Hi Guys!

Well it’s mid January already, and that means I now have the latest offerings from Glossybox to share with you! We’re back to the standard packaging now (no more pretty Christmas boxes) and I’m excited to find out which goodies are lurking in my box!

Here’s what’s in January’s box –

  • Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow (full size) £10.00
  • Kueshi Natural Revitalizing Face Toner (full size) £8.36
  • Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm (full size) £3.91
  • Me Me Me Eye Liner Pencil (full size) £4.00
  • Nicka K New York Colorluxe Powder Blush (full size) £6.99

Total value of box – £33.26.

Ok so firstly, it’s great to come across a box entirely filled with full sized products. I think this is a first for me – and possibly a first ever?? My first impressions are a bit comme ci comme ca thoughI’m not overly excited by the look of any of these products, but I don’t dislike the look of them either. The Kueshi Revitalizing Face Toner smells really fruity, and reminds me of a Body Shop body spray I had as a young teen, though I can’t remember the name of it. Toner is one of those funny products that some people swear by, and other don’t feel the need for at all. I’ve tried this out and it’s fairly good, it makes my skin feel that extra bit clean, but I have to say I’d rather keep strong scents out of my skincare routine.

The Nicka K New York Blush is an interesting looking product. It has a super handy mirror on top of the lid, and basically the powder blush is held at the bottom of the pot, with a powder puff fixed above which lets the powder seep through, so you don’t need any brushes for application. I actually really like this! I like the handy all in one product / applicator and the shade is an easy to wear peachy pink with a very slight hint of shimmer.

The Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow is a gel based illuminator which can be used anywhere on the face or body where you want to add a bit of highlight. The gel is a beautiful pinkish champagne shade and quite shimmery. I think this would look great on tanned skin in the summer. The MeMeMe Eyeline pencil in Clay is a mid brown matte eyeliner, it’s not the softest pencil but still perfectly wearable. I like the shade as a great alternative to black for an every day look. And lastly the Superfruits Blueberry Lip Balm. It’s 97% organic and 100% natural, and smells of course of blueberries. I’ve used this a couple of times and It’s a nice little every day balm. I do have super dry lips at the moment though so I think I really need a more intensive product. If you have ‘normal’ lips this should be fine for you.

Overall there are a couple of nice products in here, and a couple that are more on the average side. I still feel a bit on the fence about this box – I’d love to hear what you think?

I hope you enjoyed my review xxx

Glossybox December | Review

glossybox-december-review

Hi Guys!

I can’t believe it’s mid December already! It seems like no time ago November’s Glossybox was arriving at my door, and now the Christmas box is here! December’s box doesn’t actually have a Christmas theme regarding products, but the box itself has a pretty snowflake print, so I may use it to package up some Christmas gifts!

Here’s what’s in December’s box –

  • So Susan Concealer Quad (full size) £18.95
  • Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Stain in colour Coral (full size) £12.99
  • SkinPep Hydra Boost- Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum (trial size 15ml) £8.99
  • TRESemmé Renewal Hair and Scalp Nourish 60 Second Treatment Shot (4x 15ml set) £5.50
  • Anatomicals Zap! Zap! Zap! Gets that Chap. Day and Night Spot Stick (full size) £3.00

Total value of box – £49.43

I have to say the value of the box really surprised me, I really didnt think these products would be worth pretty much £50! So I’ll start off with the points – I really like the Tresseme set, I’ve used one of the treatment shots so far and it left my hair feeling smooth and nourished, so the rest will definitely get used. The Hyaluronic Acid Serum was also a favourite – this is really similar to Indeedlabs Hydraluron Ultimate Moisture Boosting Serum which I love. The super silky serum melted into my skin to hydrate it without leaving any residue, which is a bonus! And the Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain is a lovely easy to wear coral shade, it gave a hint of colour to my cheeks but didn’t really show on my lips.

Ok so now onto the negatives. I have to say I’m not overly impressed with the So Susan Concelaer Quad. Firstly, its way too dark for my fair skin tone – I did rectify this by mixing the white shade with the other colours though, but the concealers also felt quite dry and were hard to work with. Also the palette is TINY (only 4g of product) and for an RRP of nearly £19 I think it’s way over priced. Another no so great product was the Anatomicals Day and Night Spot Stick, I usually love Anatomicals products but this hasn’t helped get rid my big red friend sitting in the middle of my chin at all. It’s only been 24 hours though so maybe I need to persevere…

Overall I’m a bit on the fence about this box, for me there are a couple of good products and a couple of not so good ones. Also, November’s box received a Best Secret invitation and voucher, and I think it would have been nice to get a little extra something in December’s box really as it is Christmas!

I hope you enjoyed my review, I’d love to hear what you think? xxx

Hi Guys!

Following on from the totally amazing Harvey Nichols limited edition Glossybox, I received a surprise parcel in the post, which happened to be November’s Glossybox! I’m sure you’ve heard of Glossybox but just incase you haven’t, it’s a monthly subscription box containing a mixture of full sized and trial size beauty products. You can buy a one off box for £10, or subscribe which works out less per month depending on which subscription option you choose.

Here’s what’s in November’s box –

  • Umberto Giannini Miracle Worker (125ml full size) £8
  • Monu Skincare Refining Capri Facial Oil (30ml sample) worth £7.80
  • H20+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment (8ml sample) worth £4.40
  • Lollipops Makeup Eye Pencil (full size) £11.18
  • Burt’s Bees Lip Shine (full size) £6.99

Total value of box – £38.37

I think this box contains a great mixture of products, I imagine there would definitely be at least a couple of items everyone would be happy with. My personal favourite is the H20+ Hydrating Treatment, I’ve used this once and it’s really soothed my super dry skin. I’m also a big fan of Monu products and I love the super cute packaging of the Lollipops Eyeliner! I’ve never heard of this brand before, I’ve just taken a look at their site and I love the look of the products, they kind of remind me of Paul & Joe cosmetics, I hope Glossybox will be including them in future boxes! I also think it’s great that Glossybox have included three full size items in this box, I’m really impressed!

I should also mention that November’s box contained a ‘Best Secret’ invitation card with a £20 voucher. Best secret is a site similar to Secret Sales, where you can grab loads of designer bargains! I’m going to take a good look around the site when I get a chance!

I hope you enjoyed my review, I’d love to hear what you think? xxx
