Beauty: NEW MAC Limited Edition Fruity Juicy Collection

Posted on May 25, 2017

Hi Guys!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve had anything from MAC on the blog, but I’m back today with some gorgeous products from the new Limited Edition Fruity Juicy Collection.

Think hot summer nights, tanned, glowing skin, and bright warm tones contrasted with sizzling nudes. The Fruity Juicy collection is described as a frootilicious collection of sun-kissed succulence…

Take a sweet vacation of tropical colour for lips and eyes, including the online-exclusive Eye Shadow x 6: Oh My Banana. Featuring special packaging throughout! Love at first bite. Sail away on sweet scent-sation of frootilicious tropical colour. Go bananas in vibrant lipsticks, or zest up your life with Cremesheen Glass and three new Eye Shadow x 6 palettes. Sundream the days away with Bronzing Powders or Pearlmatte Face Powder. Then chase those last rays with Lustre Drops, while the evocative coconut scent of Prep + Prime Fix+ sets the mood for whatever the evening heat may bring.

This collection includes a selection of bronzing and highlighting products perfect for beautiful, glowing skin, including Bronzing Powders, a pretty PearlMatte Face Powder, and Lustre Drops for highlighting, as well as accessories. Unfortunately I don’t have any of these, but I do have a few of the gorgeous colour cosmetics to share with you today –

There are four Lipsticks (£16.50) in the Fruity Juicy collection, including two nude shades and two brights. I have Calm Heat, which is a light nude beige with a matte finish, and Love at First Bite, which is a bright coral toned pink with an amplified finish. I’m in love with Love at First Bite, it’s such a pretty summery shade.

  • Calm Heat – a mid-tone nude (matte)
  • Shy Girl – a creamy neutral coral beige (cremesheen)
  • Love at First Bite – a bright fuchsia (amplified)
  • Si, Si, Me! – a deep violet (satin)

There are also four Cremesheen Glass lip glosses in the collection (£18.00). I have Cha-Cha-Cha which is a mid toned peach. It has a sheer, creamy finish that feels moisturising and nourishing on the lips.

  • Cha-Cha-Cha – a warm peachy pink
  • Shake, Shake, Shake! – a bright apricot orange
  • La Salsa – a soft purple
  • Summer Succulence – a cool beige

Next onto my favourite product, the Eyeshadow Palette – the Fruity Juicy Eyeshadow X6 palettes come in three fun and bright options. Interestingly, the palette is really quite heavy and made of metal, which I haven’t seen before from MAC (but please correct me if I’m wrong). I really like the thin, sleek case, and it also comes with a mirror inside the lid which is a bonus.

I have the Eyeshadow X6 Palette (£24.50) in Fruit a La La, which is just beautiful. I didn’t choose this myself as I was sent it to review, but I’m so glad I received this one. The shades are all warm in tone and intense in pigment, in mostly matte and satin finishes. There’s also a lovely high shimmer copper-orange frost shade included which looks great on the centre of the eyelid.

  • Cocktai Black – a deep brown grey with pearl (satin)
  • Fuchsia Fury – a bright blue pink (satin)
  • Carnal Charm – a bright burnt orange red (matte)
  • Arriba! – a frosty rose (frost)
  • Soleil, So Lovely – a dirty grey nude (matte)
  • Glamour Light – a warm beige (satin)

I’m extremely impressed with these products, the Fruity Juicy Collection is just spot on in terms of my aesthetic and the colour selection is perfectly on trend right now. A couple of items have sold out already, but theres still quite a few products in stock – so be sure to snap then up fast if you’d like to get your hands on some of the collection before is all sells out!

Beauty: Illamasqua May Queen Collection

Posted on May 17, 2017

Hi Guys!

Illamasqua’s brand new collection May Queen has just launched, and it includes an edited selection of colour products for eyes, lips and face, in pretty muted hues, as well as a couple of popping bright shades which are perfect for Spring. I have the lowdown on some of the products for you today…

Hark back to beauty’s folklore, with Illamasqua’s new Spring collection. Beckoning the start of a new season, the May Queen captures the spirit of transformation. Leading the May Day procession away from Winter’s grasp into the rebirth of Spring, her floral crown is the embodiment of hope and prosperity. Use this annual renaissance to excite the imagination. Reincarnate your look. Become your own May Queen.

For the eyes, Illamasqua have included a new Pure Pigment to this collection in shade Muse (£17.50) – this is a beautiful light peach shade with an intense metallic shimmer finish. Due to both the shade and the high shine finish, this product can easily be used as a highlighter on fair to medium skin tones too. I’m looking forward to trying this on my cheekbones!

