Hi Guys!

I’ve got a pretty exciting beauty box on the blog for you today! This is Latest in Beauty’s most recent collaboration with Capital FM – The Best Of Summer #Capitalbeautybox. This box is £17.95 and contains a massive bundle of products to help you look amazing this sumer!

Let’s take a look in the box –

  • MUA Mega Volume Mascara (7ml) worth £3.00
  • Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection Ultra Radiance Sun Lotion (100ml) worth £5.99
  • Malin + Goetz Travel Skincare Mini Set worth £10
  • Carmex Moisture Plus Lip Balm in Berry (full size) worth £4.50
  • MUA Poptastic Eyeshadow Palette (full size) worth £4.00
  • Fudge Urban Hair Art (full size) worth £5.99
  • Dr Organic Dead Sea Minerals Bio-Plasma Mud Mask (100ml) worth £7.99
  • Nails Inc Gel Effect Nail Polish (8ml) worth £10

  • I Love… Perfectly Peachy Bath & Shower Cream (10ml) worth £1.00

Total value = £54.97

capital-fm-beauty-box

Ok so I’m going to start with the Nails Inc polish, as this really caught my eye! The shade Soho Place is just beautiful – I love greens and blues on my nails so this definitely gets a thumbs up from me! It also has a gel effect finish so it gives a super shiny, ‘salon’ finish to your nails which I love.

The Dr Organic Bioactive Skincare Organic Dead Sea Mineral Bio-Plasma Mud Mask (what a mouthful) caught my eye next, because I’m a big fan of masks and I haven’t heard of this brand before. This is a detoxifying mask that penetrates deep into the skin to remove excess oil and impurities whilst stimulating new cell regeneration. I’ve just tried this mask and my skin is now feeling super clean and fresh!

Next is the Malin & Goetz mini set, which includes their Grapefruit Face Cleanser (10ml), Vitamin E Face Moisturiser (10ml) and Lip Moisturiser (5ml) I haven’t had a chance to try the face products out yet, but I can tell you the cleanser smells lovely! The Lip Moisturiser though, I absolutely love! I’m forever getting dry lips and I pretty much have lip balms coming out of my ears after collecting so many of them. I’ve only used this Lip Moisturiser a couple of times so far but I can confidently say it’s one of my all time favourites already – possibly my actual favourite! Seriously, if you suffer with dry lips, you need this product. Also, a full sized Lip Moisturiser is only £10 from Space NK – take a look and you may notice everyone that’s left a review has given this product 5 stars!

On the subject of lip balms, there’s also a rather nice Carmex Moisture Plus Tinted Lip Balm in the box, this is handy if you like a hint of colour but aren’t keen on a full on lipstick. This will definitely be added to my makeup bag!

Next up is the Co Lab Dry Shampoo in Paris. This apparently has a ‘floral fragrance’ – I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s something really quite masculine about this scent, it smells like a man’s deodorant to me! If the fragrance doesn’t deter you, the mini 50ml bottle is the perfect size to throw in your handbag.

Keeping with the theme of hair, there’s also a new Fudge Urban Spray In Hair Colour in Violet Haze in the box. This is the spray in / wash out type of hair colour, so it won’t permanently dye your hair. I’ve just sprayed this in my husbands dark brown hair, and he has a nice lilac streak now! 😀

The Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection SPF30 Sun Lotion is another fantastic product – the cream sinks into the skin leaving no residue, and the best bit? It smells like HOLIDAY! This is seriously one of the best smelling sun lotions I’ve ever tried. I’ll be dreaming of tropical climes tonight after inhaling this!

And lastly the MUA products, considering they’re cheap as chips, they’re actually not too bad at all! The eyeshadow palette contains some pretty bright colours so it won’t be to everyone’s taste, but it’s a great and inexpensive way to start dabbling with colour, and the Mega Volume Mascara again wasn’t too bad, it didn’t give my stumpy lashes the best volume ever, but it could have been a lot worse.

Ok so over all this really is a pretty awesome box! I’m so impressed with the range and quality of the contents, at only £17.95 it’s is a complete bargain! Grab one now while you can!

You can purchase this box now from Latest In Beauty. I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Cohorted June Beauty Box | Review

cohorted-june-box-review

Hi Guys!

