Christmas: Beauty Stocking Fillers for All Budgets

Posted on December 13, 2017

Hi Guys!

I’m back! I feel like I’ve been out of the loop for a little while as I’ve been pretty ill. Well I’m now on the mend and I’m finally bringing you the first of my Christmas Gift Guides! (At last!) So my first guide is all about beauty stocking fillers – I’ve tried to include a range of products at differing price points so there should be something for everyone. Enjoy!

Starting with the (£49.00) – This is one of the latest releases from one of my favourite makeup brands – the Too Faced White Chocolate Palette is in fact a full-sized version of their previous mini White Chocolate Chip palette. It includes 16 pastel shades with both matte and shimmery finishes, and the palette also smells just like white chocolate!

For those that love a luxurious bubble bath, the  (£15.00) could be just perfect. Philosophy’s award-winning multi-tasking shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath conditions as it cleanses, leaving skin and hair silky soft and lightly perfumed with an ethereal floral fragrance.

Or how about the (£18.00) – I love Ted Baker gifts, they’re always beautifully packaged and just gorgeous inside and out, and The Sweet Treats Polly Fragrance is a complete steal at only £13.00 for 30ml. Polly is described as a grown-up yet girly addition to any night out, with fruity top notes of mandarin, red berries and peach, a floral heart of white jasmine, honeysuckle and peony, and a warm base of amber and vanilla topped off with white musk.

I also have the gorgeous (£20.00) – This handy little set is the perfect size for a beauty-lover’s stocking. It contains a Luxurious Liquid Liner, to deliver a line of smooth, rich colour that lasts all day, as well as a Supernova Glitter Glam Liner, which is infused with the finest iridescent sparkle, making it the perfect glitter liner for Christmas nights out.

For the liquid lipstick fan, the  (£20.00) would just be perfect. This cute little set contains a trio of mini Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks in three must have shades. There’s Beso, a beautiful true red, Caramello, a light nude beige, and Splendore Shimmer, which is a light mauve with a shimmer finish – this one is a special treat as Stila’s Shimmer Liquid Lipsticks won’t be launching individually until the Spring, so definitely keep an eye out for these!

I also have the very affordable (£12.00) – Another fab beauty trio, this time perfect for highlighting the face. This set includes Barry M’s Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops in Liquid Fortune, an Illuminating Strobe Cream Stick in Galactic, and a Fine Glitter Dust in 28.

On to another favourite brand of mine now. The (£8.50) is definitely worth considering. Sleek have got some really great products out at the moment, and this super cute Pout & Polish Set would make a fantastic stocking filler. It contains a Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit, with a matching matte finish Nail Polish.

And the (£15.50) – Rahua isn’t the most well know brand, but they do offer some fantastic haircare products, and I thought this dinky little hair duo would be a welcome find in any beauty lover’s stocking this Christmas. Ideal for those seeking a full, lustrous mane, Rahua’s The Jet Setter Voluminous Duo combines their Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner in a handy travel sized set.

Another bargain now, the (£7.99) is definitely worth picking up. This sweet little set would make the perfect budget friendly stocking filler, containing three of Maybelline’s famous Baby Lips Lip Balms, in Hydrate, Pink Punch, and Cherry Me, this ticks all the boxes for a top beauty gift.

Or how about the (£22.00) – Pixi is another favourite brand of mine, and this gorgeous Lid Lovelies Eyeshadow Palette contains a gorgeous selection of 18 tones, from light creamy nudes to intense orange and smokey charcoal, there’s enough shades here to take you easily from day to night.

Going a bit more high end now, how about the  (£46.00) – Fenty Beauty should need no introduction by now, and I really think any beauty fan would be thrilled to find one of Rhianna’s beauty products in their stocking on Christmas morning. The Match Stix Trio contains three long-wear makeup sticks, with two Match Stix Matte Skinsticks to conceal and contour, and one Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick to highlight.

Ok so I absolutely had to include the (£20.00) – As soon as I saw the new Kat Von D Glimmer Veils I knew I had to try them – and I definitely wasn’t disappointed! These are honestly the most vivid, sparkly and just amazing liquid lipsticks that I’ve ever seen. I’ll be sharing full reviews on the blog soon, but in the meantime just google swatches and you’ll see what I mean!

I thought I’d also include the fab (£32.00) – This fabulously fun palette contains three colourful highlighters, in shades Seashell: a sparkling lavender, Pearl: a sparkling ivory, and Seafoam: a sparkling blue/green. This is a must have for mermaid fans!

Another brand that alway brings out fun and innovative collections is Kiko. The (£19.90) is definitely wort checking out. You’ll probably know by know that I’m a massive fan of Kiko Cosmetics, and their latest limited edition collection is just perfect for Christmas time. I have a few products from the Arctic Holiday collection, but I wanted to include the All In One Palette here, as it’s a fab, reasonably priced full face and eye palette. It contains two face-sculpting powders, a blush, a highlighter, and 9 eyeshadows.

For nail fans, how about the (£14.50) – This lovely little set contains Jessica’s best-selling intensive cuticle moisturiser Phenomen Oil, which is the perfect treat for dry nails during the winter months, as well as a Custom Colour Nail Polish in Nude Thrills, which is a pretty nude beige with a touch of sparkle.

And lastly, I have the  (£18.00 each) – Zoeva always manage to bring out the most gorgeous palettes, and the Opulence collection is no exception. The eyeshadow palette contains ten vibrant shades in a mixture of polished neutrals and vibrant statement colours, in both matte and metallic finishes. The Blush Palette has also been carefully curated to include everything you need for an uplifting, subtly sculpted cheek look, containing two floral-inspired blushers and a shimmering champagne highlighter.

I hope this has given you some inspiration! I’ll have more gift guides coming up very soon 😀 I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty News & Gossip 20/02/2017: Illamasqua, Z Palette, Maybelline & More!

Posted on February 20, 2017

Hi Guys!

It’s been at least a couple of weeks since my last Beauty News update and literally SO much has happened since then. Read on to find out my highlights of the latest beauty news and gossip…

So first up, Illamasqua have taken a stand against Trump and fascism – and I’m not surprised at all. If any brand was going to do it, I think most would have predicted it to be Illamasaqua. Their ‘Anti-Fascism Pledge’ states that they ‘will never knowingly sell products to people who support President Trump’s values’ – and though I know many people will take the side of ‘this is just makeup, Illamasqua should be neutral’, I personally disagree and I love that Illamasqua are standing up publicly for what they believe in. What do you think?

In other news, you’ve probably heard by now about the recent Z Palette drama. If not, to cut a long story short, basically Z Palette have brought out a new electronic device for de-potting product, which people questioned and criticised on Instagram, and rather than replying politely and dealing with their potential customers concerns, whoever was looking after Z Palette’s Instagram went a little bit completely crazy and started spewing out insults like they were going out of fashion, leaving a lot of people very unhappy. It seems obvious that a brand should always deal with any criticism, not matter how harsh, constructively, carefully, and always treat people with respect on social sites. I think they’ve just managed to lose a LOT of customers.

Ok so let’s take a look at some exciting new and upcoming launches now. This MAC Rolerwheel Liquid Eyeliner really caught my eye this week, and I think the idea could actually be amazing if it actually works. The little roller wheel is in the style of a pizza cutter, with the wheel applying a continuous line of eyeliner. I can’t wait to try these when it launches – I think it’s either going to end up being a massive hit or a complete flop.

And following from the L’Oreal X Beauty & The Beast collaboration, it looks like Lorac will be collaborating with the upcoming Pirates of the Carribean movie. The packaging looks pretty awesome and I’m looking forward to finding out about the products, hopefully sooner rather than later.

has also recently launched his latest palette – the Androgyny palette has been in the works for a long time now, and Jeffree has been hinting about it for months. Now it’s been revealed though, I I have to say feel a bit underwhelmed. I’m not sure what I was expecting exactly but I just feel this is a bit ‘meh’. What do you think?

