ASOS Accessories Sale Haul!

Hi Guys!

Ooh I do love a good bargain, and I’m pretty much guaranteed to grab something from ASOS’s regular sales every single time. They have SO MANY things on offer, from fashion, to accessories, to gifts to stationery (I actually just picked up some gorgeous stationery bits the other day!)

I’ve been part of Access All ASOS for a while now and they’ve kindly given me a £50 voucher to shop the sale – woo hoo! £50 isn’t really that much to go shopping with these days, but when there’s a sale on I think I’ll be able to grab quite a few bargains! I originally had my sites set on beauty, accessories and possibly shoes…

Ok so you can see I didn’t end up picking up and beauty items, or shoes for that matter! Shoe shopping online can be a bit problematic for me as I’m a 5.5 so shoes often end up not fitting well. I decided to stay safe and went for accessories and stationery this time instead! Oh and I did cheat a little bit… the sale actually started on Monday at 8am, but as I’m part of ASOS Premier, ASOS often email their Premier customers with sale previews, so I sorted the whole of the sale into price order with cheapest first on Sunday evening (obv so I could get the best bargains) and added everything to my save list that I liked the look of. Then when Monday morning came I was all ready to purchase 😀

Here’s what I picked up!

  • (£13.00 not in sale)
  • (£19.99 not in sale)
  • (£4.00)
  • (£7.00)
  • Stance Twister Block Socks (£8.00)
  • (£4.00)
  • (£6.00)
  •  (£3.50)
  •  (£3.50)
  •  (£19.50)

I’m a bit of a magpie and ended up with quite a lot of jewellery, but I snapped up some fantastic bargains – the Gorjana bracelet for example was originally £95, and I got it for less than £20! I’d also highly recommend signing up to ASOS Premier, it’s only £10 for a years’ subscription and you receive free next day delivery with all orders, no matter how small, as well as free courier collection returns – saving you going to the post office, and not forgetting sale previews so you get the best picks of the sale before all the good stuff sells out!

I’m really pleased with my haul, I hope you enjoyed my post and I’d love to hear if you picked up anything in the ASOS sale? xxx

A Personal Post, and Two New Outfits

Posted on March 30, 2015

Hi Guys,

I really want to say happy Monday! And be all cheery and full of sunshine for you. But already this morning I’ve woken up late, broken a nail and banged the side of my head getting into the car so I feel like I’ve been punched in the ear. Can I start again!?

Today I want to talk about some personal issues, and I want to be honest with you. I’ve been putting off / avoiding outfit posts more and more because I feel so self conscious of my size and weight. I’ve put on a massive chunk of weight (five stones in fact) over the last 18 months and it’s really knocked my confidence. I’ve been trying to think of how to share my thoughts and feelings about this, but it’s so hard to get the words out right, I keep writing this and re-writing this again and again, so I’m just going to go for it…

Basically I feel completely torn. On one hand I want to jump around in my favourite loud and colourful clothes whilst giving the world the middle finger. I want to say this is me, this is what I look like, and if you have a problem with that, then it says a lot more about you that it does me. But unfortunately as much as I want to, I don’t feel like that most of the time. Most of the time I want to hide away because I feel so self conscious. I don’t like the fact that my whole body wobbles when I walk. I don’t like feeling uncomfortable in my clothes, and in my own skin. It’s been really getting to me, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to accept myself as I am in order to start making positive changes… so here I am.

This is what I look like.

Will people judge me? Maybe. Do I care? I really want to say no, but I wouldn’t be writing this if that was the truth, so I do care a bit.

Even though I’m not feeling great about myself at the moment, I really want this post to have a positive message behind it. If you’re a size 8, 18 or 28. IT’S YOUR LIFE. It’s your body and your choice. If you’re big and want to lose weight, fantastic, do it! If you’re slim and unhappy and you want to gain weight – do it!

We all need to do what makes us happy, you can’t live your life worrying about what other people will think or doing as they expect. (see how I’m contradicting myself there) I find it quite cathartic writing this down so I’m hoping by the end of the post I’ll have made some sort of peace with myself.

In the above picture I’m wearing the Sheer Tears Sequin Dress Isolated Heroes, this is one of my favourite stores, expensive but they make everything by hand, and definitely worth every penny.

You couldn’t see my shoes very well through the grass so I’ve taken a separate photo of my shoes and accessories for you. I recently bought this Silver Gem Stripe Panel Clutch from  in the sale – a bargain at £10, and these gorgeous Rosalie Pose Sandals from Clarks Shoes will just be perfect for the coming warmer weather. My sunnies are from Nasty Gal.

So I’ve put on all this weight for various reasons; I’ve been suffering with anxiety and depression, but mostly depression. I’ve been comfort eating and feeling like I have no control over my habits. The situation I was in got to a point where I couldn’t carry on like I was, and I had to do something about it – so I did. I’ve now made certain changes in my life, so things should be on the up from now on. I’ve been wanting to cut out my bad habits and start a healthier lifestyle for a long time now, and that’s exactly what I’m now starting to do.

In this outfit my t-shirt is from . I also bought a few others in their sale which I’m hoping to get into when I’ve lost some weight. Their prints are amazing!

The accessories for this outfit included a gold tone gem necklace from Nasty Gal, these amazing Silver Glitter Gem Tie Up Block Heels from , they were £39.99 down to £22.00 – and yes they do actually match the bag above. And my old trusty Nasty Gal bag.

I’m sorry if any of this doesn’t make sense. I’ll have a post up shortly explaining what’s happened exactly and what my plans are moving forward. I do feel better for ‘coming out’ and getting this all off my chest though. I’m really looking forward to a new beginning xxx

Two New Looks For Spring…

Posted on February 26, 2015

Hi Guys!

I absolutely love fashion, and I’m now trying to add more fashion type posts to my blog – the thing I’m having a problem with though is the fact that I can’t take photos of myself! I don’t have anyone around that can take photos for me, so I need to look into a remote for my camera, and get a tripod! (If anyone can recommend a remote, please let me know) In the mean time I quite like putting looks and outfits together – on my kitchen floor for the time being! 🙂 Here are a couple I’ve done with some of the awesome new things I’ve acquired lately, I’ve put together one casual look and one for evening!

casual-accessories

I bought this lovely top in the F&F sale at Christmas, it was reduced to £6 or something and I wear it all the time, it’s slightly baggy so it covers everything up and I love the gold shoulder detail, it also has an exposed zip detail at the back. Wins all round!! I’m also obsessed with necklaces, and I love this pretty triangle stone necklace which I bought from Topshop ages ago, and I happened to recently stumble across in a drawer so I haven’t actually worn yet. For a toned down casual look I’ve started to wear these gorgeous Safari Boots from Calzados Victoria – they have the softest furry lining and I definitely prefer wearing them folded down rather than laced up to the top for a more relaxed look. I’m also part of Access All ASOS, they set up a secret santa blogger gift swap at Christmas, where they gave everyone involved a £15 voucher to spend on the site to buy gifts for someone else, what a lovely idea! Except my parcel never arrived 🙁 so they kindly gave me the voucher to buy something for myself, they’re good guys at ASOS! I treated myself to these awesome , a bargain at a tenner, and the scarf in the below pic 🙂 The pink and blue scarf is also from ASOS a looong time ago.

going-out-accessories

And this is my going out look! I’m in love with these amazing Cassie Cut out Ankle Boots from Online Avenue, they literally tick all the boxes for me – gold details, cut outs and a platform, check, check and check, and they’re a complete bargain at just over £20 too! I bought the  from ASOS as it just has such a lovely pattern. I literally live in scarves most of the year! I also included this pretty Crackle Stone & Rope Chain Necklace from  (sorry it’s not available any more) and if you look closely you’ll see it’s missing a stone, arrgh!! I always manage to damage or break my necklaces!

And lastly, I had to include my gorgeous new  from Baginc, ahh I can’t get enough of it! It’s pretty much a spot on dupe for the Chanel Boy which I’ve needed in my life and desperately lusted after for a long time now, but unfortunately my budget doesn’t quite fit with the £2.6k price tag, ouch! The beautiful Ingrid bag is made of real leather and apart from the lack of branding, which I really don’t mind (it also means it’s not a copy or fake) it’s SO similar to the Chanel. I think I can live without the designer version now, I can’t wait to take my Ingrid out!

I’d love to hear what you think of my two looks? And I promise I’ll have some full outfit posts coming up soon! xxx

Ugly Christmas Jumpers

Posted on November 30, 2014

Hi Guys!

Now December is officially looming upon us I feel I can freely talk about the ‘C’ word without upsetting any one – oh except my other half, who believes all Christmas presents should be bought on Christmas eve, and the tree should be up for no more than two weeks, yes his name is Scrooge. Today I was going to talk about ‘Novelty Jumpers of Christmas Past’ – you know the ones, you were ten years old and dreaded opening that present from Granny, you knew it would be another hideous knitted Christmas jumper that you’d be forced to wear on Christmas day, and you’d even have to write her a thank you card telling her how much you loved it. Then because she thought you loved it, she’d knit you an even more hideous one the next year. Ahh good times!

Unfortunately I have no photographic evidence of any of my old Christmas jumpers to show you (they were probably ‘accidentally’ distroyed at some point) Even one of my more recent favourite Christmas jumpers, a vintage black number with gold sparkly snowflakes all over has seemed to miss being caught on camera.

Over the last few years, Christmas jumpers have officially become a ‘thing’, whether you go for novelty, cheesy, or traditional, you are no one if you don’t have some sort of Christmas jumper. This was last year’s effort –

And no I don’t know who those people are. I have this jumper but can’t find it and can’t find any pictures of me in it I’m afraid! I have to say I’m a big fan of the brighter / louder / more ridiculous the better! IF IT LIGHTS UP THEN I WANT IT!

This year though, New Look have kindly sent me this Brave Soul -Let It Snow Jumper, I think it’s rather smart and understated really! – it’s also currently reduced from £24.99 to £18.50 too! 😀 New Look have loads of awesome jumpers in stock so make sure you check out their site if you’re still looking for one!

To celebrate the modern day Crimbo jumper tradition, I thought I’d put together a few amazing / ugly / hideous Christmas jumpers for your enjoyment and possible inspiration…

I particularly like the ‘cone-boob-snowmmans-nose’ DIY one, I may try this myself 🙂

So what do you think of this new tradition? Are you a Crimbo jumper fan or wouldn’t be seen dead on one?

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

#MCM Man Crush Monday with New Look

Posted on September 8, 2014

justin timberlake

Hi Guys!

To celebrate the up and coming relaunch of New Look’s menswear range, I’ve been asked to put together a little wish list to style my Man Crush, who is no other than snake-hipped Justin Timberlake 🙂

Now as you probably know, JT is famous for his super slick style… I’ll keep the  era safely locked away in my mind where it’s no longer accessible, but apart from that – oh and the  disaster from 2001 (I blame Britney) he’s definitely evolved into a super-stylish, slim-suited rather dashing young man. (I originally had some other, rather adventurous descriptive words in there which I thought I’d better take out!)

I’ve put together a little look from the New Look  for my lovely Justin, it’s smart-cash, autumnal, simple and easy to wear. What more does a boy need? I’ve even added his signature trilby hat coz I’m nice like that. I’d make such a good girlfriend, don’t you think? (Yes I know I’m married, and he’s married, these are minor details…)

Jumper  |  Bracelet  |  Trainers  |  Trousers  |  Hat  |  T-Shirt  |  Watch

So what do you think? Can you see JT in this get up? I think my other half would go for most of it too except the hat and bracelet, he’s not ready for accessories yet bless him.

I’d love to hear who your man crush is!? Especilally if it’s anyone unusual?? (Go on tell me, I won’t tell anyone 😉 )

My Favourite Prom Dress!

Hi Guys!

Today New Look have asked me to talk about prom dresses! I didn’t even hesitate when they asked me, I love prom dresses! The last prom (we called it a ‘Leaving Do’) I attended was when I left sixth form, many years ago. Ok it was 12 years ago, eek! I couldn’t find any photos (phew!) but I remember I wore a floor length strapless fitted gown made of shimmery peach coloured taffeta. It was amazing – at the time! Hey it was 2002, don’t judge me! 😀

There weren’t and still aren’t many options for posh frocks where I live, the basic idea was you were expected to wear a full length gown, so I went to my local frock shop and I remember hating everything. When I saw the peach dress I thought it was ok, then I had a seamstress fit it properly for me and I loved it!

My latest prom dress experience was at my wedding last year. I had an amazing Justin Alexander wedding dress but was concerned about ruining it by either dropping food down it or ripping the train at the evening reception with everyone drinking and things getting a bit lary! So I hunted for what seemed like forever to find the perfect vintage prom dress. I looked everywhere I could find online, ebay, etsy, you name it. I was even looking at US sites and considering importing one. Then I just happened to be wandering round my local town and strolled into a shop I’d never been in before, it had a small selection of vintage clothes at the back, and there it was – the dress! It was an original 1950’s turquoise blue calf length prom dress, with a fitted body, circle skirt and sequinned netting. It was perfect, and obviously meant to be! I bought it straight away wore this for the evening party with a pair of ASOS holographic shoes to jazz it up a bit 🙂 I loved wearing this dress so much, it’s perfect for dancing in!

To celebrate how prom dresses, styles and looks have evolved over the decades. New Look have put together a mini interactive graphic…

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx
