Posted on September 21, 2015

the outnet beauty

Hi Guys!

I’ve just heard some exciting news from designer fashion outlet, . Along with their designer bargains, they’ll also be adding beauty sets to the mix as part of their holiday campaign, woo hoo!

In case you’re not familiar with THE OUTNET.COM, they’re a sister company to NET-A-PORTER.COM and they offer amazing designer products at great prices. They stock a large selection of previous-season designer fashion from over 250 brands, as well as exclusive collaborations with high-profile designer labels and its own in-house label, Iris & Ink.

So, as of October (date tbc) – and for a limited time only, THE OUTNET.COM will offer beauty sets from 18 luxury beauty brands, including Natura Bisse, Lipstick Queen, By Terry, Eyeko, Ren, Goldfaden and Ellis. In addition, a range of sets by 111 Skin, Aurelia and Sarah Chapman exclusively created for THE OUTNET will make up part of the offering.

Each of the beauty sets will include several full-size, current season products with an amazing 20-30% off the RRP. This gives THE OUTNET.COM customers an opportunity to experience some of the leading beauty products already available at its sister site, NET-A-PORTER.COM.

Also, none of the products within the sets are sold individually, so I’m really excited to see which products they’ll match together. I predict these sets will be really popular for Christmas!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

What I Gave, And Received for Christmas

Posted on December 29, 2014

Hi Guys!

So Christmas is most definitely over, but we’re not quite back to normal yet. It’s that weird in between time – between Christmas and New Year where if you’re anything like me, you basically carry on eating everything in sight, and shop the sales till your credit card decides to cut itself up because it can’t take the battering any more.

My original intention was to do a ‘What I Got for Christmas’ post, but I kind of feel a bit weird about it, it’s a bit like ‘look at all the amazing things I got…’ I dunno, a bit showy maybe? But that said, I do really like being nosey and seeing other people posts and checking out the amazing things they received, so I decided in the end to tell you about what I gave and received, kind of a Christmas day overview. I didn’t really receive anything that’s worth a lot anyway – I tend to ‘treat’ myself with the expensive things I want! (I’ve included these here too) So yeah, I hope you kind of see where I’m coming from??

Anyway I had such a lovely Christmas day, of course it was all about Fred, we set out a mince pie and milk for Santa and a carrot for the reindeers on Christmas Eve, and when Fred came down the stairs on Christmas morning his eyes were like saucers when he saw the empty plate and glass, bless him!

Ollie loved his book about buttons and fasteners (he does metal detecting!) and his Book of Everything. I also gave him a posh bottle of whiskey and a couple of other bits. Fred was ecstatic with all his new Peppa Pig toys (and I now really have no idea where I’m going to put them all!) And Ollies mum gave us the most amazing hamper full of food and drink and even included a sweet little a jar of money!

I’ve been a very lucky girl and received some lovely gifts too this year, Ollie gave me the Urban Decay Naked on the Run Palette, Sali Hughes Pretty Honest and Bobbi Brown books. My father in law gave me a sample set of chocolate themed perfumes from Bloom perfumery too, and I’m officially in love with all of them! I definitely want to buy at least one full sized bottle, so I’ve decided to visit the store next year so I can sample their full range, I’m so excited! (I don’t have a photo of these I’m afraid as I seem to have left them at my Mum’s house)

My parents gave me some money towards a new pair of Ugg boots, as I managed to ruin my previous pair in bad weather. And I also may have treated myself to a couple of special bits before Christmas in the Black Friday sales… I picked up a beautiful Michael Kors black Jet Set Chain Tote and the Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel set from Selfridges – the CT set had 10% off and the bag had 20% off, so it would have been rude no to!

I also picked up a couple of the new Tom Ford Lips and Boys lipsticks too – This reminds me I must think about starting a spending ban!!

So these gifts were like ‘Merry Christmas to me, from me’. I’ve been very good and haven’t even touched any of the make up yet, I’m going to photograph it all, hopefully today, and post reviews throughout the week.

I really did have a lovely Christmas, I hope you did too! I’d love to hear about your day?? xxx

The Henriette bracelet by Lola Rose is a narrow bangle designed in a gold tone brass, embellished with 5 square Blue Sandstone semi precious stones that have a beautiful glitter finish. I’m officially in love with this bracelet, Lola Rose, to me, conjured up images of chunky bracelets and faceted hearts, which aren’t really my thing, but with it’s gold tone finish and glittery sandstones, this bracelet is my style to a T!

The Best Of: Yves Rocher Fragrances

Posted on December 22, 2014

Hi Guys!

When you think of perfumes, Yves Rocher may not be the brand the first springs to mind, even though they are the number one selling beauty brand in France, they are still becoming established here in the UK. Yves Rocher sell everything from cosmetics, to haircare, bath and body products, to skincare and sun creams to slimming products.