And on that note Jeffree has also hinted on Twitter that a highlighter palette is also in the works – now this does excite me and I can’t wait to see what that looks like!

It also looks like metallic lip finishes are going to be a big thing this year. After what seems like an eternity of matte liquid lipsticks being at the forefront of trends, there’s now a load of brands coming up with intensely pigmented metallic finish lip products. have now launched their Be Legendary Liquid Pigments across the pond, and I think the silver and blue shades look pretty awesome.

And for those on more of a budget, will also be launching a Metallic Lipsticks collection in July. I’m not overly wowed by the look of these swatches, but maybe they’re fab in real life? I’m looking forward to finding out.

And of course MAC had to get in on the game with their own Metallic Lipsticks – and I have to say these look pretty stunning – I hope they look as good on the lips as they do on the bullet.

Anastasia are also bringing out new glow kit with Nicole Guerriero – the shades look really pretty, but I think most of them would be too dark for my super fair skin unfortunately.

has some amazing looking products coming out in March too. There’s a massive Natural Love eyeshadow palette, three high shine Love Light Highlighters, and five new shades of Melted Matte lipsticks. I need to get my hands on those highlighters!

There’s also buzz that Too Faced will be launching some sort of holographic collection. Owner Jerrod shared some metallic pastel swatches recently which look so pretty!

On the same note, I also had to mention the upcoming BackLight Highlighter Palette. We don’t really hear much of BH Cosmetics in the UK (but they are available at Beauty Bay in case you were wondering) These swatches just look so beautiful – very much like the Kat Von D highlighter palette but with a larger range of shades. This is something I’ll definitely be picking up when I can get my hands on it.

Trendmood have also hinted at a collaboration between Pat Mcgrath and Kim Kardashian – I wonder what they could be up to?

And lastly, I was thrilled to hear that some of my favourite beauty bloggers have teamed up with L’Oreal Paris to launch a range brand new Matte Addition lipsticks. What’s especially awesome about this is that most of these aren’t your typical ‘big bloggers’ that are pretty much household names these days. These girls are ‘micro bloggers’ and just as amazing in their own right as some of the biggest names in the industry. It’s makes me so happy that smaller bloggers are now being recognised – well done girls!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty at Tesco Mini Haul!

Posted on November 17, 2014

beauty-at-tesco-haul

Hi Guys!

You may have heard on the grapevine that Tesco have opened a range of Beauty World stores this year, to share this exciting news they kindly sent me a £25 voucher to spend on some of the fabulous products they offer! Yay! Unfortunately there isn’t a Beauty Word store near me (yet!) so I used my voucher online and ended up with a mini haul including some awesome products!

(Before I get onto the products, I must apologise for my grainy photos – there’s just no light at the moment and I keep getting reflections when I use my blogging lights, so I need to figure out the best way round this really! If you have any tips please let me know!)

Now on to the goods! I took a look round the Tesco Direct site and found some fab products…

beauty-at-tesco-maybelline-color-tattoo

First up is the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in 65 Pink Gold. I have a few Color Tattoo’s already but never seemed to manage to get my hands on Pink Gold, which is a beautiful metallic rose gold shade. I was so happy to see Tesco Direct sell them and snapped this up straight away!

Next is one of my all time favourite products – Bourjois Contour Clubbing Eyeliner in Bleu Neon. My current pencil has been used down to the stub, but I’ve been clinging onto it for dear life hoping to get as much use out of it as possible. Tesco Direct have a large range of makeup on offer but only this shade of Contour Clubbing eyeliner, so again I added this to my bag as quick as I could!

beauty-at-tesco-bubble-bath-and-bastiste

I have a big thing for bath products, especially luxurious bubble baths! So I went for the Along Came Betty So Much Bubble Bath Soak. A massive 500ml bottle was only £2.66 and it smells lovely so I can’t wait to get in the tub with this and splash around with Fred! On the subject of baths, on the rare occasion when I do get a bath to myself I love nothing more than a long soak with a scented candle or three in the room. I’ve been on the hunt for Christmass candles lately so I also added a Yankee Candle in Christmas Treats to my basket. This has a super sweet scent which will make my bathroom and home smell gorgeous!

And lastly is the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Floral & Fruity Blush. Batiste is probably the most famous brand of dry shampoo on the market yet I’d never tried their products before! I was in need of a new can of dry shampoo so I added this to my bag and I’m really glad I did, it gives hair a lovely fresh and fruity scent, and refreshes it so you can go an extra day without washing!

My purchases ended up coming to only a few pence under £25, so rather than remove something from my bag, I opted for ‘collect from store’ which is free, so I didnt have to pay delivery charges – result!

I’m super happy with my mini haul, I can’t wait to get in the tub tonight and try out the bubble bath and candle! I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Summer Brights! The Best of Coral and Orange Lip Products!

Posted on August 11, 2014

summer-bright-lipsticks

Hi Guys!

I thought i’d put together a little post to show you all my favourite bright lippies, I’ve got quite a few  and it was hard to cut them down, but I’ve managed to get together four orange shades and four corals for this post, I’ll then put together another post shortly with the pinks and reds!

best-orange-lipsticks-2

So first up I’ve put the Oranges together… |I used to be scared of orange lipstick, any orange makeup for that matter, but as soon as I saw MAC’s Morange I knew I needed to try it, and now I’ve got a bit of a collection going on!

1. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in 040 Rendesvous. If you want to try an orange lip but you’re a bit unsure as I was, this is a great ‘starter’ orange, it’ll just give your lips a hint of colour. It’s moisturising too!

2. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 912 Electric Orange. As soon as I saw this I was like WOW! This is such a true bright tangerine colour, and I love Maybelline lipsticks as a cheaper alternative to MAC. I highly recommend this if you want a high street priced tangerine orange.

3. Sleek Pout Paint in 155 Lava. Again another super bright colour, this is definitely the most intense of the lot! The pigmentation in this product is amazing, it’s like OCC Lip Tars but without the price tag! Sleek also offer a great range of colours in their Pout Paint’s so there should be something to suit everyone if you’re not a fan of orange!

4. MAC Morange. Morange has to be my favourite orange at the moment. It’s just so intense!  The formula is spot on too, it’s creamy and forgiving on the lips, giving you fab even coverage. It also has the most amazing colour payoff that lasts for hours on end. If you’re an orange lip fan you need this in your life!

best-coral-lipsticks-2

And now the lovely Corals!

S&G Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Fuchsia-Ristic. Now I’m gonna be honest, I didnt actually know I had this until I was rummaging throughout my makeup drawers and spotted it! I think I must have bought it from a blog sale a while ago and completely forgot! Oops! Anyway, this is a pretty pinkish coral gloss which is great for a hint of colour!

Lord & Berry Shining Lipstick in Fire. I’ve recently rediscovered this from the back of my stash. Fire is  an intense reddish coral with a semi-matte finish. This is a fab statement colour if you wanted something slightly different from a true red.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 910 Shocking Coral. This is such a pretty, easy to wear colour. Maybelline’s Color Sensation Lipsticks are really underrated, they have a fab formula and are really affordable.

Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Coral Ahh my new favourite lipstick of all time, this really is the most perfect coral shade, click on the link to take a look at it on me and you’ll see what I mean! This is the most perfect true coral colour, and the formula is EVERYTHING. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the Melted Lipsticks!

I’d love to hear which coral or orange lip shades you’re loving this summer? xxx

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipsticks – Perfect Summer Brights! | Review

Posted on July 11, 2014

maybelline-vivids-review

Hi Guys!