There are also three new Powder Eyeshadows (£17.00) in this collection. They all have a shimmer finish which looks pretty similar to the finish of the Pure Pigment; it’s a high-shine metallic that catches the sun beautifully. I have shade Invoke, which is described as a ‘zinc bronze shimmer’ and I’m completely in love with it. It’s a taupe bronze that’s easy to wear and will look gorgeous on tanned skin in the summer. The shades available are –

  • Ritual – a pink shimmer.
  • Invoke – a taupe bronze shimmer.
  • Maiden – a soft gold shimmer.

And lastly, I have two new Antimatter Lipsticks (£20.00) – this is my first experience with Illamasqua’s Antimatter lipsticks, and I’m definitely not disappointed. They offer long lasting intense colour, with a comfortable finish that’s a cross between a satin and a matte. The two new shades are Binary, a warm coral, and Charge, a hot pink. Charge feels slightly more satin to me, with Binary having more of a matte finish. Both are creamy and comfortable on the lips, and last for a good few hours before you need to re-apply.

There’s also a new Beyond Powder highlighter in this collection too, in shade Deity (£34.00). Unfortunately I don’t have this but you can Google it if you want to check out swatches. Deity looks like a stunning golden green, and if you like more unusual highlighters I definitely recommend you check it out.

The May Queen collection is available now at .

Beauty: Primark PS… InstaGirl Makeup & Revive Skincare Collections

Posted on May 12, 2017

Hi Guys!

It’s been at least a few years since I last tried any makeup from Primark, so when I heard about the new InstaGirl makeup range and Revive Skinare collection, I was intrigued to see how their products have come on over the last few years…

The InstaGirl Collection is described as a selfie-ready cosmetics range, comprising of 17 pieces to offer quick fixes for all of your prep and prime needs. The base products have been specifically designed with feature enhancing blue pigments that reflect light and brighten the skin tone, and they also promise to be to be ‘flash proof’ – nobody wants flashback when you’re trying to take a selfie 😀

The products themselves are very ‘now’ both in terms of the packaging and the colour palette Primark have used. The packaging is clean and minimalist – perfect for including in your Insta photos, and the shades are all muted nudes. Subtle yet pretty, this collection is clearly marketed at the selfie generation. – I just hope the products perform as well as they look.

For the complexion, I have the Face Protecting Prime & Anti Shine Balm, which is a compact containing a solid balm and a flat sponge applicator. As I’m sure you can guess, the balm is supposed to prime and prevent shine – well personally I can tell you it did an ok job for me, but I probably wouldn’t recommend it if you have particularly oily skin.

The Perfecting Stick, is a slightly different primer designed to minimise the appearance of pores. I actually quite liked this one, it did the job as a primer and definitely helped give my foundation a more flawless finish.

And the Flash Photo Powder, which is a translucent powder with light reflecting blue pigments for photo ready skin. This isn’t the worst product in the world, but it did look pretty white on my (already pale) skin – maybe this could work if you’re super pale and looking for a finishing powder though.

For lips, the Intense Liquid Lipstick I have is a gorgeous muted nude greige-pink, and matching Kissproof Lipliner Pencil in Nude Selfie. I really love the colour, and the formula is pretty decent considering the price. This isn’t the sort of liquid lipstick that dries down, but I don’t really see that as a problem. It gave great coverage with only one swipe, and lasted a good few hours before I needed to re-apply.

And I also have the Lip Plump Gloss – which is a bit of an oxymoron as it supposedly has a matte finish! This is a tingly, and cooling clear gloss with a light minty scent, that has an invisible finish. It gives a light plumping feeling, which is very similar to Too Faced’s Lip Injection Glosses but not quite as intense.

There’s also an InstaGirl Fragrance – of course. This is a sweet girly scent, that would definitely appeal to younger generations, and it’s the perfect size for your handbag.

And lastly I have the One Coat Nail Lacquer in shade Nude Selfie which matches the lip products nicely. This is actually a fantastic polish, only taking one coat for full opaqueness. It didn’t last particularly long before chipping but I can definitely overlook that for the sake of the price.

Prices for the InstaGirl Collection range from £1.50 for the Lip Liners up to £6.00 for the Face Palette.

And the Revive collection is Primark’s first beauty range specifically created to soothe the body, relax the mind and lift the soul. The six-piece collection contains body scrubs, energizing sprays and natural oils to help relieve the stresses of modern day life.

I have the ginger and lemon Energising Spray, which is perfect to use first thing in the morning – revitalising the senses in just one pump. And the Anti Stress Spray which contains Lavender, Geranium and Ylang Ylang which can be used to ease feelings of stress and tension.

The Rose & Peony Perfume Oil has been designed to use on the pulse points, offering a fresh yet gentle floral scent that can be worn on a daily basis. And lastly the Massage Oil, which is definitely my favourite product out of the Revive collection. It contains Olive, Sweet Almond, Safflower, Soybean and Rose Flower oils to revitalise, calm the mind and nourish the body from head to toe.

Prices range from £1.50 to £3.00 for the Revive collection.

Overall I’m really impressed. I must admit I didn’t have the highest of hopes for these products just because of the price point, but in fact both collections really are pretty decent, and considering the prices, I think they’re definitely worth a look.

Have you tried any of these products? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipsticks #IWasHere

Posted on May 11, 2017

Hi Guys!

I have a new lipstick collection to share with you today – the new Rouge Interdit Satin Lipsticks from Givenchy includes a selection of vibrant satin shades that promise to be the perfect lipstick for every occasion…

The Rouge Interdit Satin formula offers high-impact colour with an easy to wear satin finish, that promises to feel comfortable on the lips whilst lasting for hours on end. The lipsticks contain ultra fine micro-oils to give the product a super smooth and creamy lightweight texture. Givenchy is also the sole beauty brand to utilise precious Black Rose Oil, which they have included to help keep lips soft, supple and moisturised.

The Rouge Interdit Satin Lipsticks are available in 24 vivid shades, which are enhanced by the AbsoluteColour Complex. This contains micronized pigments which are ground into an oil selected for its dispersion qualities, allowing them to be distributed over the lips perfectly evenly, giving an opaque, non-streaky finish. Givenchy have also utilised liquid biron in the ingredients, which is made of highly reflective, perfectly even crystals that accentuate the depth and luminosity of each shade.

So you can see a lot of thought and technology has been put into these lipsticks! But I also want to mention the packaging – which is pretty unusual yet sleek and sophisticated, with a faux ribbon design down the side of the outer casing displaying the Givenchy logo, and an actual ribbon pull tag at the base of the lipsticks, so you can easily pull them out of their cases. I really like the luxe touch of the ribbon details as it makes the lipsticks feel very high end and unique.

I have five shades out of the 24 available (Left to right)

  • 11 Orange Underground – a muted teracotta orange.
  • 8 Framboise Obscur – a muted purple toned mauve.
  • 15 Orange Adrenaline – a bright clean orange.
  • 13 Rouge Interdit – a pink toned red.
  • 14 Redlight – a blue toned red.

You can see the shades I have are all intensely pigmented and vibrant, and I was really impressed with how comfortable they were to wear. My favourite in terms of colour was 14 Redlight, it’s such a beautiful true red shade that will literally suit anyone and everyone.

Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipsticks are £25.00 each and available now at

Beauty: My Picks from Lime Crime at ASOS

Posted on May 3, 2017

Hi Guys!

ASOS might not be the first place you think of when online shopping for beauty products – but it really should be. They stock so many amazing brands now, many of which are pretty hard to find in the UK, such as Beauty Bakerie, Winky Lux, NYX, and Paul & Joe to name a few of my favourites.

Today though, I wanted to share with you my picks from ASOS’s selection of Lime Crime products…

Lime Crime have recently launched an awesome range of fake nails. I’m not usually a fan of fake nails, simply because I’d never come across any styles that particularly excited me. The Chromatic Pop On Nails (£12.00 at ) however, come in a variety of iridescent high shine finishes that just look so shiny and magical! I have a set in shade Oyster, which is an iridescent white which shines blue and pink in the light, very much like an oyster shell – they’re so pretty! The nails are also available in shades Camel which has more of a gold tone, and Lizard which has more of a greenish oil-slick coloured finish.

The Chromatic Pop On Nails sets contains 6 different sizes of nails, so you can select which suits each of your nails the best, with two of each size. There’s also a tube of nail glue included to stick them on with. I’m loving this set so much – if you’re a fan of iridescent or holographic beauty products, these are a must have!

Another of Lime Crime’s newer launches is their Metallic Velvetines Liquid Lipsticks (£15.00 at ). There are six shades to choose from, and I have (starting from the top)

  • Posh – a metallic warm toned purple
  • Mercury – a metallic nude silver with a touch of lavender
  • Happi – a metallic light peach pink
  • Lana – a metallic orange bronze

The Metallic Velvetines are a matte liquid lipstick, with a gorgeous metallic high shimmer finish. They’re extremely well pigmented, just like the original Velvetines, and work really well on their own, or on top of other liquid lipsticks. They dry down to a true matte finish, and won’t budge or move around at all throughout the day.

And of course, ASOS also stock Lime Crime’s original Velvetine Liquid Lipsticks too (£15.00 at ). There are 18 shades of original formula Velvetines available, including classics such as Pink Velvet and Cashmere, as well as newer shades too. I have a couple of gorgeous colours (the bottom two swatches above) –

  • Riot – a terracotta nude
  • Buffy – a warm toned caramel nude

I think Riot is my favourite, it’s a warm terracotta shade that’s surprisingly easy to wear. As expected, they dry down quickly to a super matte finish which lasts for hours and hours before you need to re-apply. As with any liquid matte lipstick, you’ll need to make sure your lips are in good condition before application, as it can be quite drying. They only require one coat though, and dry perfectly opaque – these are definitely some of the best matte finish liquid lipsticks you can buy.

I’m so excited by these latest products from Lime Crime, I can’t wait to try out some new makeup looks with them!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Beauty: Paul & Joe Limited Edition 15th Anniversary Makeup Collection

Posted on April 28, 2017

Hi Guys!

If you know Paul & Joe beauty, you’ll know they’re all about the cute and kitsch – and of course cats. Their new limited edition 15th anniversary collection has just arrived at TSNC HQ and it’s simply BEAUTIFUL.

The 15th Anniversary Makeup Collection brings together some of Paul and Joe’s best selling beauty products in one handy collectible set – of course featuring their iconic feline design throughout, contrasted on a pretty floral background. The set includes a selection of colours for the eyes in pretty spring shades, as well as a couple of other lovely treats…

The large outer box opens to reveal a pretty pink and gold two tier vanity case, with a flip lid on the top and a drawer below. Paul & Joe haven’t skimped on the details here. The box itself is of high quality and even features a gold cat head as a drawer pull. This could easily be used as a trinket or jewellery box if you so wished.

The top of the case lifts up to reveal a six individual 3D cat shaped eye colours. They all have a pearl finish and come in a range of pretty pastel shades. There’s a mint green, metallic copper brown, shimmery pink, a yellow gold, deep purple and a light pastel pink. They’re so cute and so perfect, I can’t bear to touch them!

In the below drawer, you’ll find a Lipstick in Petit Princess – this is a soft peachy coral shade that was originally seen in the Spring 2012 collection, and of course the bullet has been moulded into a super cute cat head shape with a hat – I would expect nothing less. There’s also a mini Face & Eye Colour Case tin, which opens to reveal an eyeshadow brush and three spaces to house your top three kitty cat pearls from the eye colours, making them both portable an easy to use.

And as if all of this wasn’t enough, the outer box also contains a cat head shaped makeup bag pouch, with a floral cream and pink pattern to match the design on the vanity case.

In my opinion this is a collection to be loved and cherished, and definitely not used (even though everything included is of course fully functional). This collection has been designed to the finest detail to make it as special, and precious as possible. As a child that always collected ‘special things’, like little trinkets and shiny stones, and kept them safe in a little tin – so this collection just really appeals to me. This is a truly stunning set that makeup collectors will absolutely love. I just want to sit and look at the cats forever!

The Paul & Joe Anniversary makeup Collection is £55.00 and available at  now.

Beauty: New Spring 2017 Lip Launches

Posted on March 29, 2017

Hi Guys!

There have been SO many new lip launches over the last few months, I really didn’t know where to start with them! So I decided in the end I’d just group everything together and talk you through them all. Some are pretty decent, some are really good, and a couple really are excellent. Let’s get stuck in!

Starting with the new Lord & Berry Timeless Kissproof Lipstick (£15.00 at ) – now I must admit, Lord & Berry isn’t a brand that I’d usually gravitate towards, for no other reason than I’m just not overly familiar with their products. But I have to say their new Timeless Kiss Proof Lipsticks really are fantastic!

They have a lovely, creamy formula that contains a nourishing blend of Neem, Sesame and Indian Frankincense Essential Oils, making them super comfortable on the lips, whilst being incredibly pigmented with a transfer-resistant matte finish. I really was impressed with these and they’re definitely worth checking out. I have shades –

  • Brave Red – a true red
  • Pop Pink – an intense magenta
  • First Lady – a mid brown with gold sparkle

(I should just mention that I took my photos before the products had a chance to dry, so just letting you know they do dry down matte)

Next we have the Chantecaille Matte Chic Lipsticks (£33.00 at ) – you probably won’t be surprised to hear these are the most expensive products in this round up. The Matte Chic lipsticks have a light, whipped texture that’s very similar to the new Burberry Liquid Lip Velvets. I love that they feel barely-there on the lips, whilst being moisturising and also long wearing. They’d make a great treat if you’re a fan of Chantecaille products. I have shades –

  • Jerry – a nude pink
  • Carmen – a true deep red

And at the opposite end of the spectrum, the Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in Wild Strawberry (£17.50 at ) is perfect if you’re looking for a nourishing lip product with just a hint of colour. The formula contains mango and shea butters to keep lips feeling comfortably soft and smooth, and the Crayola theme is really fun and playful.

Back to liquid lipsticks now, the LA Splash Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks (£9.95 at ) have been a long time favourite of mine. I picked some up direct from LA Splash in the US a while ago now, and I was beyond impressed with how well they lasted on my lips.

Their Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick collection is inspired by desserts, and comes in a range of muted, neutral shades. The formula is full coverage, and completely transfer proof, and it’s also worth mentioning that you don’t want to apply this too thickly, as I’ve found it wears off the lips quicker if it’s applied too generously. I have shades –

  • Dark Mocha Mousse – a light warm brown.
  • Buttermilk Cheesecake – a natural nude with pink undertones.
  • Macaroon –  a deep rosy pink.

The Ciate London Pretty Stix Lipstick (£16.00 at ) is another new product that’s now a favourite of mine. This is more along the lines of a sheer lipstick, offering a moisturising formula which combines Brazilian Murumuru butter and Amino Acid to give the soothing and conditioning properties of a balm, combined with the pigmentation of a lipstick. I love that the Pretty Stix make my lips feel so smooth and moisturised. I’ve been wearing Vintage Blush quite a lot this week!

  • Vintage Blush – a light coral nude
  • Romcom – a bright magenta
  • Heartbreaker – a deep purple

Next we have the brand new Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks (£19.00 at ) – it’s been quite a while since I’ve used Smashbox products so I wasn’t too sure what to expect with these, but the Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks are some of the most highly pigmented lip products I’ve ever tried – I was so impressed!

They promise to stay put for up to 8 hours, and contain Advanced Polymer Technology and Primer Oil Complex to give a super smooth, intensely pigmented, budge-proof finish. I have shades –

  • Let’s Dance – a bright purple toned magenta
  • Shockaholic – a super bright magenta pink
  • Big Spender – an intense rose pink

For those looking for a budget product, I always recommend checking out Sleek Cosmetics. The Sleek Cosmetics Matte Lip Cream (£4.99 at ) is a great product for less than a fiver, and they’ve now brought out a selection of fun and bright pastel shades for spring. The formula isn’t the most pigmented in the world, but it’s decent enough to give good coverage with a couple of swipes, and it lasts for a good few hours before you need to think about touching up. Overall this is a great budget product. I have shades –

  • French Fancy – a pretty mid cool toned pink
  • Crushed Lavender – a light lavender purple
  • Apricot Blooms – a light coral-apricot

If you’re not a fan of liquid lipsticks, the new Makeup Forever Artist Acrylip Glosses (£17.50 at ) could be right up your street. Inspired by bold, high-pigment artist acrylic paints, the MUFE Artist Acrylips give lips the most intense, glossy color with just one swipe. I really love the smoothness of the formula, as well as the amazing pigmentation. I should reiterate that these are glosses and do not dry down or set in any way shape or form – but they also don’t move around the mouth at all which is great news. I have shades –

  • 202 Coral Pink – an intense petal pink
  • 400 Iconic Red – an intense true red
  • 600 Dark Purple – a deep aubergine purple

And the Pixi Beauty GelTint & SilkGloss (£14.00 at ) – Pixi is one of my favourite beauty brands, and I love that their products are always so interesting and innovative. This double ended tint and gloss is just a fantastic idea that I’ve never seem before. One end contains a gel formula lip stain, and the other holds a glossy top coat.

And lastly, MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick (£17.50 at ) – this collection includes some really beautiful shades, and I was drawn to ‘So Me’ which has a real 90’s vibe about it. I’m not actually a fan of MAC’s original Retro Matte Lipsticks as I find them to be incredibly drying, so I was interested to see how the liquid version fared. Well I have to say I was impressed! As expected the formula was richly pigmented, but it was also pleasant to wear and lasted all day. I definitely want to pick up some more shades now!

I’d love to hear which lip products you’ve been loving lately?

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
