I Have An Announcement…

Posted on November 25, 2015

Hi Guys!

If you saw my tweets last night, you’ll know I’ve been itching to announce something today.  Well I’ve been busy working away on a top secret project for the last couple of months, and I can finally tell you all about it today!

I’ve only gone and collaborated with one of my favourite companies, Cohorted – and I’ve curated their December beauty box for them!

I’ve chosen some fantastic products from some of my favourite brands for you, but I can only reveal one of them… the Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer! This little beauty is a two-in-one bronzer and mini blush, in a generously sized heart shaped glossy palette. It’s just gorgeous and worth £28.00!

The Cohorted x TSNC box will be dispatched from December 5th, and it’s available now to pre-order here.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this collaboration! It’s been so hard keeping it to myself all this time!

I’d love to hear what you think? I hope you’re as excited about December’s box as I am! xxx

Kiko Midnight Siren Limited Edition Collection

Posted on November 4, 2015

Hi Guys!

What I love about Kiko more than anything – well actually just as much as their very reasonable prices – is that every collection they come up with brings something new to the table. No two limited edition collections are alike, from the products to the outer packaging, Kiko constantly offer brand new and interesting products. They’re also a fantastic option for MAC fans on a budget!

Kiko’s latest collection is called Midnight Siren, which focuses heavily on the contrast of fresh, glowing skin, with dark, vivid colours for eyes, including shades of intense petroleum blue and emerald green. Lips are full and sensual, enhanced by a radiant matte finish, and eyebrows are disciplined and expressive, without being weighed down.

So let’s take a look at the products –

First up is the gorgeous Silk Pearl Illuminating Bronzer in 01 Radiating Honey, £14.90.

This is easily the stand out product of the collection – this beautiful bronzer contains three shades, which can be used alone to bronze, highlight and illuminate the complexion, or mixed together to give a gorgeous glow. This product gives a soft focus finish, perfecting the complexion like a beauty balm, yet it brushes on easily like a powder.

The colours are light enough to work well on my fair skin, and will also suit medium skin tones. I love how this bronzer gives my skin a natural light tan – I’m usually very pale so this gives my complexion a welcome dose of colour!

I should also mention the packaging. Like nothing I’ve ever seen before, this bronzer arrives housed in a midnight blue shimmery sphere. Though it looks pretty awesome, this is not a product you’d be able to just throw in your makeup bag, as it takes up quite a lot of space!

Next we have another ‘spherical’ compact product – the Cream Radiance Highlighter in 01 Twilight Gold, £10.90.

This highlighter is just beautiful. Again housed in a sparkling sphere – but smaller than the bronzer – the formula of this product contains micronized pigments and precious pearls for a radiant and smooth finish that really does last for hours.

The texture of this product is quite unusual, it’s kind of a fusion of a gel and a cream. It’s really soft to touch, and when applied, it transforms into a powder that’s a dream to work with.

Next is the Shape and Shimmer Eyebrow and Highlighter Pencil in 02 Auburn and Redheads, £8.90.

Admittedly I could have done with the darker shade here, as the pencil is slightly on the warm side for my colouring, but it’s a fab little multi-use product, that’s perfect for filling in and shaping brows, as well as highlighting the brow bone – or anywhere else you’d like a bit more precision with highlighting.

The brow end has a fine tip and gives a natural matte finish, the formula is also wax based so it helps to sculpt the brows as well as being long-wearing. The highlighter is the perfect size for highlighting smaller areas of the face, such as the brow bone, cupids bow and the nose, and this shade is a lovely warm champagne which is just beautiful.

Next is the Dark Tide Eyeliner in 06 Black, £7.90.

You know I’m a big eyeliner fan, and Kiko eyeliners are fantastic value for money. The Dark Tide Eyeliner in 06 Black is an intense black shade, perfect for creating a waterproof cat eye flick. There are also five other shades in this eyeliner collection, each a deep dark shade with a hint of colour. There’s also a really handy sharpener built into the end of the pencil too.

And lastly the Matte Muse Liquid Lipstick in 03 Enthrall Pink, £6.90.

This is a wonderfully creamy liquid lipstick that dries to a stay-put matte finish. Enthrall Pink is a pretty bright coral pink shade, and there are five other shades of pink, rose, red and burgundy in this collection.

As with all matte lipsticks, the liquid formula dries to a velvety matte finish, that’s completely non transferrable and lasts for hours upon hours before re-application is needed. I also want to point out the slightly odd shaped applicator, I wasn’t sure what to make of this at first! It actually does a good job of evenly applying the product – those who use liquid lipsticks will know that application can be a tricky business!

So there we have it. What a fantastic collection! If you haven’t tried Kiko cosmetics before I highly recommend you take a look at their site. They also currently have an offer on where you can get a free Matte Muse Lipstick when you purchase three other items from the Midnight Siren collection!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Makeup Revolution Ultra Professional Contour Palette

Posted on August 4, 2015

Hi Guys!

I know it’s been a while, but one of my favourite budget brands is back on the blog today with one of their latest brand new products! Makeup Revolution have been pumping out products left right and centre for quite a while now, then more recently all of a sudden they went pretty quiet. So it was fantastic to have a brand new product land on my doorstep last week (and I’ve actually had another one arrive yesterday) so they’re definitely back in the game again!

The Ultra Contour Palette is Makeup Revolution’s complete contouring and highlighting palette solution. It includes eight brand new shades promising perfect contouring and sculpting, whilst including two gorgeous baked highlighters for illumination.

Instantly, this palette reminds me of the Blush Contour Palette in Golden Sugar – which obviously has more blush shades, but the very left top and bottom highlighters appear to be the same ones in the Ultra Contour Palette. I’ve checked the description and it definitely says ‘8 new shades’ in the Ultra Contour Palette though… hmmm!

Ok so let’s take a look at the palette. It includes eight pans, four of which are lighter, highlight shades, three are darker, contour shades, and there’s one shade that’s a bit of an anomaly – is it a contour? Is it a highlighter? A bronzer?? From the swatches that you’ll see below, I think this could either be used as a light bronzer, or a highlighter depending on your skin tone.

The first two highlighter shades are a pale peachy pink, and a pale muted yellow, and both have a matte finish. The next pan is a very similar pale pink to the first, but this one also gives a lovely soft luminous sheen, and lastly the baked highlight on the top far right, this is a beautiful silver colour with gold veins running through.

The bottom row contains three matte contour shades, the first and the third shade are very similar, and the second shade is slightly lighter – which is perfect for me! The last pan is another gorgeous luminous shade, this is just the right shade for a flush of colour on my pale skin 🙂

I just wanted to include a close up of the far right two pans, because they’re so pretty! Above is the silver highlight and below is the luminous bronzer / highlight.

And let’s take a look at some swatches!

Because I’m super pale, unfortunately you can’t see the first two highlighter shades too well on my arm. Personally, I prefer the last two, luminous highlighter shades just because they actually show up on my skin! The first two matte shades could still work really well on darker skin tones if you’re looking to highlight without shimmer.

And here are the contour shades. I found the second shade best for me when it comes to contouring as this was slightly lighter and cooler than the other two matte shades and definitely suited me more. I think the darker shades could work really well on the right skin tones, whereas others may find them to be a bit too reddy. Overall though, this is a fantastic little palette, all the shades are finely milled and have an almost buttery soft texture that is lovely to work with and apply, it’s a complete bargain at only £8.00!

The Ultra Contour Palette is available now at .

I’d love to hear what your favourite contour products are? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Kiko Cosmetics Haul!

Posted on July 3, 2015

Hi Guys!

If you saw my post about Cambridge the other day, you many have picked up on my excitement about all the fantastic shops I discovered there! When we walked into The Grand Aracde shopping centre, the first shop I noticed was Kiko – and there was a massive sign out the front advertising 30% off certain ranges too – I was like a kid in a candy shop! I sent my other half off with my little boy to ‘go and do something for a while’ while I ventured in…

Funnily enough, I was only in the store about 10 minutes (I realised this after noticing my ‘Hey look I’m at Kiko’ and ‘Ooh Kiko purchases’ posts were only 10 mins or so apart) In this short time I managed to pick up a whole bunch of amazing looking products. I knew if I stayed in there any longer I’d have bought the whole shop!

I’ve only fairly recently actually started using Kiko products, if you get a moment please do check out my posts – Miami Beach Babe Collection and Modern Tribes Collection. In both posts you’ll see I was so impressed with the quality of Kiko’s products, I haven’t had a bad word to say about anything I’ve tried so far.

As I completely fell in love with the blusher from the Modern Tribes collection, and said in the post that I wanted to grab the bronzer too, I purchased The Essential Bronzer in the lighter shade of the two, 200 Warm Melange. It was in the sale at £12.50 down from £17.90, so a complete bargain in my eyes! I love that this bronzer is massive, so you get really get stuck in with a large brush – this is perfect to use all over your body for a summer bronzed look. (On a side note I was a bit disappointed to find somebody had already swatched my bronzer when I got it home, hence the smudged section on the top)

I also spotted a beautiful looking eyeshadow quad in 100 Color Fever, this was £9.70 down from£13.90, so again another great bargain. I’ve only just realised that I always go for the same sort of shades when I choose small palettes like this, I always seem to be attracted to brown and mauve toned neutral shades, so I actually have a few other palettes that are similar to this. This palette includes four beautiful shades – a light warm shimmery beige, an iridescent light pink / grey shade which I’m having trouble describing! A warm golden brown shimmer and a deep aubergine purple shimmer with tiny blue and purple sparkles. I love that these eyeshadow quads have large squaure pans, so you get quite a lot of product, and the formula is a dream to work with, I’m definitely in love with this palette!

I also had a little go with their Full Coverage Cream Concealer in the store on the back of my hand, I thought I’d pick this up too and see how it compares to my current under-eye-bag-cover-up favourite Seventeen Phroarr Paint. I chose number 02 to suit my fair skin, and this gives a really nice full coverage matte finish. I’ve started using it under my eyes and it’s doing a great job. I’ll be writing up a concealer comparison post shortly!

And now on to the lip products! You know I’m a big nude lip fan, so I picked up the Luscious Cream Lipstick in 510, which is a light nude beige and the Crystal Sheer Lipstick in 403, which is a mid-toned muted mauve. These lipsticks were a very reasonable £6.90 each without any discount, which is amazingly cheap really considering the quality of the packaging and the formula of the products. Both finishes were creamy and comfortable on the lips, the Luscious Cream lipstick had longer staying power which was to be expected, but I really love both of them, and the shades are just beautiful if you’re a fan of a natural, nude lip look.

And lastly, I also grabbed a Super Gloss in 112, which is a high-shine light pinky beige with gold and silver micro glitter particles. This was a complete bargain at only £4.90 without any discount. Again this is another fab product, it’s not sticky on the lips and looks great on it’s own or worn on top of a lipstick. I think I’ll be wearing this out for my friends’ hen party this weekend!

If any of these gorgeous products have tempted you, Kiko’s 30% off sale is still on instore and online, so if you’re thinking of trying out some Kiko products, now’s the time to grab a bargain!

I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Clarins Limited Edition Aquatic Treasures Collection

Posted on April 30, 2015

Hi Guys!

May is almost upon us and already summer beauty collections are starting to hit the shelves! I think summer collections are my favourite, they’re all about sun-kissed skin, nude lips and dazzling eyes – just what I love! And Clarins’ latest offering is no exception. The Limited Edition Aquatic Treasures Collection has just launched and the products are beautiful. I have the Bronzing Compact, Individual Eyeshadows and the Radiance Boosting Complexion Base to share with you today.

I’m going to start off with my favourite product, the Limited Edition Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact (£30)

Easily the star of the collection, this beautiful bronzer comes embossed with a marine inspired motif to suit the theme of the collection, and I just don’t want to use it and ruin it! Seriously though does anyone else this a problem with pretty limited edition products like this? I also have a MAC ombre blush from the Proenza Schouler collection that I can’t bare to touch!

Eventually though, I did manage to use and also swatch the bronzer for you below – you can see it contains four warm brown shades ranging from beige to terracotta, the lightest of which should suit even fairer skin tones. I’m super fair and found running my brush over the two lighter shades worked well for me. I love that you can customise your bronzing with this palette to suit your skin tone and your needs. You could also use if for sculpting as all four shades have a matte finish, and the lighter shades could also work well as a blush on the right complexion.

This compact also contains Clarins’ Anti- Pollution Complex and Light Optimizing Complex which minimises lines and imperfections, helps keep the skin moisturised and supple and protects it from the harmful effects of free radicals and pollution. As well as looking beautiful, I love that this palette is actually good for your skin!

Next are the Limited Edition Ombre Iridescente Eyeshadows (£19)

This is my first experience of Clarins’ eyeshadows and I don’t think I’ll ever look back! Shades 01 Aquatic Rose and 03 Aquatic Grey have been added to the Aquatic Treasures Collection at they are just stunning. I couldn’t grasp the formula at first – is it a powder? is it a cream?? (FYI it’s actually a cream-to-powder formula) It’s the most velvety soft eyeshadow I think I’ve ever had the pleasure of using, and surprisingly pigmented too. I only needed the tiniest amount of product for the above swatches, so it’s safe to say these little pots will last you a long time!

Aquatic Rose is a beautiful high shimmer rose gold shade, it would look stunning on tanned skin (which mine isn’t – yet!) and you literally just swipe it across the lids with a finger and you’re done! Aquatic Grey may be slightly harder to wear just because it’s a darker shade, the high shimmer finish is very forgiving though, so if you’re looking to experiment with a summery smokey eye, I highly recommend you try this shade out.

And lastly the Limited Edition Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in 04 Apricot (£26)

Clarins have added two new shades to their current range of Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Bases from this collection – which are 04 Apricot and 05 Golden Bronze. The original three shades were made to target specific concerns – Rose (brightens all complexions), Champagne (corrects redness) and Peach (restores lustre to medium and matte skin) whereas the two newer shades are more about creating a healthy sun kissed glow, whilst evening out the complexion.

My instant thought was ‘oh no, this shade is way too dark for me’ but this actually works fantastically well mixed in with your normal foundation to give your complexion a bit of a radiance boost. My skin can often be quite dull and sallow so I’m totally up for any product that’s going to make me look a bit more alive and healthy. This Complexion Base does just that. I also like to fake tan in the summer so I’ll be able to use it on it’s own to help eliminate imperfections and give my skin a flawless finish.

I think the Complexion Base will be a staple in my makeup bag this summer, it has a creamy consistency but feels light on the skin and when used on it’s own it absorbs really quickly rather than sitting on the skin and feeling heavy like a foundation can do. This product also contains the new High-Lumitec Complex which brightens the complexion and optically corrects imperfections, and the Anti-Pollution Complex to keep skin protected, whilst still maintaining luminosity. I may just have to snap up a couple of the other Complexion Bases too!

This really is a stunning collection, but don’t forget it is limited edition, so if you’re thinking about making a purchase, do it sooner rather than later or you may miss out!

The Aquatic Treasures Collection is available now from .

I’d love to hear what you think of this collection? I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Fragrance Direct Beauty Haul!

Posted on March 31, 2015

Hi Guys!

After a not so great start to the week yesterday, the lovely guys at  have sent me an awesome box of products to play with, this is just what I needed! I had no idea what to expect so I was beyond happy when I opened up the parcel to find a massive bundle of products from some fantastic brands, including Bobbi Brown, Benefit and OPI. It felt like Christmas opening it up! Here’s what I received –

  • Loreal Extra Volume Collagene Mascara (£4.99)
  • Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks in Powder Pink (£17.50)
  • Calvin Klein Creme Lipstick in Eros (£1.99)
  • Benefit Fake Up in 01 Light (£12.99)
  • OPI Nail Polish in A Roll In The Hague (£3.99)
  • OPI Nail Polish in Baring It All (£3.99)
  • Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in Buff (£16.00)
  • Calvin Klein Bronzing Powder in Enhance (£2.99)
  • Calvin Klein Creme Lipstick in Desire (£1.99)
  • Calvin Klein Bronzing Powder in Sun Bathe (£2.99)

If you look at the prices you’ll see that all of the products are cheaper than you’d expect, and some are really heavily discounted. I won’t be covering everything today as there’s just too much and this post will take forever to read through, so I thought I’d talk about a brand that I haven’t tried before – Calvin Klein Cosmetics.

Now to be honest Calvin Klein aren’t really known for their cosmetics, fragrances definitely but makeup, not so much. My first experience of Calvin Klein was when my boyfriend at the time bought a 16 year old me a bottle of Eternity for Christmas that year. That scent brings back good memories!

It’s quite obvious that some of the best bargains in my stash here easily have to be the Calvin Klein products. £2.99 for a bronzer that should be £17.99 and £1.99 for a £13.50 lipstick – talk about cheap as chips! I’ve looked online to try and find some more info out about CK cosmetics, but I think this range is possibly slightly older? As I can only find CK One cosmetics available.

The Calvin Klein Summer Affair Bronzing Powder is a micro fine bronzing powder that comes in three shades, promising a radiant complexion without exposure to the sun.

I have two shades of this bronzer, the darker one is Sun Bathe and the lighter shade is Enhance. They both have a hint of sparkle and I love that the pans are massive – perfect for getting a big bronzing brush in there! The lighter shade is definitely the one for me, and I think these would look great buffed all over the body for a night out!

The Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Cream Lipsticks are described as luxurious, ultra conditioning and give lips a smooth matte finish, and they have a non-feathering formula that protects and hydrates.

I have shades Eros 142 and Desire 149. Admittedly I wasn’t overly keen when I saw the lipsticks before trying them out, but when I swatched them I was instantly impressed with the creamy consistency which gave a semi-matte finish, and the pigmentation was excellent too. These are two lovely shades, Eros especially being a bright red / orange is perfect for Spring. I definitely want to look into stocking up on some more colours! I also swatched the Bobbi Brown lip gloss while I was checking the products out – I’ll have this reviewed along with some more of the products on a separate post very soon.

I’d love to hear if you’ve tried Calvin Klein makeup before? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

My First Experience of Milani Cosmetics

Posted on February 2, 2015

Hi Guys!

Just take a look at these ridiculously gorgeous products from Milani Cosmetics! How pretty are they!? Milani has been on my radar for a while, but you don’t really hear too much about them this side of the pond, and apart from the word on the street being that their baked cosmetics are a great dupes for MAC’s MSF’s, they don’t really have any hyped up, must have products either – that I know of anyway!

So I was recently given the chance to try some Milani products out, and completely jumped at the opportunity so I could see for myself what they’re all about. I went for a baked bronzer, blush and eyeshadow, and a pretty powder blush.

There’s no denying that the Powder Blush in 01 Romantic Rose is the prettiest of the bunch. This stunning 3D rose pressed powder, I’ve found out, was originally a limited edition but has now been added to the permanent line due to high demand. There’s no denying this is a beautiful looking product – it also comes in three shades, it’s well pigmented and really does give amazing colour payoff.

Romantic Rose is such a pretty, easy to wear shade, and it’s also worth mentioning this is a pretty big product too, you’re getting a massive 17g of blush here so it’s going to last you forever.

The Baked Blusher in 05 Luminoso, though not as pretty as the powder blush, is just the most beautiful summery shade of peachy coral. Luminoso, true to it’s name, really does give a luminous glow and brightens the complexion. It’s one of those fantastically versatile shades that suits my fair skin, but I think would look equally as good on darker skin tones. Luminoso is just a super pretty, flattering shade that gives a sheer wash of colour to enhance and warm up the complexion. I’m so glad I picked this shade, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this!

And I almost forgot to say, you can open the compact up to reveal a super handy brush and interior mirror too!

Milani’s Baked Eyeshadow in 01 Bella Ivory also has a fantastic luminescence to it. The pan is shaped with a slight indent in the middle and an all over printed pattern which really looks beautiful when it catches the light. Bella Ivory is a pretty, easy to wear warm toned white shade with a slight sheen, and it has a lovely soft texture that’s easy to work with and blend.

And lastly the Baked Bronzer in 06 Golden, though beautiful again, I instantly thought this shade would be too dark for me! You can see this is a lovely chocolate brown colour with gold flecks throughout, and everything about it reminds me of MAC’s MSF’s – from the size of the compact to the look of the product. These Baked Bronzers also come in three shades – Glow, Soleil and Golden and although Golden does look super dark, it’s actually quite a lovely shade, and worn very sparingly, I think even lighter skin tones could pull this off.

Like MAC’s MSF’s these bronzers have a lovely sparkle and shimmer, which gives the face a healthy dose of golden glow. The Baked Bronzers also come in the same style compact as the blushers – opening up to reveal a mirror and brush underneath which I love as you can just throw them in your bag and go!

All of these products are fantastic value for money at £6.99 or less, and considering the whole range of Milani Cosmetics come in at under £8.00 at , I’m so impressed with everything I’ve been trying out. I think the Baked Blusher has to be my favourite out of everything, but I’m also keen to get my hands on the lighter shades of Baked Bronzer too!

Have you tried Milani Cosmetics before? I’d love to hear if you have any recommendations and I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx
