Hi Guys!

Happy Friday 🙂 I have some gorgeous products from Clinique’s latest Pop Artisty collection to share with you today – Pop Artistry is all about pops of colour for eyes, lips and cheeks, including new Pop Lacquers, Glazes, Oils and Eye Shadows. The newest lip additions to the Clinique Pop collection range from pretty pops of sheer colour to full coverage and high shine, creating endless ways to make lips pop!

Left to right –

  • Pop Lacquer Lip Colour + Primer in 09 Nude Pop
  • Pop Lip Colour + Primer Rouge Intense in 02 Bare Pop
  • Pop Lip Colour + Primer Rouge Intense in 01 Nude Pop
  • Pop Lip Colour + Primer Rouge Intense in 04 Beige Pop
  • Pop Glaze Sheer Lip Colour + Primer in 07 Sugar Plum Pop

You can see there are three different types of lip product here – a gloss, a lipstick, and a sheer lipstick. Starting with the gloss – the (£16.00) – this is a wonderfully thick lacquer with high intensity colour. I love that it moisturises lips leaving them feeling silky smooth, without any stickiness whatsoever. This product comes in 10 shades from creamy nudes to bold red, sweetheart pink and deep purple.

The (£16.00) includes a massive selection of 24 shades, again ranging from nudes to more intense pinks and reds. The Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipsticks have a beautiful lightweight formula that applies easily with one sweep, leaving bold colour with a velvet finish. Clinique promise this product will keep lips comfortably moisturised for up to 8 hours – I haven’t worn them for that long myself but they definitely make my lips feel supple and moisturised, which is always a winner if you’re prone to dry lips like I am.

And the Pop Glaze Sheer Lip Colour + Primer (£16.00) – this is basically a sheerer version of the above Pop Lip Colours. Perfect for those looking for a touch of colour that isn’t too intense, the formula contains Shea and Murumuru butters to provide superior moisture, and a combination of emollient oils to provide shine, slip and cushion. Inspired by candy, this lineup includes six pretty shades that give a beautiful shine and sheer colour payoff.

And lastly, the simply stunning  (£15.00) – the Lid Pop collection includes a range of eight nude to bold coloured eye shadows with a silky, long-wearing formula, designed to deliver an instant pop of colour. I’m completely in love with 08 Petal Pop, apart from the beautiful almost iridescent peachy sheen this gives, the formula is wonderfully buttery as well as luxuriously lightweight and silky smooth to the touch. This eyeshadow applies like a dream, and this particular shade would also be perfect as a highlighter too.

Overall I’m beyond impressed with these products, I may have to snap up a couple more of the eyeshadows I think!

Cohorted April 2016 Beauty Box Review

Posted on April 12, 2016

cohorted-box-april-2016-review

Hi Guys!

Cohorted’s latest box has just arrived on my doorstep and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in! I was excited to see a few new brands included this month –

  • MAC Patent Polish Lip Pencil in Look Lively, worth £17.50
  • Gold Elements Nail Care Kit, worth £29.49
  • Miss Patisserie Bath Melt, worth £3.99
  • The Body Shop White Musk Libertine EDT, worth £24.00
  • MDM Flow Lipstick in Panther, worth £18.00

Total value of box: £92.98.

Ok so on first glance, we have MAC in here, we have The Body Shop and a MDM Flow Lipstick – ooh! I can’t tell you how good it is to see some new brands this month!  So let’s start with MDM Flow… I remember first hearing about this brand a while ago from British Beauty Blogger (I think) and the brand was also mentioned in last months Cohorted leaflet.

MDM Flow is the brainchild of Florence Adepoju, a Scientist with a BSc (Hons) in Cosmetic Science, fusing her love of beauty with hip hop and street style. The high shine gold casing is striking and unusual, and MDM flow’s lipsticks come in an interesting range of bold and unusual shades. Panther is included in this box, it’s a vivid Barbie pink and I think I love it! Be warned this shade is super intense though, it’s definitely not for the faint hearted!

On the subject of lips, the MAC Patent Polish Lip Pencil is a lovely addition too – I must admit I doubt I’d pick this up if I were shopping at MAC myself, just because £17.50 is quite expensive for a glossy balm in my opinion. I’m very glad to find it in the box though. Shade Look Lively gives a sheer, baby pink balmy tint to the lips.

There’s also a Gold Elements Nail Care Kit – another brand I hadn’t heard of. A quick Google tells me that Gold Elements is a premium skincare brand, offering face and body ranges, as well as products for nails and gift sets. The Gold Elements Nail Care Kit includes a large 120ml tube of hand cream, cuticle oil, a block style nail buffer and a nail file. Again probably not products I’d choose myself, but all are very handy and will definitely get used.

Next is The Body Shop White Musk Libertine EDT, this is actually my first ever fragrance from the Body Shop – it’s a light and sweet musk, with notes of rose, honey and almond. This is a really nice, every day scent that is perfect for fans of musk fragrances.

And lastly the super sweet Miss Patisserie Bath Melt, complete in a pretty presentation box. This really looks good enough to eat! I’m looking forward to popping this into my next bath!

