Posted on April 15, 2013

I’ve been so busy lately I completely forgot to let you guys know (and brag) about my Lush Lacquer mini haul! How gorgeous are these polishes!?

Clowning Around is definitely my favourite out of all of these, it’s a clear base with bright neon coloured hexes scattered throughout. Just as an example, this is how it looks on top of a white base (image courtesy of )

How amazing is that!!!

OOTD and Competition Win!

Posted on March 24, 2013

Last week I was so excited to find out I’d won £130 of makeup in a competition from RVB Cosmetics, an Italian cosmetics company. I won the RVB Color Therapy New Classic Lip and Nail collection, which consists of 5 lipsticks and 5 nail polishes.

image

The lipsticks are numbered 1-5 (in order above) I haven’t tested them yet but number 5 is definitely my favourite at the moment. The cases feel of good quality, fingers crossed the lipsticks will be good quality too!

image

I love the nail polish colours, again numbered 1 – 5, I though as I was going out last night I’d give the polishes a test!

image

I was in a rush so only had time to do one coat, you can see the colours are very pigmented and opaque, I would have preferred two coats but think I just got away with one!

image

(also note to self, paint nails after putting on jewellery!)

image

I wore my new River Island (ebay) aztec jacket, vintage quilted bag and lots of jewellery!

Hope everyone has had a great weekend! xxx

Taste The Rainbow.

Well it’s been pretty cold and miserabe lately, we’ve had snow for Mothers Day here! Luckily it’s now melting and gradually getting warmer. So I thought I’d paint my nails in some nice bright colours to cheer myself up! These colours remind me of childhood, parties, balloons, sweets (Skittles??) and happy times! I can’t wait to get some nail art pens and get creative too! xx

Ciate Very Colourfoil Manicure Review!

Posted on March 5, 2013

I was so excited to receive the Ciate Very Colourfoil Manicure set in the post yesterday!  I couldn’t wait to get home from work and try it out! I have the ‘Kaleidoscope Klash’ set, described as ‘A manicure kit for creating a raw foil finish with a mirror-like shine that goes beyond a regular metallic polish for an edgy runway look.’ This set has a mint coloured nail polish, and red, pink, gold, blue, and two different silver metallic and holographic foils. There are two further sets with different polishes and foils.

image

What’s in the box: Ciate Paint Pot in ‘Pepperminty’, Foil Fix glue, 30x Colourfoil sheets, Nail wheel for practicing and instructions.

image

The idea is pretty straightforward, you paint your nails with two coats of nail polish,

image

I love this colour!

image

Then you apply the glue where you want the foil to stick, wait a minute for the glue to become tacky, then press on one of the foil sheets,

image

You then rip the sheet off like a plaster, and hey presto, shiny foil nails!

image

You can then repeat this as much as you like with the different coloured foils, I went for pink and silver.

image

image

What I like about it is that you don’t know how the nail will look until you rip the foil off! So I  thought I’d add some red too!

I absolutely love this, I can’t wait to try out different looks with different base colours!

What do you think? xx

Ciate Wow Collection Holographic Jewel Nail Polish Review and Swatches

Posted on February 17, 2013

I bought this polish from ASOS the other day after lusting after it for ages. ‘This shimmering paint pot gives your manicure that instant sparkle factor with pieces of Jewel coloured strands that catch the light, reflecting a multi-coloured tone.’ Here are the results –

Firstly I thought I’d better cut my nails as they’re getting a bit long and wonkey!

image

This is better, I then added a Sally Hansen clear base coat.

image

Jewel has a sheer purple, almost clear base so I decided to use Nails Inc Putney Bridge as a base colour. This is a fabulous colour and only one coat was needed.

image

image

I then added one coat of jewel. The sparkles transferred to my nails really well, I found that using short strokes helped transfer them.

image

image

image

And then I added a second coat, and WOW it looked amazing!!

image

image

image

image

image

The result really was fantastic! The lilac sparkles catch the light and because they are also holographic, you get multi-dimensional rainbow sparkles, amazing!! Unfortunately my camera couldn’t capture the depth of the sparkles very well, I took some more pictures under a direct light so you can get an idea of the holographic effect. (excuse the bottles in the picture below, this was taken under the light on my kitchen counter 🙂

Ciate Jewel costs £9 and is available direct from Ciate here and from ASOS here.

New ASOS Goodies…

Posted on February 15, 2013

I won a £10 ASOS voucher on  the other day so thought I’d treat myself to a couple of goodies! You had to spend a minimum of £11 on a single full priced item for the voucher to work, so I bought an

And a bottle of

Jewel

I’d had my eye on the scarf and the nail polish for a while, but couldn’t justify spending £21 on things I didn’t need. But with £10 off it was a bargain! I can’t wait to try out the Ciate!

I’ll take some pictures soon and add them!

have now ran out of the ASOS vouchers, they have plenty of other prizes though including an iPod Shuffle, a cupcake maker, and House of Frazer vouchers.

If you haven’t used it before, it’s pretty straightforward, you ‘add’ or ‘want’ items you like by copying and pasting a link to the item, or clicking on an item somebody else has added, this then adds the item to your page and you receive points or an increase to your ‘trend score’. You then receive further points/trend score if somebody else wants the same item, buys an item on your page, of if you recommend somebody to sign up. You collect your points and exchange for prizes, simple as that! If anyone want’s to join  is my link! 🙂