They have also created a vast array of fragrances, and I have five of their most popular scents to share with you today…

Vanille Noire – Vanille Noire is a beautiful scent based on the three most attractive qualities of vanillawhich unveil a treasure trove of nuances and subtleties on your skin: – the sensual, leathery notes of Vanilla Bourbon Absolute, sweet and floral Tahitian Vanilla Absolute, and Ugandan Vanilla Absolute with its spicy, woody character. This is a lovely light, fresh woody scent that would be great for day or evening.

Vanille Noir 50ml is currently £24.50 with a massive 50% discount.

Flowerparty By Night – Flowerparty By Night reinterprets the original fragrance with a daring touch. This spicy night time version, with an ultra addictive licorice accent reveals a bold seductiveness. An irresistible fruity floral with signature notes of addictive flavours. It’s botanical based ingredients include bitter almond essential oil, star anise and bourbon vanilla absolute extracts.

Flowerparty 50ml is currently £19 with a massive 50% discount.

 – This wonderfully romantic scent combines top notes of bergamot and red pepper, middle notes of damask rose, patchouli, guaiac wood and base notes of benzoin, cedarwood, amyris wood to create a beautiful scent that is evocative of beauty, love and romance. This is what falling in love smells like 🙂

Quelques Notes d’Amour 50ml is currently £27.50 with a 45% discount.

 – This is an old favourite of mine, and my first experience with Yves Rocher fragrances. So Elixir Purple contains top notes of bergamot, middle notes of tuberose and vetiver and base notes of benzoi, vanilla, tanka bean, frankincense, patchouli and woods. It’s an easy to wear but slightly unusual scent, which I love! So Elixir Purple is floral, woody, seductive and unique.

So Elixir Purple is currently £24.50 with a massive 50% discount.

 – Comme Une Evidence is a very clean and floral scent, perfect for the girly girl. It contains top notes of bergamot and violet leaves, middles notes of rose, jasmine and wild lily of the valley, and base notes of patchouli. The description for the Yves Rocher site describes the scent perfectly – ‘There are times when everything is clear and simple, when everything around you exudes harmony and amplitude… These moments have their fragrance: Comme une Evidence… Clear, harmonious, essential and profound, it enfolds you in utter well-being. It all begins with the tender green emotion of slightly crumpled violet leaves. Then, rose, jasmine and wild lily of the valley blossom easily into the soft caress of an oh, so feminine floral heart. The whole rests on a carpet of moss and patchouli, like a soothing shadow. A sensation of sweet harmony, a very special moment.’

Comme Une Evidence is currently £16.50 with a massive 50% discount.

If you’re looking to purchase fragrances this Christmas, you should definitely consider Yves Rocher – they have some stunning fragrances with fantastic discounts at the moment, make sure you snap them up while you can!

Gift Idea – Penhaligon’s Samarkand Classic Candle

Posted on December 17, 2014

Hi Guys!

You know I love a good candle, and I’m a big fan of more niche scents and brands too, so today I’m really excited to let you know all about the newest addition to my collection – the Penhaligon’s .

Penhaligon’s have been on my radar for a while but I hadn’t had the pleasure of trying out any of their products until now. I started reading on their site to learn a bit more about the company and the first thing that I read really struck me – We strive to create original scents for the discerning eccentrics of today.

This statement is just perfection to me! It’s pretty much my aim in life to be eccentric – I want to be a cross between Lord Bath, Russell Brand and Lady Gaga! Does that sound a bit odd? I hope so! 😀

I was going to throw in a few more quotes about Penhaligon’s, but if you’re interested, have a read  to learn more about the history behind the company, I’d definitely recommend it.

Anyway, onto the candle! The Samarkand candle is in fact the official scent of London Fashion Week for Spring / Summer 2015 which is rather exciting. The scent is described as an exotic oriental awash with sweet flowers, spices and wood, and it was inspired by the ancient city of Samarkand, one of the oldest cities in the world. The Samarkand fragrance combines clove, jasmine and lily on a warm base of sandalwood & vanilla, and it really is a beautiful scent. It’s also worth mentioning that Penhaligon’s luxurious hand blended candles are packed with essential oils, made with a naturally derived soy wax and also feature a cotton braided wick for a clean & smoke free burn.

I’m thrilled with the Samarkand candle, and now I can’t wait to try out some more Penhaligon’s products, I’ve got my eye on a few of their fragrances and bath oils next!

The  is £32.00, and the Brighton Collection Matches which are also pictured are £30.00.

I hope you enjoyed my post! I’d love to hear if you’ve tried anything from Penhaligons? xxx