After last month’s slightly disappointing box, I think Cohorted have done a really good job here. Though all the products included aren’t completely up my street, this is just my personal preference, and I think most will be happy with this box. It’s great to see a mix of different brands this month too – The Body Shop is a safe bet as you can’t really go too wrong with their products, and I love that Cohorted have teamed up with MDM Flow, bringing a brand new and emerging brand to its customer base.

I’d love to hear what you think of this box? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Hi Guys!

I just came across these brand new Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks and I thought they looked fantastic! They’re currently only available on  – BUT, though they look pretty awesome, and the packaging looks lovely too, click on the link and take a look at the Sephora reviews at the bottom of the page… there’s lot’s of 1 stars in there which doesn’t look good…

‘Give lips the staying power of a stain and the intense color of a liquid lipstick in one long-wear ultra-matte formula. It’s formulated with exclusive technology that leaves the lipstick melted for the most high-impact color possible. It’s infused with antioxidant-rich avocado oil and vitamin E to moisturize, while hyaluronic filling spheres smooth the look of lip lines. It comfortably coats lips with a wash of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours.’

  • Child Star – Matte soft nude
  • Cool Girl – Matte true nude
  • Queen B – Matte soft mauve
  • It’s Happening – Matte bright magenta
  • Bend and Snap! – Matte deep raspberry
  • Lady Balls – Matte true red
  • Drop Dead Red – Matte deep mulberry

  • Sell Out – Matte soft pinky-brown
  • Feelin’ Myself – Matte soft peachy-pink
  • Mrs. Roper – Matte bright tangerine
  • 1998 – Matte bright bubblegum pink
  • Evil Twin – Matte deep black cherry
  • Unicorn – Matte bright orchid
  • Who’s Zoomin’ Who – Matte deep sapphire
  • Naughty by Nature – Matte deep chocolate

It’s quite disappointing to hear that a brand new range of products that look and sound so good have already received quite a few negative reviews. I’m a big fan of liquid lipsticks though and I still really want to try them out myself to see what they’re like!

What do you think about this? Would negative reviews put you off trying a product?

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipsticks

L'Oreal-Paris-Infallible-Matte-Max-Lipsticks

Hi Guys!

I’ve recently been trying out some brand new makeup products from L’Oreal Paris, which includes their Sculpt range of foundation, contour and blush, as well as mascara, brow sculpt and these rather fabulous looking Infallible Matte Max Lipsticks…

L'Oreal-Paris-Infallible-Matte-Max-Lipsticks-review

The Infallible Matte Max Lipsticks are described by L’Oreal as their ‘first designer applicator lip pen that creates infinite looks, from gradients and ombre to full bold matte colour’ The idea is the sponge applicator allows you to easily create ombre lips, as well as other lip looks, and the product formula also contains micro-oils, promising a velvet feel on the lips for up to 8 hours.

So on first glance, the Infallible Matte Max Lipsticks really are bringing something new to the table – the applicator is the black part of the product, with the actual lipstick being hidden inside the lid. When you screw the lid on, it screws the applicator into the product, leaving lipstick on the sponge tip – I hope that makes sense!

The shades I have above are –

  • 001 Silenco – nude beige.
  • 002 Like A Virgin – coral pink.
  • 004 Oops I Pink It – pink-red.
  • 006 Disturbia – orange-red.
  • 007 Say My Name – true red.
  • 008 I Gotta Feeling –  mid purple.

L'Oreal-Paris-Infallible-Matte-Max-Lipsticks-swatches

Ok so I really wanted to love these, but I’m afraid I just didn’t, and for quite a few reasons. Firstly the applicator is pretty big, making it quite difficult in my eyes to apply with precision and create an ombre effect – I did try! Next, I couldn’t decide if it was the sponge not picking the product up very well, or if the actual lipstick just wasn’t that pigmented. I think it was actually a bit of both. The formula of the lipstick is quite dry too, making it hard to spread over the lips evenly, and it’s also not as pigmented as I’d like unfortunately.

I know this is pretty negative, but more positive note though, I love that these lipsticks are different and innovative, and I love that L’Oreal Paris are pushing the boundaries and thinking outside the box a little – but despite their good intentions unfortunately I feel this product has fallen short and just isn’t that effective.

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried these and what you think of them?

The L’Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipsticks are £6.99 each and available now from .

Clarins Instant Glow Spring Makeup Collection

clarins-instant-glow-collection

Hi Guys!

Clarins have recently announced the launch of their new Instant Glow Spring Make-up Collection – and as expected, it includes a gorgeous range of products, perfect for the winter to spring transition.

Clarins wants women to glow with confidence this spring. Emerging from the cold winter nights, comes a collection that will brighten eyes with flattering iridescent shades, add a flush of rose to icy cheeks and a swipe of colour and gloss to chapped lips. Indulge in the radiant and blossoming shades of this Instant Glow collection.

clarins-instant-glow-eyeshadow

The Cream to Powder Ombre Iridescent Eyeshadow in 06 Silver Green (£19.00) is just stunning. I already have a few of the Ombre Iridiscent Eyeshadows and they never fail to impress me. I love the beautiful cream-to-powder formula that glides on the lid with ease, and they each have a gorgeous light shimmer too.

Silver Green is one of four new shades in this range, including Silver Ivory, Silver Pink, Silver Green and Silver Plum.

clarins-instant-glow-multi-blush

The Cream Multi-Blush in 05 Rose (£18.50) is definitely another winner from this collection. This dinky little blush is small but perfectly formed, with a lightweight cream formula that’s a dream to work with. Shade 05 Rose is a pretty coral pink shade that works wonderfully well on my fair complexion to give a lovely flush of colour to the cheeks.

clarins-instant-glow-lipsticks

Clarins have also brought out four new shades of their popular Rouge Eclat Age-Defying Lipstick (£19.50) The Instant Glow collection includes: Hot Rose, Pink Blossom, Pink Cherry and Rose Praline. I have Rose Praline (above left) which is a beautiful muted rose shade, and Hot Rose, which is a bright and intense coral pink.

clarins-instant-glow-lip-perfector-plum-shimmer

And lastly the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (£18) comes in two new shades for this collection –  Toffee Pink Shimmer and Plum Shimmer. I have Plum Shimmer, which is a beautiful mid plum shade that smells of sweet vanilla.

clarins-instant-glow-collection-swatches

You can see the lipsticks give a gorgeous semi-sheer, balmy finish. They feel moisturising on the lips and last a good couple of hours before you need to re-apply, and the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector gives a sheer glossy finish with a hint of colour.

The collection also includes a Limited Edition Natural Glow 5-Colour Eye Shadow Palette (£33.00) – which I unfortunately don’t have. It looks like a beautiful wearable palette though so I wanted to mention it too!

clarins-instant-glow-makeup

I’m beyond impressed with all of these products, Clarins have been one of my favourite brands for makeup for a long time, and they just continue to bring out fantastic, easy to use, and very wearable products, the Instant Glow collection is definitely worth checking out!

The Instant Glow Spring Makeup Collection is available now from .

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of these products? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

NEW From Guerlain: La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour Collection

Posted on January 26, 2016

Guerlain-La-Petite-Robe-Noire-Lip-Colour

Hi Guys!

I’m so excited today as I have some stunning new products from one of my favourite luxury brands to share with you! Guerlain have just launched their La Petite Robe Noire Collection, which includes a range of 20 lipsticks and 8 nail polishes – and the packaging is GORGEOUS.

Guerlain-La-Petite-Robe-Noire-collection

The press release tells a sweet little story of Guerlain’s character, La Petite Robe Noire…

‘Alone in front of her wardrobe, La Petite Robe Noire is deep in thought. Despite all the wonderful dresses created for her by Thierry Wasser, she lacks that je-ne-sais-quoi that would highlight her femininity, the little added extra that would reveal her true personality: mischievous, Parisian, spectacular, seductive, elusive and yet with a distinctive presence…’

‘Suddenly, she has a flash of inspiration. It’s so obvious! What she needs is, of course… colour!’

La Petite Robe Noire then rushes to see Olivier Echaudemaison, Guerlain Make-Up Creative Director, and inspired by her energy, he creates the new La Petite Robe Noire collection…

Guerlain-La-Petite-Robe-Noire-Lip-Colour-review

So, what are these lipsticks all about? Well the Petite Robe Noire collection offers easily buildable colour in a massive range of shades, from one swipe for a sheer veil of colour, to three or more if you wish for more intensity. The finish is is very balmy and moisturising, with a light fruity floral scent inspired by the heart notes of La Petite Robe Noire’s fragrance.

Guerlain-La-Petite-Robe-Noire-Lipsticks

The packaging is so pretty, and very unique. The outer casing of the lipstick is made of a clear plastic with a pretty upside down heart on top – again inspired by the original Petite Robe Noire bottle. You can see through this to the inner casing, as well as being able to see the colour of the lipstick underneath.

Guerlain-La-Petite-Robe-Noire-products

There are 20 lipstick shades available, and I have 001 My First Lipstick – giving a beautiful veil of shimmer, it reveals the natural colour of the lips to deliver a tailor-made twist. And 020 Poppy Cap is a bright and summery orange – coral shade.

Guerlain-La-Petite-Robe-Noire-Lip-Colours

Guerlain-La-Petite-Robe-Noire-Lip-Colour-swatches

My First Lipstick gives the most beautiful light sheen to the lips, with an added hint of sparkle, and Poppy Cap, though appearing opaque in the tube, comes out fairly sheer though buildble in colour. Both have a wonderfully creamy, balmy texture that my dry lips just love – as well as a light fragrance which is no where near as strong as I was expecting. I’ve worn these a couple of times now and I can’t get enough of them – I can’t wait to try the nail polishes out too!

The La Petite Robe Noire  and La Petite Robe Noire are available now exclusively at House of Fraser.
