My Current Budget Dry Skin Saviours

Posted on October 17, 2014

Hi Guys!

If you’re a sufferer of dry skin like me, you’ll know that as the weather gets colder your skin KNOWS, and it doesn’t like the change in temperature one little bit. Skin becomes dryer, irritated and more sensitive, and requires a whole new set of products to tackle the problems that the colder weather brings. So with this in mind I’ve put together some my favourite purse-friendly skincare saviours for those with dry skin…

(£13.60) – Keeping your skin moisturised really is key. If you’re like me and you’re a bit lax with your skincare regime (sorry), make sure you at least use a daily moisturiser. I’m loving this Natio Daily Moisturiser at the moment, it’s lightweight so it’s perect for every day wear, it has a non-greasy formula that helps protect skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, and it’s enriched with organic rosehip oil, lavender and lemon to leave skin hydrated, soft and smooth.

Mary Elizabeth Juniper & Jojoba Hand Cream (£9.50) – And while your at it, don’t forget your hands! We use our hands all the time, they are one of the most active parts of the body, but do we look after them? Well I don’t. I’m a handcare novice. It’s never really been something I thought about until now. I’ve recently started using this Mary Elizabeth hand cream and it really is working wonders for my tired old hands. Nurturing Juniper Oil soothes skin, whilst Jojoba Oil has antiseptic properties and helps to retain moisture. Other active ingredients include Calendula Oil which calms and promotes suppleness for youthful looking hands.

(£2.69) – My lips are literally a sore point for me most of the year round, so come winter I like to up my lip care game. This Carmex Lip Balm lives in my makeup bag for relieving dry lips on the go, and it really does work wonders. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the product comes in a pot, so you have to stick your finger in to apply. I can live with it though!

(£4.00) – If you’re susceptible to dry patches on your skin that require a little extra TLC than what your regular moisturiser can offer, get some of this Anatomicals Dry Relief Balm on and let it work it’s magic. High Noon For The Prune is a natural remedy for eczema and extremely dry skin. The formula includes all-natural ingredients and features the amazing healing power of the Cocus Nucifera Extract and Gardenia Tahitensis. This stuff will really soothe the driest skin, and it can also be used on sunburn, rashes, and minor scrapes and burns. It’s suitable for children too which is super handy, so this is definitely a handbag essential for me.

(£9.95) – This is one of Weleda’s oldest products, originating from 1926. A product that stands the test of time like that really says something to me! Weleda Skin Food is a nourishing and hydrating treatment for the whole body, especially hands, feet and elbows. It’s is a deep-penetrating replenishing skin repair cream for skin that is dry, flaky and in need of extra care. Made with organic sunflower seed oil, and extracts of wild pansy, chamomile, calendula and revitalising rosemary extract to perk up tired skin, it’s a great rescue remedy for lack-lustre or generally undernourished complexions.

I hope this post has been useful, and please let me know if you’ve tried any of these products! xxx

NEW Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly | Review

Posted on July 24, 2014

Hi Guys!

Well it looks like Indeed Labs have done it again, firstly they bring out Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Serum, one of the most anticipated skincare products this year, and now they follow up with Hydraluron Moisture Jelly! As soon as I tried them the Moisture Boosting Serum and Moisture Masks rocketed straight to the top of my favourite skincare products this summer, I completely swear by them – so I soon as I heard of the new Moisture Jelly I knew I had to give it a go!

The Moisture Jelly is a fabulous lightweight formula that just melts into the skin, leaving no grease residue or tackiness, it soaks in and leaves your skin feeling hydrated, smooth and supple. It’s also perfect for all skin types, so whether your dry, sensitive, oily or combination you can be confident that this is a great product for you.

The Moisture Jelly is made to be used along side the Moisture Serum, so be sure to use them both as part of your daily skincare routine to really pack a punch! As the weather has been boiling my blood and melting my skin recently, I’ve been keeping these little babies in the fridge, and I have to say I can’t wait to get home at the end of the day and apply these to my weary face for an instant pick-me-up! Just imagine a sweltering hot day, you’re outside in the sun and somebody hands you a large glass of fresh cool lemonade, with ice and lemon and a straw, you take a sip, then a gulp, and it’s the most amazing refreshing feeling ever. Well this is like that, but for your skin 😀

There’s also some pretty interesting sciency stuff behind the product too – did you know hydraluron contains a pure form of hyaluronic acid, an incredibly hydrating ingredient that holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water? And the jelly uses a combination of 5 scientifically proven ingredients to help provide instant and sustained moisture to skin. Suspended in a hyaluronic acid matrix this refreshing jelly features PatcH20™, a micro network complex that helps to lock in moisture leaving skin soft, supple and glowing.

So yeah, this is pretty awesome stuff! Apologies for waffling on there, I think I got a bit carried away! I’m guessing you can tell that I kinda like this product, so please let me know if you’ve tried it and if you love it as much as I do! xxx

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly is now available at , and you can currently save a third so it’s only £16.66 instead of £24.99, go go go! xxx

Edelweiss Milky Cleanser & Essence Cream | Review

Posted on July 5, 2014

Hi Guys!

If you’re a regular Twitter user you may have seen a while back a company called Edelweiss appeared as if by magic on the beauty scene. These guys originate from Australia and to announce their arrival with a bang they generously selected 75 UK beauty bloggers to trial their limited edition “Eternal Beauty’ skincare starter set, including a 30ml Milky Cleanser and 30ml 24 Hour Essence Cream. I felt very privileged to be chosen as one of these bloggers!

As you can see from the above picture, my parcel arrived beautifully packaged. When I opened the parcel, the inner box was nestled in purple satin, whit woo! I don’t think I’ve ever opened anything so fabulous! Opening the box itself was also pretty cool as both sides slide in opposite directions to reveal the products inside.

As Elelweiss are new to the UK, you may not have heard of them. After reading through their company info, I’ve picked out some of the points that are most important to me –

  • Paraben-free
  • Paraffin-free
  • Allergy tested
  • Not tested on animals

So, now onto the products!

I’ve been using both products for a month or so now, and I have to say I’m really impressed. From first opening the packaging I could tell these were going to be top quality spa-at-home type products, and I wasn’t let down at all!

The Milky Cleanser is a clear gel that takes on a ‘milky’ appearance when applied and massaged into the skin. It smells like the perfect high end cleanser, with a light, fresh scent.

The effects of Edition Edelweiss Milky Cleanser:

  • Deep thorough and gentle cleansing
  • Delivers highly-concentrated moisturising nutrients
  • Provides firmness, activation and relief
  • Ph-neutral
  • Soap free
  • Without colorants
  • Removes make-up thoroughly and effectively
  • The siin-aromatherapy activates the skin and indulges the senses

Velvety smooth spring water from the Alps in combination with the exclusive Edelweiss extract provides a gentle and deep cleansing. The active substances of the vitamin-rich Goji-fruit offer the essential vitamins C, A (Retinol) and B. The extract of the Ginseng root strengthens and protects the skin.

The 24 Hour Essence Cream is a fabulous quick absorbing moisturiser, the formula felt light and left my skin feeling soft and supple.

The effects of the Edition Edelweiss 24h Essence Cream:

  • Extensive and long lasting hydration of the skin
  • Neutralisation of damaging free radicals
  • Stimulation of collagen production
  • Reduction of wrinkle depth
  • The siin aromatherapy activates the skin and indulges the senses

The 24h Essence Cream with SPF15 is absorbed quickly and the relaxing and activating effect is perceptible right away. For tired and dull skin – with high moisturising effect for a silky smooth skin. The siin ingredients strengthen the essential skin immune system, stimulate cell turnover and support the collagen production for a firm skin. It helps to prevent the formation of lines and wrinkles and gives a silky smooth appearance.

These really are fantastic spa quality products, I’d definitely use them again! Were you one of the lucky bloggers that had a chance to review this set? I’d love to hear your thoughts! xxx

SteamCream Review

Posted on April 18, 2014

Hi Guys!

Today I have a review of the fabulous SteamCream for you – courtesy of  🙂

steamcream set

So what is Steam Cream? (Before I tried it I didn’t actually know myself)

STEAMCREAM represents the latest concept in skincare. Freshly handmade using high-quality, natural ingredients that are fused together by a shot of steam. This unique method makes the cream very lightweight, providing long-lasting hydration for the face. The texture also makes it a perfect nourishing treat for your body and hands too.

Most creams are made with complex molecules bound together by a powerful emulsifying process; the problem with this is that they just sit on the skin’s surface. They give a good first impression, but don’t keep their promises.

It’s STEAMCREAM’s unique STEAM process that makes our cream much more effective on the skin. The force of the STEAM fuses the ingredients instantly – holding them together in a very gentle and loose emulsion. When it touches your skin, the naturally moisturising ingredients and pure, calming essential oils are released from the light emulsion so they can sink past the surface reaching the areas they are needed fast. Your skin will feel intensively moisturised and softer for longer.

And what does it do?

STEAMCREAM is handmade in the UK and Japan with fresh, traceable ingredients. It’s super-moisturising, sinks deep down instantly and revives your skin straight away. It makes your skin simply the best it can be, naturally.

steam cream

Like I said I didn’t really know anything about SteamCream before this review, all I knew was it was a moisturiser that comes in a range jazzy tins! And on first glance this product appears to be nothing particularly special, basically a moisturiser in a fancy tin… but… when I used it I was very impressed! My skin just loves this stuff!! It’s mildly scented, and has a light to medium density, and it just soaks into my skin leaving my face feeling hydrated all day. You can also use this elsewhere on the body but I haven’t had a chance to yet. I love the fact that Steamcream is made with all natural ingredients too – my skin is sensitive so this is always in the back of my mind when trying out a new product. And for only £20 for two 75ml tins in this Easter Gift Set it’s a complete bargain! I’m really happy with this product, and I’ll definitely be repurchasing when I use these tins up!

Do you use Steam Cream? I’d love to hear if you’ve tried it! xxx