I’ve decided that Maybelline is officially my second favourite lipstick brand after MAC. Specifically their Color Sensational Vivids range. I nabbed the Neon Red lipstick from this range a while ago. If you click on the link there to take a look, you may notice the lipstick looks completely different the the one in this posts (it’s the darkest red in this post) this is just because I used to take all my photos with a filter, and then realised this isn’t the best idea for colours looking true to life! Doh!

Anyway, these lipsticks really are fantastic for high street prices. At £7.19 they’re less than half the price of MAC lippies, which have gone up to a purse-clenching £15.50 a pop now, and they also offer a creamy finish and great colour payoff.

There are five shades available at Boots in the Color Sensational Vivids range, and I have three of them to show you! 🙂

maybelline-912-electric-orange-review

First up is Electric Orange. I was always scared of orange, for any type of makeup not just lipsticks, but I’m actually loving it this summer!

maybelline-910-shocking-coral-review

Next is Shocking Coral – now I know on the bullet this looks really similar to Electric Orange, but it really isn’t in real life!

maybellein-916-neon-red-review

And Neon Red. Again on this bullet this looks to be more of a deep red, but looks can be deceiving!

maybelline-vivids-lipsticks

Just check out the swatches! The close up pictures don’t really do the lipsticks much justice do they! The hand swatches however are much more representative of their true colours. These are true bright, vivid lipsticks, perfect for the summer! (Or any time if you’re like me) 🙂 And here’s what they look like on…

maybelline-electric-orange-review-1

Now the Electric Orange, I have to say, was not quite as intense as I’d hoped. On the hand swatch it looks like a true tangerine orange, but on the lips the colour was just slightly lacking for me. It’s still a great formula though so I’d definitely recommend it if you’re a bit nervous about trying an orange as it won’t break the bank. If you want full on orange though you should try MAC’s Morange.

maybelline-shocking-coral-review-1

Shocking Coral, again wasn’t quite as shocking as I’d hoped for. It was a gorgeous bright pink, no doubt about that, but I think due to the slight sheerness of the formula, the colour wasn’t quite as intense as I’d expected. Now don’t get me wrong, I do love Shocking Coral and Electric Orange, they are both gorgeous bright summery colours, they feel lightweight and you don’t have to worry about creasing or bleeding with these lipsticks at all, just chuck them on and go! They just weren’t what I was expecting!

maybelline-neon-red-review-1

And lastly the Neon Red. This colour is the whole reason I purchased the other two! This is such a fabulous bright striking red, but with the creamy, easy to wear formula all these lipsticks have! This is still my favourite without a doubt 🙂

So what do you think? Have you tried any of the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids range?

Maybelline Lavender Voltage Limited Edition Lipstick

Posted on April 11, 2014

Hi Guys!

So here’s the next instalment in my purple lipstick obsession! (You can check out my MAC Heroine review here) I saw this little beauty on ebay when I was looking for purple lipsticks, it’s a limited edition and I had to buy it from the US, I’m pretty sure it’s not available here in the UK as I haven’t seen it anywhere – but please let me know if I’m wrong!

maybelline lavender voltage

bright purple lipstick

Maybelline’s Lavender Voltage is the most stunning bright purple lipstick I’ve ever seen! It’s my perfect purple! It’s part of the Color Sensational range, like my Neon Red Lipstick – meaning it should have a really good colour payoff.

1000 lavender voltage

lavender voltage swatch

Well I have to say this lipstick did not disappoint, it’s the perfect combination of fantastic pigmentation, in a moisturising, creamy lipstick. It’s slightly bluer toned than Heronie, and obviously not a matte finish, so if you suffer with dry lips I’d definitely recommend this as a fab alternative if you’re put off by a matte finish. I’m completely in love with this colour! It’s not the longest lasting lipstick I’ve ever tried, but I’m so happy with the colour and creamy finish, this really doesn’t matter to me 🙂

Have you tried Lavender Voltage? I’d love to hear if you have!

I hope you enjoy my review 🙂 xxx
