You may not have heard of Battington Lashes if you’re in the UK – they’re a US based luxury lashe brand that have just launched at Space NK, and I have the full lowdown for you today…
Battington Lashes was created by Sirine Swed to fill a gap in the market – where most lashes today are either synthetic, or even blunt cut human hair or mink (!!!) the creators behind Battington wanted to offer a luxury true-to-life looking lash, that is both animal and cruelty free.
Battington Lashes are made of 100% handmade silk. They look completely real and natural, and also promise to last longer then any other lash, offering up to 25 applications per set.
The benefits of silk lashes appear to be second to none – apart from the cruelty free element, they also look AMAZING – I mean the individual hairs on these lashes look just like real human eyelashes. They are also super lightweight, they hold their curl, and they also last longer that traditional lashes. I have three out of the six lash sets available at Space NK to show you today –
Firstly, the Earheart Silk Lashes (£22.00) – these lashes are super, super fine for a realistic, natural look, perfect for those that don’t want their falsies to be detectable in any way, but want a natural touch of volume to their lashes. Earhart gives a subtle emphasis to the eyes, without creating drama.
Next the Hepburn Silk Lashes (£22.00) – these are basically at the opposite end of the lash spectrum to the above Earhart set. The Hepburn lashes give both dramatic length and volume, with longer length lashes at the outer corners to create an open eye effect.
And lastly the Monroe 3D Silk Lashes (£24.00) – slightly different to the above two sets of lashes, Battington’s ‘3D’ lashes feature a multi-layered silk strip lash, giving a fuller ‘fluffy’ effect. I think the Monroe lashes are my favourite out of the three I have, they’re a nice fluttery, noticeable length, without being too long, and they give great volume – which my short stumpy lashes are missing on a day to day basis. These are perfect to wear both day and night, giving definition, length and volume.
Overall I’m very impressed with Battington Lashes – yes they are expensive, but when you consider how many uses you get out of a set, it’s less than £1.00 per wear, which is nothing really. I love how lightweight and comfortable they are to wear, which really is important if you’re wearing lashes for any length of time, and like I said above, the Monroe 3D Lashes were definitely my favourite out of the three. Space NK also offer two other variations of 3D lashes which would be perfect for those looking for a more intense lash look.
