Kiko Miami Beach Babe Collection

Posted on June 11, 2015

Hi Guys!

Hot on the heels of their fantastic Modern Tribes collection – which I absolutely adored – Kiko have released their latest Miami Beach Babe collection, and it’s definitely worth checking out!

The Miami Beach Babe collection is all about sun, sea and fun. With brightly coloured packaging housing lively and fluorescent shades, I have an eyeliner, mascara and two lipsticks, and they all look right up my street!

‘The complexion is kissed by the sun. The skin glows, thanks to bronzers and blushes with innovative textures that blend easily and feel wonderful. The finish is radiant, natural. The brightly coloured eyeliners and mascaras light up the eyes for a high-impact, dramatic look. The lips are ultra glossy and jump out with luminous colours. The nails are dressed up with original and fun decorations.’

Let’s start with the lipsticks, which I’m officially in love with. The Deco Delight Lipsticks (£7.90) come in a bright purple casing and have the most awesome polkadots on the lipstick bullet. Apart from looking super cute and fun, these unusual dots definitely make the Deco Delight Lipsticks the highlight of this collection. I should point out that these dots are made of a waxy type material, they’re for decoration only and come off really easily should you wish to remove them – I’m not sure why about one would want to get rid of them though!

When swatched, the lipsticks give a lovely sheer hydrating slick of colour that’s perfect for summer when you don’t want heavy formulas sitting on your skin. Above are shades 07 Calypso Sun and 08 Cherry Julep, Calypso Sun is a lovely coral toned orange with red spots, and Cherry Julep is a deep magenta with lilac spots.

The Power Pop Mascara (£7.20) comes in a bright aqua coloured tube and has a large brush. It comes in four shades including Candy Pink, Electric Blue, Pop Up Green and Black. I can’t comment on how the coloured shades come out as I have the black one, but I can tell you this mascara is great for volume if you’re looking for thicker lashes.

And lastly the Miami Click Slick Eyeliner (£6.90) This is probably my favourite product. I’m a big fan of felt tip style liquid eyeliners as I find them far easier to use than the traditional brush style applicators. The Click Slick eyeliners come in six shades including gold, brown, blues and a black, and I have the most gorgeous shade…

…just how amazing does this look!? I can’t get over this amazing high shimmer peacock colour! Is it blue or is it green? I don’t know! This shade is called Everglades Green (I guess there’s my answer) and it’s easily my favourite product out of the lot – I can’t wait to rock this shade this summer!

I’d love to hear if you have any products by Kiko? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

My Top 5 Budget Beauty Products Under £10.00

Posted on May 27, 2015

Hi Guys!

As you probably know by now, I do feature quite a lot of high end brands – and I should admit I’m a complete sucker for a fancy brand with pretty packaging. But what about high street cosmetics? There’s actually quite a few high street products that I use on a regular basis, so with that in mind I decided to rummage through my makeup bag and pick out my top 5 budget beauty buys under £10.00!

1.  (£5.49) After using up my beloved Benefit Boi-ing Concealer which I feel like I’ve had for a lifetime, rather than forking out £17.50 for a new one, I asked the good people of Twitter for their recommendations for a budget alternative, and Seventeen’s Phwoarr Paint was suggested. At almost a third of the price of Benefit, I thought this was definitely worth a try, and it really is fantastic! This is a great highly pigmented creamy concealer that’s perfect for covering under eye dark circles – which is what I mostly use it for.

2. Sleek True Colour Lipsticks (£4.99) Sleek are officially my favourite budget lipstick brand, with my go-to shade being Liqueur, which is the perfect every day nude shade. I also love their fantastic selection of brights. The creamy yet highly pigmented finish is a fantastic dupe for MAC’s Amplified lipsticks, and at only £4.99 for a lippie, you’d be mad not to try them out!

3. Bourjois Contour Clubbing Eyeliner (£4.99) I can’t live without eyeliner, and I’ve tried a fair few in my time. I always end up going back to my trusty Contour Clubbing pencils though. My long-term favourite has to be Bleu Neon, an intense electric blue shade. I love that Bourjois have introduced a mass of different shades including blues, greens, purples and even a pink so you can experiment with eyeliner looks without breaking the bank.

4. Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2 Eyeshadow Palette (£6.99) Makeup Revolution have really upped their game with their new Iconic 1 & 2 Eyeshadow Palettes, they have an updated and much improved eyeshadow formula which is just fantastic, and I’ve found myself going back to my Iconic 2 Palette time and time again. This palette contains the perfect selection of shades to take you from day to night, as well as a large mirror and ‘Pro‘ double ended brush for easy application. These eyeshadows are amazingly well pigmented as well as being easy to apply and blend.

5. Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara (£9.99) Yes another Bourjois product! Their relatively new 1 Seconde Mascara is surprisingly one of my favourite mascaras – I say surprisingly because I usually shy away from large mascara wands as my lashes are super short so I often end up making a mess! I love the formula of 1 Seconde though, it does wonders for my stumpy lashes giving length as well as volume, and long lasting curl. This will definitely be re-purchased once it runs out!

I hope you enjoyed my post! I’d love to hear what your favourite budget beauty buys are? xxx

Kiko Modern Tribes Collection

Posted on April 27, 2015

Hi Guys!

Kiko Cosmetics was one of the beauty brands I had my heart set on trying this year, and I’m so glad I have! I tried a couple of their lip products in one of their Valentine’s sets, and more recently their Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow from the Latest in Beauty Glamour Box, and I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve seen so far. They’ve also just brought out an exciting new collection too – .

The Modern Tribes collection is just perfect for the impending summer. It focusses on glowing bronzed skin, intense eye colours and natural pink shades for the lips. It’s a pretty hefty limited edition collection, including foundations, a whole range of colour cosmetics, fragrances and a face brush. I have a blusher, lip and cheek pencil, eyeliner and mascara to share with you today.

The Tri-bal Soul Baked Blush in 03 Wild Mauve (£14.90) is easily my favourite product, I mean just look at it! It comes packaged in a beautiful and unusual dark wooden case with a magnetic closure, and a handy internal mirror, and the product itself smells quite vanillary, similar to a MAC lipstick. The blush consists of three complimentary shades in one pan, the shades are large enough to use individually, or can be swept together to deliver the perfect balance of colour. This is easily one of the prettiest and most wearable blushers I’ve ever come across, I love the fact that you have a choice of three shades to suit your mood, and the satin / sheen finish it leaves on your skin is just beautiful. This is a fantastic blusher to add radiance and brightness to your complexion, and it also comes in three different shades (which are going on my wish list!)

Next the Free Spirit Lips & Cheeks Pencil in 02 Supreme Guava (£8.90) – this is a multi-functional jumbo lipstick and blush pencil that delivers a radiant matte finish. It has beautiful highly pigmented creamy texture that glides on and is easily blendable and buildable for more intense colour. Supreme Guava is the most stunning bright coral peach shade, I’ve been wearing it on both lips and cheeks and it’s just the most beautiful summery shade – I’m a big fan of peaches and corals! As with all the products in this collection, it would look fantastic with a tan!

The Graphic Ritual Kajal Eyeliner in 03 Touch Turquoise (£6.90) is one of six vibrant inner and outer eyeliners for use on the waterline. This pencil is super soft – so soft that I applied too much pressure when I first used it and broke the tip off, oops! You know I’m a fan of coloured eyeliners so Touch Turquoise is right up my street! It’s an intense turquoise shade with a hint of sparkle, I’ve used this for nearly a full day and I’m happy to say it stayed put and didn’t smudge at all.

And lastly the Dawn To Dusk Volume Mascara in Black (£8.90) – as it says on the packet, this is a black mascara with buildable volume. The formula has a creamy texture and gives a shiny finish to create volumized lashes. I have to say though, the wand is pretty big and I think if you have super short lashes like I do, you might find it a bit difficult to use. If you’re blessed in the lash department though then go for it as this mascara definitely creates volume!

Ok so there we go! Can you tell I’m just loving this collection? I really want to snap up the other two blush shades because they’re just so beautiful, and there’s also a bronzer in this collection too, which I might just pop into my shopping cart while I’m there 😀

I’d love to hear what you think? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Glossybox | The Iconic Hollywood Edition‏

Posted on April 22, 2015

Hi Guys!