Well June’s Cohorted box has just landed, and as expected it’s another one jam packed with fantastic products. Here’s what’s included in this month’s box –

  • Cargo Cosmetics Let’s Meet in Paris Eyeshadow Palette – Full size worth £35.00
  • Cargo Cosmetics Bronzer in Light – Full size worth £20.00
  • Essie Summer 2014 Collection nail polish in 321 Roarrrange – 5ml worth £5.00
  • (Surprise product) MAC Eyeshadow in Shroom – Full size worth £13.00

Total value = £73.00

cohotred-june-review

Cohorted, you really are spoiling us with these gorgeous Cargo palettes!! This is the second full size 12 pan palette they’ve included in their boxes – each worth a massive £35.00, and I haven’t had a chance to review the first one yet! (You can see it in last month’s box here)

Ok so the Let’s Meet in Paris palette comes in a lovely printed fabric covered case, it has a handy interior mirror and contains twelve stunning shimmer shadows. And these. Are. Stunning. They’ve included a couple of gorgeous golds, nudes and greys, as well as a jewel tone deep green and purple. All shades are really wearable and perfect to create a smoky eye. I WILL be doing full reviews (and hopefully looks) with both palettes in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eye out!

Also, Cohorted have included the Cargo Powder Bronzer in Light. This comes packaged in a decent sized tin with a screw on lid – it kind of reminds me of the type of tin Steam Cream comes in. This is a lovely light shade of warm toned bronzer, with a slight hint of shimmer. It’s perfect for warming up lighter complexions but can also be built up if you have a darker skin tone.

The Essie polish in 321 Roarrrange is a really nice bright orange shade. It’s not neon in any way but it’s definitely an intense orange – the sort of shade that would look great with a tan! Also, I actually don’t mind that it’s s small 5ml bottle, I have SO many nail polishes that I’ve only used once, I don’t think I’ve ever actually used a nail polish up, so receiving a smaller bottle isn’t a problem at all.

And lastly Cohorted have included a mystery gift in every box. From looking on Twitter this appears to have been either a Sleek Contour Kit or MAC Eyeshadow. I already have the Contour Kit so I’m really glad I got this eyeshadow! Shroom is a really nice soft beige satin shade with a slight shimmer. It’s perfect for an all over base and I know I’ll definitely get a lot of use out of it.

Well done to Cohorted for bringing out another fantastic box! I think Cohorted’s monthly boxes are easily my favourite out of all the beauty boxes I’ve tried. They always include fantastic quality and high end brands, with mostly full size products. Keep up the good work guys!

I hope you enjoyed my post xx

Cohorted May Beauty Box | Review

Posted on May 11, 2015

cohorted-may-beauty-box-review

Hi Guys!

My May Cohorted Beauty Box has literally just arrived, and I’m so excited I had to get everything photographed straight away so I could share it with you! This box is easily the best beauty box I’ve ever had, it contains four high end products, and I love them all!

  • Cargo Cosmetics Vintage Escape Eyeshadow Palette – Full size worth £35.00
  • Michael Kors Lip Lacquer in Dame – Full size worth £23.50
  • Dolce & Gabbana Lace Nail Lacquer in Perfection 220 – Full size worth £19.00
  • Too Faced Eyeshadow in Enchanted Garden – Full sized worth £15.00

Total value – £92.50.

Just WOW. I can’t get over how amazing this box is! For £19.99 this really is the bargain of the century! I’ve decided I’m not going to review the products individually right now, instead I’ll just give you an overview of each of them –

The Cargo Cosmetics Vintage Escape Eyeshadow Palette is easily the stand out product here, I’ve been wanting to try Cargo for a while so I was over the moon to find this in the box. It comes packaged in an unusual faux leather casing, with a magnetic closure and an internal mirror. This palette contains a selection of neutral shimmer and matte eyeshadows, and the shade selection is just beautiful. The 12 shades include smokey nudes, browns and charcoals in a range of light through to very dark colours. There’s no shades too bright or out there in this palette, so this would be perfect for natural day-to-night eye looks. I definitely want to dedicate a post to reviewing this palette properly so look out for it coming up shortly!

The Michael Kors Lip Lacquer lipstick is also beautiful, it comes in a metallic gold case, with the Michael Kors logo embossed in the lipstick bullet. This really is a beautiful luxury product. The shade Dame is also right up my street. It’s a lovely deep berry red, with tiny flecks of glitter – perfect for a statement lip.

The Dolce & Gabbana Lace Nail Lacquer looks to be the perfect nude shade. Perfection 220 is a light creamy beige. It looks fairly thick and opaque but I’ll have to try it out before I can let you know my final verdict. The packaging is of course beautiful, with Dolce & Gabbana’s logo in metallic gold over a lace printed lid.

And lastly the Too Faced Exotic Colour Eyeshadow. You may remember one of these in March’s box. This shade is Enchanted Garden, a high shimmer coffee brown shade. Again this looks beautiful, and it’s a completely universal colour so it’ll definitely suit all skin tones. If the formula is anything like  Copper Peony from March’s box, I know I’m going to love it.

Cohorted really have pushed the boat out with this box, I’m still stunned by the amazing brands and products that they’ve included. I will be reviewing everything separately over the coming weeks so please keep an eye out!

You can check out Cohorted’s previous boxes here – AprilMarch and February.

Did you sign up for May’s box? I’d love to hear what you think!

I hope you enjoyed my review xxx

Cohorted April Beauty Box | Review

Posted on April 13, 2015

cohorted-april-beauty-box-review

Hi Guys!

April’s Cohorted box has finally arrived, and oh it’s a good one! This months box contains a great range of products from some fabulous high end brands including Bare Minerals, MAC, ARK Skincare and Korres. So let’s take a look what’s in the box…

  • bare Minerals Heavenly Face Brush – worth £22
  • MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Dolly Mix – worth £18
  • ARK Skincare Age Prepare Purifying Masque – worth £10
  • Korres Body Butter in Mulberry Vanilla – worth £19.50

The total value is £69.50, pretty good hey!

cohorted-beauty-box-april

I’d just like to point out that these boxes are only £19.99 each, so this one alone contains over three times that in the value of products!

I’m a big fan of bare Minerals cosmetics and I’m currently loving their Mineral Veil powder, so I was really happy to find one of their brushes included in this months box. The Heavenly Face Brush has soft densely packed bristles with a blunt cut head, so it’s perfect for buffing foundation into the skin for an even complexion.

I was a little surprised but over the moon to discover an actual MAC product too! I mean wow! I don’t own many MAC blushes so this blush in Dolly Mix is a welcome addition to my collection. It’s a medium pink shade with a Sheertone Shimmer finish, so it can be worn sheerly for a hint of colour, or easily built up for a more intense look. I think Dolly Mix will suit most complexions too.

And look, an ARK skincare product! You may have noticed I’m using their Age Maintain range at the moment, and my skin is just loving their products – I’ll have an update on how I’m getting on with them on the blog tomorrow so be sure to check that out. The Skin Purifying Masque is from the Age Prepare range which is aimed at teens to those in their oily 30’s, it’s perfect for oily and congested skin, helping to absorb oil and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and diminishes blemishes.

And lastly the Korres Mulberry Vanilla body butter, it actually smells good enough to eat! This comes in a massive 235ml tube so will last for a very long time. It has an extra nourishing formula, and it’s aimed at those with dry skin so I think I’m going to love this.

Overall I’m really happy with this box, I definitely think it’s one of the best yet. I would say my only criticism would be the Korres product though. I do actually really like the look of it but I think Korres products seem to pop up quite a lot in beauty boxes so I’d rather see a different brand in future if I had the choice. That’s my only criticism though! Let’s hope Cohorted will continue to surprise us with more fantastic brands moving forward! You can pre-order May’s box on the 15th (the pre order date is always the 15th of the month for the next month which might be worth noting) If you are interested in May’s box I’d make sure to get in there quick, every month these boxes sell out pretty much instantly.

I’d love to hear what you think of this box? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Glossybox March | Review

Posted on March 19, 2015

glossybox-march-review

Hi Guys!

I feel a bit like I’ve got beauty boxes coming out of my ears at the moment! The latest Glossybox has just arrived and it’s a really good one! With six full size and generous sample sized items covering hair, skincare and makeup, March’s box is looking like one of the best yet…

So what’s inside the box?

  • Naobay Moisturising Peeling, 100ml worth £13.71.
  • Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara, full size worth £3.30.
  • Dove Advanced Hair Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner, 50ml each worth £1.20 each.
  • ncLA Nail Lacquer in I Only Fly Private, full size worth £10.83.
  • Sleek Makeup Pout Paint in Port, full size worth £4.99.

Total value = £35.23.

Ok so it’s not the highest value, but on first glance this isn’t a bad little box at all! I’ll start with the Naobay Moisturising Peeling. This is the strangest product name, surely it should say … Mask or Cream or something at the end!? Anyway, this is in fact an ‘organic peeling milk’ which includes particles from the acai tree to remove dulling dead skin cells and brighten the complexion. This sounds exactly what my skin needs right now, since I’ve been ill my skin has just become so lifeless and dull I’ll soon be resembling a corpse, so fingers crossed this will work! (review to come)

Next is the Essence Mascara. I’ve heard of Essence before and understand it’s a budget brand that’s available in Wilko. I’m not based near a store so haven’t had a chance to try out their products before. I have to say the Lash Princess Mascara does look kinda cheap – well it is only £3.30! And the makeup snob in me is telling me it’s not going to be much cop, but I’ve been wearing the mascara for a few hours now and it’s actually not that bad. It’s not as lengthening on my short lashes as I’d like but it’s ok if you’re looking for volume rather than length.

Moving on we have the Dove Advanced Hair Youthful Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner. I haven’t used Dove hair products for years, so I’m welcoming the re-introduction to the brand. These products are specifically aimed at ageing hair (I’m coming up 31, does that count??) They’re supposed to repair brittle hair and replenish lost nutrients to leave hair looking ‘twice as thick’ These are bold words, Dove! I have super fine hair so I’ll be trying these out in the coming weeks – this is another one I’ll have to report back on!

The ncLA Nail Lacquer is up next, and I personally do not find this product visual appealing. The bottle looks very cheap – but it’s in fact $16! I do like the colour of the polish, as you know I’m all about the brights! ncLA is a US based company that sells nail products only, so you’d think that as this is their specialism then the products should be pretty decent, and it actually is. You just need two coats for full opaque coverage, I can’t comment on the longevity yet but so far so good!

And lastly the Sleek Pout Paint. I’m already a big fan of Sleek cosmetics and I’ve previously reviewed their Pout Paint in Pinkini. The pigmentation is fanastic, but I do find the Pout Paints seep into the fine lines at the edges of my lips – you’ll see what I mean if you look at the Pinkini review. I think you’re good to go with this product as long as you use a decent lip liner with it 🙂

Overall this is a really good box, considering it’s only £10 to buy! I’d love to hear your thoughts? xxx

Cohorted March Beauty Box | Review

Posted on March 14, 2015

cohorted-march-beauty-box

Hi Guys!

It doesn’t seem like two minutes ago I was sharing the exciting news about Cohorted’s brand new beauty boxes, and here we are with their second offering! Unfortunately for some, all 300 of March’s boxes sold out in the blink of an eye so this one isn’t available for purchase any more (April’s will be shortly available though – details at the end of this post). Anyway the box arrived with me this morning and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in! There are some fantastic brands in this months’ box, and this is what I received…

  • Too Faced Exotic Color Eye Shadow in Copper Peony – worth £15.00
  • Sleek Precious Metals Highlighter Palette – worth £9.99
  • Bare Minerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment – worth £45.00
  • Urban Decay Perversion Mascara – sample size worth £5.00

The total value is £74.99 – wow!

I should also mention that the lovely peeps at Cohorted have hidden a Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Eye shadow Palette in five of March’s Beauty Boxes. Let me know if you’re a lucky winner! Last month they included an Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in five boxes, so I really hope this is going to be a regular monthly occurrence!

I’m super impressed with the products in this box, I already have the Sleek palette already, but a girl can never have enough palettes, right? This box contains some of my favourite ever brands, so let’s take a look at the products –

too-faced-copper-peony-eyeshadow-review too-faced-copper-peony-eyeshadow-swatch

Ok so I’ll admit, I’ve been so enamoured with Too Faced’s amazing palettes, I’d never really looked into their other eye products, such as their single eyeshadows. From looking at the Too Faced site I can see the Exotic Color shadows come in twelve different shades – but everyone will receive the same one in their Cohorted box. Copper Peony is a beautiful high shimmer copper shade, and I’m completely in love with this colour. It’s just so pretty, summery and will suit pretty much everyone. The formula is spot on too – as expected from Too Faced. It was so amazingly well pigmented and felt buttery soft to apply. I really love this shadow!

sleek-precious-minerals-palette-review

Next is the Sleek Precious Metals palette, I already have this so rather than repeat myself I’ll just link you to my review here 🙂

bare-minerals-night-treatment-review

The Bare Minerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment is an interesting looking product. I’ve never come across a night treatment that wasn’t a cream, liquid or serum before, and I have to say the idea of putting powder on my face before going to bed feels quite odd! The Pure Transformation Night Treatment is worth a massive £45, and I know price shouldn’t indicate quality, but for that price you’d hope it would work! It’s supposed to transform and replenish your skin whilst you sleep, leaving you looking radiant in the morning. It’s also clinically proven to reduce the appearance of pores and deliver faster cell turnover leaving you with increased luminosity, and it instantly diffuses imperfections so your skin will look miraculously renewed. Now this all sounds rather fabulous, but does it actually work? I’ll start using it tonight so look out for my review in the coming weeks!

urban-decay-perversion-mascara-review

And last’y Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara. I must admit as much as I love Urbad Decay, I was never bothered about trying this product because the Perversion Eyeliner Pencil really disagreed with my eyes. I love UD eyeliner pencils usually, but there was something in Perversion that irritated and made my eyes water like crazy, so the mascara of the same name never appealed to me. I know they’re completely different products but I was still put off! I’ve been wearing the Perversion Mascara for a couple of hours now and I’m happy to say my eyes are fine! I wouldn’t say I’m wowed by it but it’s a good little every day mascara.

This box really is such great value, it’s only £19.99 so to get £74.99 worth of products inside is amazing! Also, Cohorted have increased the size of the box slightly since last month, and added an integrated ribbon so it’s really east to re-use the box for other uses. As I mentioned previously, this box has sold out, but April’s will be available for pre order from 15/03/15 . Make sure you snap one up quickly though as they’ll be sure to sell out super fast again!

Did you purchase one of these boxes? I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

Latest In Beauty: The Glamour Spring Beauty Edit

Posted on March 12, 2015

the-glamour-spring-edit-box-review

Hi Guys!

I’m always curious about beauty boxes, there are so many around at the moment it’s hard to know which are worth purchasing. I’ve reviewed Wantable in the past, and more recently Glossybox and Lookfantasitc, so when Latest In Beauty offered to send me their latest ‘collections’ box, the Glamour Spring Beauty Edit, I snapped up the chance as quickly as I could! I haven’t tried LIB boxes before so I was excited to find out what the Glamour box was all about!

So basically Alessandra Steinherr – Glamour Magazine’s Beauty Director, has chosen nine must-have products for the season to go in this box, worth an amazing £99.00. This box contains an impressive eight full sized and one sample size product covering beauty, hair and nails, as well as a 12 month subscription to the print and digital versions of Glamour magazine – amazing! I have to say it did seem a bit too good to be true, so when I was competing the online form with my details I was kind of waiting for a page to come up asking me for my bank details, but nope! I just entered the code on my voucher and instantly received a confirmation email. Awesome! I’m looking forward to the first issue arriving in my letter box!

Anyway let’s get on to the products, this is what was in my box –

  • Model Co Creme Rouge Cheek & Lips in Just Peachy
  • Nuxe Creme Fraiche De Beaute Mask, 50ml
  • Morocconoil Intense Hydrating Mask, 75ml
  • Beauty UK High Brow Kit
  • Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Lip Gloss in 330 Snog
  • Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 07
  • Elie Saab L’eau Couture, 0.8ml
  • Revlon Colorstay Nail enamel in 320 Full House
  • Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat

An impressive list hey!? There’s a couple of brands here that I haven’t heard of before so I couldn’t wait to get stuck in! So, starting from the top we have the Model Co Creme Rouge – now Model Co I’m sure I’ve heard of, but I haven’t had a chance to try any of their products. The Cheek & Lips in Just Peachy does look slightly intimidating but it actually comes out as a pretty sheer shade which can of course be used on both cheeks or lips, it’s great for a tint of colour.

I’m not going to go into detail about the Nuxe Mask, you know I love it! I think this will be my third tube! Morocconoil is a favourite haircare brand of mine and has been for a while, so I was very happy to find the Intense Hydrating Mask in the box. This gives deep hydration to improve texture, elasticity, shine and manageability, and it’s going straight on my bathroom shelf! Beauty High is another brand I’m not familiar with, I don’t even recognise the name! The Brow Kit contains three brow powders and a clear wax, as well as a brow brush and tweezers. This is a ‘one size fits all’ product and I agree it should suit most complexions – except for very dark. It’s extremely similar to my MUA Brow Kit and gets a big thumbs up from me.

Next is the Rimmel Oh My Gloss Lip Gloss. This is a lovely, every day shade that would suit most skin tones, and it’s not sticky either which is a bonus. I’ve popped this in my makeup bag for when I’m out and about. I was also really excited to find a Kiko product in the box too. I’ve only just started using Kiko cosmetics and I’ve loved what I’ve tried so far, and this Lasting Stick Eyeshadow is definitely no exception. 07 is a gorgeous light champagne gold shade that’s super creamy and easy to apply, and it set really well too. If you have problems with eyeshadow creasing or just wearing off throughout the day, I’d highly recommend you try these sticks.

There’s also a Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in 320 Full House, which is a beautiful bright opaque turquoise colour. I haven’t tried Revlon products for years but I have to say I’m pretty impressed with this polish. It give a gorgeous opaque colour and the Diamond Top Coat leaves a high gloss finish – that should last. I’ll have to report back on that though!

Overall I’m really impressed with this box, it’s a complete bargain for £16.99 from Latest In Beauty and I’d definitely recommend snapping one up!

I’d love to hear what you think of this box? I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx
