today –

Starting with the  (£32.00) – This fab little palette contains twelve warm toned eyeshadows, with seven shimmer shades and five mattes. The shades are mostly neutral, easy to wear colours, but Beauty Bakerie have also included a couple of brights to give eyes a pop of colour. The formula is smooth and really well pigmented, and I love the shades Sliced Almonds and Powdered Sugar especially.

Unfortunately my swatches photo really did not do these shades justice, so if you’d like to see any more photos please just let me know and I’ll take some more pictures 🙂

Next I have the  (£27.00) – This cute little ice cream tub contains a super sparkly, glistening powder highlighter. I have to say, though I love the look of the packaging, I don’t think it’s that practical. There is a circle of holes where you dispense the product out, and I just think they’re too big – it got pretty messy when I was trying this out!

The highlighter itself comes in four shades (I have Frosted, which is a light champagne pink) and has a very light powder texture. If you’re a fan of particularly sparkly highlighters, this is definitely worth a try.

I’ve also been trying out a few of Beauty Bakerie’s Liquid Lipsticks. The (£16.00) have a metallic shimmer finish and are available in 10 colours. (Starting from the top swatch) I have shades Vitamin Sea which is an intense metallic blue, and Berried, a metallic deep wine red. Though these are metallic / shimmer lipsticks, you can see they dry down to a matte finish, which I love. The formula lasts for hours and is both smudge proof and water proof.

I also have four of the standard – the third swatch down is Yoghurt Berries, an intense, creamy fuchsia, next is Fortune Cookie, a warm peach toned beige, next is Swiss Mocha Frappe, a light greige nude, and lastly Bae Cake, a deep sea blue. All these shades have a creamy liquid formula, that dries to a really nice matte finish.

I’m also completely in love with the (£14.50) – This dinky little cream eyeshadow pot gives the most amazingly pigmented finish. I have shade Lick The Spoon, which is a highly metallic cool toned silver. The formula is creamy and easy to apply, and the finish is pretty matte. I found applying this with a finger worked the best for me, but you can also use a brush – and you can also use this as eyeliner. There are nine shades available in all, and I think I definitely need to snap a few more up!

I also have a (£14.50) – This looks quite similar to the cream eyeshadow in the pot, but this has a much heavier texture. This long lasting gel eyeliner has a smudge proof and waterproof formula, and applies like a dream with a decent eyeliner brush. This will literally last all day too – I love it!

And lastly the (£9.50) – Even though I’m a massive fan of glitter, this is probably my least favourite out of the bunch. There’s nothing wrong with the glitter at all, I just feel that for £9.50 you’re getting a very small amount of product here – I can’t see anywhere on the packaging where it tells you exactly how much product you’re getting. It’s a small amount though, and for £9.50 you can almost buy 2x (£5.50 each) which looks to have at least three times as much product (at a guess).

I do however really like the Sprinkles Glue which you need to get the glitter to stick to your face and / or body. It’s a clear glue that comes in a handy little tube with a lip gloss style applicator. Unfortunately this is no longer available on the ASOS site, but you can pick up the as a fab alternative.

Beauty News: Sephora X Moschino Golden Teddy Collection!

Posted on July 16, 2017

Hi Guys!

I’ve literally just heard about the upcoming Sephora X Moschino collaboration collection, and I instantly had to find out as much as I could! I LOVE Moschino, so I can’t even tell you how excited I am!! 😀

Ok so this is Moschino’s first ever makeup line – they already have a selection of fragrances available, but this is their first dabble with makeup. In collaboration with Sephora Collection, Moschino will be launching a seven piece collection at Sephora in August. Some of the stand out products include –

  • A ‘This is not a Moschino toy’ Bear Eyeshadow Palette ($60.00) – this palette is said to be LARGE!
  • A Bear Brush Set ($68.00) – including five brushes with bear heads.
  • A Bear Head Highlighter Palette ($28.00) – including two highlighter shades.
  • A Bear Lip Gloss Chain Necklace ($40.00) – including six lip glosses.
  • A Moschino Logo Shopping Bag Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($23.00)

Other items in the collection include a Bear Eye Mask ($25.00) made of super-soft faux fur, as well as a Bear Compact Mirror ($28.00). The whole range features the iconic Moschino teddy bear, and each product also has a striking high shine gold finish.