I just love a limited edition – a limited edition anything. It’s just a bit special and a bit of a treat. I also love when beauty box companies bring out their themed or limited boxes, and Glossybox have done just that. For April Glossybox has returned to Hollywood’s golden age of glamour. Taking inspiration from the great and the glorious, Glossybox presents the Collector’s Edition Iconic Hollywood box.

GLOSSYBOX has captured the allure of Audrey, the marvel that is Marilyn and the wonder of Grace Kelly to curate the Iconic Hollywood Box. The classic red lipstick, the essential black eyeliner and a warm nude nail polish take over this month‘s box. GLOSSYBOX have hand- picked the best in beauty, promising products from brands including Darphin, Lord & Berry and Color Club, to help you capture the look of your favourite Hollywood heroes.

So what’s in the box?

  • Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in Kiss – Full size worth £10.00
  • POP Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen – Full size worth £6.50
  • Darphin Exquisage Beauty Revealing Cream 5ml – 50ml is £65 so 5ml is £6.50
  • Color Club Barely There Nail Polish – Full size worth £4.10
  • Nougat London Soothing Bath Pearls – 35ml worth £6.00

Total value of box = £33.10

The Lord & Berry Lip Pencil instantly grabs my attention – this is easily the star product in the box. It’s a bright orange toned red shade that definitely isn’t for the faint hearted. This pencil gives a matte finish that doesn’t budge, smudge or move from the lips – I think this shade is perfect for a statement lip this summer.

The Pop Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen, isn’t actually a pen – I just wanted to point that out! It’s a double ended eyeliner with a Kajal pencil at one end to create a killer feline flick, and a smudger at the other if you want to smudge your eyeliner out for a smokey look. It gives a great line that’s well pigmented and didn’t seem to budge after wearing it for a day.

The Color Club Nail Lacquer in Barely There is the perfect nude shade for fairer complexions – but – I have to say I was actually quite disappointed with this polish. It was just so sheer. On first application it might as well have been a clear polish, and I was still nowhere near full opacity after three applications. I guess it just depends what you’re looking for in a nail polish. I personally like a full and intense colour. If you prefer a very sheer colour that just gives shine, then this is for you.

Next the Nougat London Soothing Bath Pearls in Cherry Blossom – they smell just beautiful. You’re directed to sprinkle a handful into your bath and leave to dissolve to release their soothing scent. It’s a pretty small bag (35g) so I think you could get 2-3 baths out of it. I think this is a great introduction to Nougat London products though.

And lastly the Darphin Exquisage Beauty Revealing Cream. This comes in a dinky little 5ml pot – which is perfect for trying the cream out as it’s a massive £65 for the 50ml full size jar. This cream uses the CelluVie™ Complex” and skin strengthening Probiotics to rapidly replenish skin with comforting moisture and protection. It aims to visibly improve skins elasticity, soften lines and wrinkles and improve radiance.

The April Collector’s Edition Iconic Hollywood GLOSSYBOX is £10 (+P&P) and will be available throughout April 2015 from www.glossybox.co.uk while stock lasts.

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

My Top Picks From Neve Cosmetics

Posted on March 26, 2015

Hi Guys!

You know I love bright colours, and Neve Cosmetics really have hit the nail on the head here! I’ve got some fab products to show you today, including this amazing palette of rainbow eyeshadow shades, a brightening primer, coloured eyeliner pencil, concealer and illuminating powder.

The Intensissimi Eye Palette (£21.95) contains ten bright and bold eyeshadow shades, in a fantastic array of rainbow colours. I know this isn’t going to be everyone’s’ cup of tea, so it’s also worth noting they have other palettes available with darker colours, pastel shades and neutrals too. I love that the palette is a really good size, and the pans are massive so you definitely get your money’s worth when it comes to the amount of product included. The only improvement I’d add is a mirror in the lid!

And just look at the pigmentation! These colours rally are superb. They’re super soft, full of pigment and are easy to apply and blend too. The only palette I have that I can compare this too is the Makeup Revolution Colour Chaos Palette, which is smaller in size but full of bright shades. I think the Neve palette comes out on top just because the pigmentation is that much better, though I’d still recommend the MUR palette if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative.

I also have the Hide and Seek Concealer (£6.95) – this is a handy little pot of cream concealer that really does the job. It dries to a matte powder finish, and it’s also vegan, silicone and paraben free. I have the second lightest shade which is Light and it’s definitely fair enough for my neon white skin tone. I love the super matte finish it gives – there’s nothing creamy or shiny about this product at all. I’m currently using it to help disguise my under eye dark circles and it’s doing a great job!

The Illuminismo Face Powder (£9.95) is a gorgeous soft and silky weightless powder that highlights the complexion – it’s basically a loose powder version of MAC’s MSF’s. It’s perfect for creating highlights under the brows, on the cheekbones, or wherever you want your skin to catch the light. Again it contains no parabens and no silicones and it’s vegan and cruelty free. I have to say I really love the finish of this powder, it really is just like a MSF, but I think I’d prefer it in a pressed powder just for ease of use.

And the BioPrimer Brightening Primer for dull skin (£9.50) – this is another vegan, cruelty and silicone free product, promising a smooth finish to the skin with brightening properties to enhance a dull or dry complexion. This sounds just what I need right now! It’s formulated with nourishing argan oil, protective shea butter and moisturising aloe extract, so this primer aims to give skin a healthy and radiant finish. I love that it gives the slightest hint of illumination to the skin, I couldn’t capture it on camera unfortunately. It’s not sparkly or shimmery, but definitely illuminating and just makes your complexion look a bit brighter.

I’m really impressed with all of the products I’ve been using today, and I can’t get enough of the amazing eyeshadow palette. I’ve used some of the eyeshadow shades, and the Pastello Eyeliner Pencil in Turquoise (£3.95) in the waterline to creat a quick, fun and colourful eye look – what do you think?

Neve Cosmetics are available in the UK from  – do check them out, as I brand I think they’re definitely underrated! And I also have a previous post on their lip products here.

I hope you enjoyed my review! xxx

NEW Bourjois Colorband 2-in-1 Eyeshadow and Liner Pencils

Posted on February 19, 2015

Hi Guys!

I was so excited last week to receive an unexpected parcel, inside was a pretty mesh bag containing the latest gorgeous offerings from one of my favourite makeup brands – Bourjois!

I thought I’d start off by showing you Bourjois’ new Colorband 2-in-1 Eyeshadow and Liner chunky pencils. They come in six lovely shades, and I have four of them –

  • Noir Abstrait (black)
  • Beige Minimal (champagne gold)
  • Mauve (Metallic mauve)
  • Grid Graffiti (Metallic grey)

The Colorband 2-in-1 Eyeshadow and Liners offer high pigmented colour that apparently lasts for an impressive 24 hours. Personally I’m not sure who would wear makeup for a whole 24 hours, but I definitely believe Bourjois when they say this stuff is super long lasting. The below arm swatches WOULD NOT COME OFF. I rubbed my arm till it was going red (admittedly I wasn’t at home so I was just using a baby wipe!) and there were still visible faint marks. This is kind of a good thing but if you’re wanting to try the darker shades of these pencils I’d highly recommend you have an awesome eye makeup remover at hand!

Anyway! These pencils really are beautiful. Apart from the stunning colour pallet, which has Spring written all over it, Bourjois have included some easy to wear shades such as Beige Minimal, a gorgeous shimmery champagne gold – which looks fantastic on blue eyes, and Mauve, which is almost a shimmery muted rose, it’s so pretty!

If you’d prefer a more intense look, Bourjois have thrown in a metallic grey shade, and the deepest blackest black you could ever ask for. As I said, the black shade is still clearly on my arm from where I swatched it (the mark of a beauty blogger!) but I haven’t tried this one on my eyes yet – I’ll be honest, I am a bit scared!! At this point I should also tell you, that out of everything I could have dropped on my cream carpet, I dropped the Noir Abstrait (black) Colorband Pencil – point down. GENIUS. I now have a big black mark on the carpet under my desk, which I’ve rubbed and managed to spread, and it looks like even Vanish won’t get it off, arrrgh! So yeah, just be warned that this pencil is super black and super long lasting!

Ok so I hope I haven’t put you off? I have tried the other shades on my eyes and I have to say that these pencils really are superb! They have a gorgeously soft and creamy texture that glides on like a dream. They’re really easy to use, and are ultra long lasting and waterproof too.

Just look at the swatches! How gorgeous are these colours!? I think it you’re a fan of the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows, or W7 Chunky Eyes Pencils you’ll really like these. They both have similar highly pigmented, metallic finishes to these pencils. I’m definitely going to try the black out soon on my eyes, wish me luck! 😀

The Bourjois Colorband 2-in-1Eyeshadow & Liners are £5.99 each at .

So what do you think? I’d love to hear if you have any favourite Bourjois products? I hope you enjoyed my review! xxx

Urban Decay Naked on the Run | Review

Posted on January 3, 2015

Hi Guys!

I thought I’d give my new Urban Decay Naked on the Run palette a go today to see what it’s like. I was super excited to receive this for christmas from my other half, so I hope it lives up to my expectations! As far as the Naked series goes, I only currently have the Naked 2 palette, which I hardly ever use, and the original Naked Basics, which I use pretty much every day – so fingers crossed this palette is another winner!

The idea of the Naked on the Run palette is that it’s perfect for if you’re on the go. Apart from a base and brushes, it has pretty much everything you need to create or just to touch up a full face of makeup. I love the idea that everything is in one handy palette!

It includes –

  • Pervrsion (black) Mascara
  • 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Stag
  • Naked Gloss in Sesso
  • 5x eyeshadows in matte and shimmer finishes including Dive (metallic rose w/golden micro-shimmer), Fix (soft taupe matte), Resist (medium metallic taupe), Dare (medium brown matte), Stun (metallic bronze w/light gold micro-shimmer)
  • Bronzer and blush pans
  • Highlighter / eyeshadow in 5050 (cool bisque satin)

On first inspection, I’m really impressed with this set, it’s pretty big, sturdy and heavy. You could probably knock someone out with this bad boy! It’s well packaged and looks expensive. Also the products are all either full size or larger sized minis, so they’ll last for a while, and the shades look great too!

So let’s take a look at the eyshadows first. Like I said, on first inspection I thought they looked great, but when swatched I feel like they’re all a bit similar. I know they’re all meant to follow the naked theme, but the two brown matte shades are very similar, as are the brown shimmers. I do love the warmer shimmer shade (Dive) but it would have been nice to see a bit more variation in there – maybe a very dark brown / almost black matte shade? Regardless of the colour, the formula of all the shadows is pretty much top notch, as expected from Urban Decay.

The bronzer, blush and highlight are next. I’ll be honest, I gave them the benefit of the doubt in the pans, but swatched on my hand, I’m pretty scared of the bronzer and blush! They are BRIGHT! The bronzer also look slightly orange toned, which really puts me off as I know this shade won’t suit my pale skin tone. I’ve now given them a go and the bronzer doesn’t look too bad as long as it’s applied really sparingly, and the same for the blush. The highlight is definitely my favourite of the three, it gives a lovely subtle luminous glow to the skin.

And lastly the eyeliner and gloss. The 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Stag is described as a deep brown satin shade, and I have to say I love it. It’s a great alternative to black, and really easy to wear. The formula is spot on (UD eyeliners are one of my favourites) and it lasts all day. The Naked Gloss in Sesso is described as a rose shade with a pink shimmer, and again it’s a super easy to wear sheer colour which will suit most skin tones. If I was being critical I would probably say the gloss isn’t particularly special in any way, it’s just a nice colour.

Overall I do like this palette, but given the chance I probably wouldn’t have bought it now I’ve actually had the chance to try it out. What I’d love to see is a bit more variation, maybe with a a choice of three base palettes, with interchangeable eyeliner and glosses – a kind of build your own set maybe? Also while I’m thinking about it, UD could even make their own mini brushes to go with the set that could live in a pull out drawer under the pans? Just a thought!

I’d love to hear if you have the Naked on the Run Set and what you think of it?

I hope you enjoyed my review xx