And I have to say, I’m really impressed with the price points too, considering Moschino is a high end luxury brand, the prices are very reasonable indeed. Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott explained that that keeping the collection affordable was important to him –

I learned very early on how much young people love my work, and sometimes they don’t have the means to get it. This is another way for me to do Moschino and not sacrifice quality. It’s a lot more accessible. I love to be able to put my arms around more people and have them be a part of the Moschino family in some capacity.

From what I can see, the collection will be available at Sephora in August, I’ll update this post as soon as I know the exact release dates. Seriously though, just looking at this packaging makes me HAPPY!

Are you as excited about this collection as I am? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: Too Faced Natural Love Collection

Posted on June 29, 2017

Hi Guys!

The gorgeous Natural Love collection from Too Faced has recently landed at TSNC HQ, and I have the full lowdown for you today!

Starting with the lovely  (£52.00) – this beautiful palette contains a massive 30 eyeshadow shades, so though it might seem pricey at £52.00, it only works out at £1.73 per shadow, which is actually very reasonable. This is a must have palette for fans of nude and natural looks, but it also includes some darker shades so you can easily create a more in-depth smoky eye if required.

To create this palette, Too Faced selected their favourite neutral shades from three previous bestselling eye palettes – the Natural Eyes, Natural Matte, and Natural At Night palettes. They then paired these eyeshadows with cutting-edge textures and brand new colours – giving a modern spin on the traditional nude eye look. The Natural Love palette contains 7 matte, 13 shimmer and 10 sparkle shades, and the formula of all the shades is silky smooth, and well pigmented.

I haven’t had a chance to try all the shades out in depth as yet, but from what I have tried, I can tell you that Hot & Bothered is fabulous! It’s such a gorgeous burnt orange that really does give amazing colour payoff. Others to note are Love Bug, Push Up and Coffee Date – which are also all shimmer shades – these are definitely the best in terms of finish, and some of my favourite colours from the palette.

Next I have the  (£25.00) – which truly are stunning. I literally love everything about these highlighters! The idea is that Too Faced wanted to capture the ethereal glow that occurs only when you’re in love – aww! This resulted in three beautiful shades, each with an innovative liquid-to-powder formula featuring a luminosity boosting agent and high pearl consistency. These highlighters really do give the most fantastic pearl shimmer finish – without any glitter or chunkiness.

The Love Light Highlighters are available in three shades –

  • You Light Up My Life – a golden yellow.
  • Blinded By The Light  – a champagne silver.
  • Ray of Light – a light beige pink.

And lastly the  (£19.00) – six new shades of Melted Mattes have been introduced in the Natural Love collection, and if you’re not familiar with the Melted Matte formula, you really need to check it out! These are one of my all time favourite liquid lipsticks – they apply like a smooth gloss, giving full, rich colour, and dry down to a true mate finish that lasts for hours.

Swatches from top to bottom –

  • Granny Panties – a lilac toned greige.
  • Wine Not? – a deep wine berry.
  • Wicked – an intense green.
  • Suck It – a muted rose.
  • Holy Chic! – a light nude peach.
  • Jawbreaker – a cool toned intense pink.

Though I’m not a fan of the name, I love the colour of Granny Panties (ha ha!) and I also love Wicked as it’s such an unusual, intense green.

Overall I’m really impressed with this collection. The palette is fantastic and just full of easy to wear shades. The highlighters look beautiful on the skin, and I also love the new innovative shades of the Melted Mattes. I’d love to hear what you think?

Posted on June 12, 2017

Hi Guys!

I have another limited edition collection from MAC to share with you today – this time it’s in collaboration with Korean contemporary womenswear designers Steve J and Yoni P – I must admit I hadn’t heard of them before, but after looking them up I’ve pretty much fallen in love with their designs. Think high end casual wear, with an injection of youthful humour and colour…

Korean design duo Steve J. and Yoni P. strike a spunky balance between flirty frills and sporty thrills. Now, the couple introduces a M·A·C collection as cheeky and progressive as their fashion! Pinks, smoky-warm neutrals and playful, graphic packaging tap into the vibe of Seoul street style.

The Steve J & Yoni P Mac collection is quite extensive, including a large range of colour cosmetics as well as brushes and a makeup bag, all featuring a playful limited edition print.

Beauty: Nip & Fab Launches New Makeup Line!

Posted on June 8, 2017

Hi Guys!

A few weeks ago now I received a surprise package from the team behind Nip & Fab – and I was so excited to find it contained a selection of products from their brand new makeup line.

Nip & Fab have been making high quality, reasonably priced skincare products for many years now, so I think makeup is a great addition to their range, as well as being a natural progression for the brand. Let’s take a look at the products…

Ok so Nip & Fab have launched quite a large range of makeup products initially, which is great news. Starting with the Foundation (£12.95) – there are 10 shades available, which look to span a decent range of colours, and they’ve also included a pure white Foundation Light Mixer to lighten any foundation you may already have, and a dark brown Foundation Dark Mixer, to deepen your foundation should you want to.

I have the foundation in shade 25, which as you can see definitely isn’t the right shade for me, but it appears to give a nice natural / dewy finish with medium coverage.

I tried mixing it with some of the foundation lightener to get a better shade, and though the lightener worked well to change the colour, it still didn’t really work as the right colour for me. I already have a foundation that is slightly too dark for me (but otherwise the right tone) so I’m going to try the Light Mixer with that and see if I can get a spot on match.

Next on to the Colour Correctors (£8.95). These come in a selection of four shades, to help correct any colour issues you may have –

  • Banana – This yellow toned corrector is great for concealing dark under eye circles and can be used to subtly highlight and brighten the high points of the face.
  • Lavender – This purple toned corrector eliminates any unwanted yellow undertones to the skin and works well under foundation to create a perfectly even-toned complexion.
  • Terracotta – The warm orange tone neutralises blue undertones and is ideal for concealing under eye circles and dark spots.
  • Peppermint – This green toned corrector neutralises redness on the skin and is ideal for covering blemishes and reducing irregular skin pigmentation.

For the lips, Nip & Fab have included Liquid Lipsticks (£7.95) and a small selection of Lip Liners (£5.95) in their launch. I have the full collection of Liquid Lipsticks which I thought would be worth swatching and sharing, as the colours look quite similar when placed together. The shades are all light to medium nudes including beige, pink and brown tones –

From left to right –

  • Cinnamon – a mid toffee brown nude.
  • Toffee – a mid caramel nude.
  • Biscuit – a warm brown caramel nude.
  • Marshmallow – a mid peach toned nude.
  • Pink Lemonade – a light pink toned nude.
  • Candy – a light beige pink nude.
  • Tart – a light cool toned nude.
  • Cool Nude – a light cool toned beige.

(Since trying these, Nip & Fab have also added three new slightly darker nude shades of Liquid Lipsticks to their site – Brownie, Spice and Brandy)

And here are the swatches – somehow I managed to misplace Cinnamon between photographing it and swatching, and I still haven’t found it. It’s literally just disappeared! So the above swatches start on the left with Toffee.

I have to say my favourite shades are Biscuit, Marshmallow and Pink Lemonade – these are all slightly pink or peach toned, and aren’t too light, which I think make them easier to wear. I’ve worn a couple of these and they dry down in decent time and last for hours before you need to re-apply.

Nip & Fab have also included a nice selection of palettes in their initial launch. There are eyeshadow palettes and contour palettes, and a single highlighter palette and blush palette. I have the Contour Palette in Dark and the Highlighter Palette.

The Highlighter Palette (£15.00) contains six large sized pans –

  • Selfie – a light cream coloured shimmer.
  • Champagne – a warm champagne shimmer.
  • Golden – a slightly yellow toned shimmer.
  • Sunbeam – a light golden bronze.
  • Rose Gold – a warm rose gold.
  • Sunkissed – a deep warm bronze.

The three lighter shades work best for me just because I’m super pale. I also love the darker shades used as eyeshadows.

And lastly I have the Contour Palette in Dark (£15.00). Again this contains six decent sized pans, this time they are all matte shades –

  • Tan – a light caramel brown.
  • Chestnut – a mid reddish brown.
  • Cocoa – a deep warm brown.
  • Sugar – a light peach.
  • Soft Honey – a light warm brown, slightly lighter than Tan.
  • Sunset – a bright terracotta orange.

These shades are all quite warm toned, and far too dark for my fair skin tone personally – but again I’ve used these a few times as eyeshadows and they work really well!

Nip & Fab’s range of makeup is available now at
