Christmas: Beauty Stocking Fillers for All Budgets

Posted on December 13, 2017

Hi Guys!

I’m back! I feel like I’ve been out of the loop for a little while as I’ve been pretty ill. Well I’m now on the mend and I’m finally bringing you the first of my Christmas Gift Guides! (At last!) So my first guide is all about beauty stocking fillers – I’ve tried to include a range of products at differing price points so there should be something for everyone. Enjoy!

Starting with the (£49.00) – This is one of the latest releases from one of my favourite makeup brands – the Too Faced White Chocolate Palette is in fact a full-sized version of their previous mini White Chocolate Chip palette. It includes 16 pastel shades with both matte and shimmery finishes, and the palette also smells just like white chocolate!

For those that love a luxurious bubble bath, the  (£15.00) could be just perfect. Philosophy’s award-winning multi-tasking shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath conditions as it cleanses, leaving skin and hair silky soft and lightly perfumed with an ethereal floral fragrance.

Or how about the (£18.00) – I love Ted Baker gifts, they’re always beautifully packaged and just gorgeous inside and out, and The Sweet Treats Polly Fragrance is a complete steal at only £13.00 for 30ml. Polly is described as a grown-up yet girly addition to any night out, with fruity top notes of mandarin, red berries and peach, a floral heart of white jasmine, honeysuckle and peony, and a warm base of amber and vanilla topped off with white musk.

I also have the gorgeous (£20.00) – This handy little set is the perfect size for a beauty-lover’s stocking. It contains a Luxurious Liquid Liner, to deliver a line of smooth, rich colour that lasts all day, as well as a Supernova Glitter Glam Liner, which is infused with the finest iridescent sparkle, making it the perfect glitter liner for Christmas nights out.

For the liquid lipstick fan, the  (£20.00) would just be perfect. This cute little set contains a trio of mini Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks in three must have shades. There’s Beso, a beautiful true red, Caramello, a light nude beige, and Splendore Shimmer, which is a light mauve with a shimmer finish – this one is a special treat as Stila’s Shimmer Liquid Lipsticks won’t be launching individually until the Spring, so definitely keep an eye out for these!

I also have the very affordable (£12.00) – Another fab beauty trio, this time perfect for highlighting the face. This set includes Barry M’s Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops in Liquid Fortune, an Illuminating Strobe Cream Stick in Galactic, and a Fine Glitter Dust in 28.

On to another favourite brand of mine now. The (£8.50) is definitely worth considering. Sleek have got some really great products out at the moment, and this super cute Pout & Polish Set would make a fantastic stocking filler. It contains a Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit, with a matching matte finish Nail Polish.

And the (£15.50) – Rahua isn’t the most well know brand, but they do offer some fantastic haircare products, and I thought this dinky little hair duo would be a welcome find in any beauty lover’s stocking this Christmas. Ideal for those seeking a full, lustrous mane, Rahua’s The Jet Setter Voluminous Duo combines their Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner in a handy travel sized set.

Another bargain now, the (£7.99) is definitely worth picking up. This sweet little set would make the perfect budget friendly stocking filler, containing three of Maybelline’s famous Baby Lips Lip Balms, in Hydrate, Pink Punch, and Cherry Me, this ticks all the boxes for a top beauty gift.

Or how about the (£22.00) – Pixi is another favourite brand of mine, and this gorgeous Lid Lovelies Eyeshadow Palette contains a gorgeous selection of 18 tones, from light creamy nudes to intense orange and smokey charcoal, there’s enough shades here to take you easily from day to night.

Going a bit more high end now, how about the  (£46.00) – Fenty Beauty should need no introduction by now, and I really think any beauty fan would be thrilled to find one of Rhianna’s beauty products in their stocking on Christmas morning. The Match Stix Trio contains three long-wear makeup sticks, with two Match Stix Matte Skinsticks to conceal and contour, and one Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick to highlight.

Ok so I absolutely had to include the (£20.00) – As soon as I saw the new Kat Von D Glimmer Veils I knew I had to try them – and I definitely wasn’t disappointed! These are honestly the most vivid, sparkly and just amazing liquid lipsticks that I’ve ever seen. I’ll be sharing full reviews on the blog soon, but in the meantime just google swatches and you’ll see what I mean!

I thought I’d also include the fab (£32.00) – This fabulously fun palette contains three colourful highlighters, in shades Seashell: a sparkling lavender, Pearl: a sparkling ivory, and Seafoam: a sparkling blue/green. This is a must have for mermaid fans!

Another brand that alway brings out fun and innovative collections is Kiko. The (£19.90) is definitely wort checking out. You’ll probably know by know that I’m a massive fan of Kiko Cosmetics, and their latest limited edition collection is just perfect for Christmas time. I have a few products from the Arctic Holiday collection, but I wanted to include the All In One Palette here, as it’s a fab, reasonably priced full face and eye palette. It contains two face-sculpting powders, a blush, a highlighter, and 9 eyeshadows.

For nail fans, how about the (£14.50) – This lovely little set contains Jessica’s best-selling intensive cuticle moisturiser Phenomen Oil, which is the perfect treat for dry nails during the winter months, as well as a Custom Colour Nail Polish in Nude Thrills, which is a pretty nude beige with a touch of sparkle.

And lastly, I have the  (£18.00 each) – Zoeva always manage to bring out the most gorgeous palettes, and the Opulence collection is no exception. The eyeshadow palette contains ten vibrant shades in a mixture of polished neutrals and vibrant statement colours, in both matte and metallic finishes. The Blush Palette has also been carefully curated to include everything you need for an uplifting, subtly sculpted cheek look, containing two floral-inspired blushers and a shimmering champagne highlighter.

I hope this has given you some inspiration! I’ll have more gift guides coming up very soon 😀 I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Six Fab Beauty Products That Won’t Break The Bank…

Posted on January 31, 2016

boots-beauty-box

Hi Guys!

I was recently sent over a fantastic box of beauty products that are new in at Boots, and I had no idea what was going to turn up – which was very exciting. So when the box arrived it was great to find a mixture of brands, including one which I’ve never tried, and a couple that I haven’t tried for a good few years too…

Collection-#YourStyleYourMood-Eyeshadow-Palette

First up is the  (£5.99) – Now I haven’t used Collection products in a loooong time, I mean, the last time I remember using them was when they were called Collection 2000 and I was in my teens. So even though I’m not familiar with their current products, I know they’re still a popular budget brand, and they also used to be one of the go-to brands back in the day for teens where I live too!

This dinky little palette comes in a cardboard casing, with matte and shimmer shades. The idea is that whatever your mood the #YourStyleYourMood Palette allows you to create the perfect eye look to reflect your style – I’d say it includes a nice selection of neutral colours that would work well for day time or evening, but there’s nothing in there that’s too outrageous – which I would have expected by the #YourStyleYourMood name. Maybe one or two brighter colours would have been a nice addition?

Loreal-Paris-Super-Liner-Perfect-Slim-eyeliner

loreal-perfect-slim-eyeliner-pen

Next is the  (£6.99) – Now you know I do love a good eyeliner, and my weapon of choice is always a pencil or a pen version, so this is is right up my street. This Perfect Slim liner has a long, flexible nib, with a very fine point. It gives a fantastic intense black line, that’s easy to draw and define due to the long pointed nib. This is a fantastic eyeliner for creating a sharp cat-eye flick.

Eyelure-Party-Lashes-Frozen-Beauty

Next we have the Eyelure Party Lashes in Frozen Beauty (£6.95) – I don’t often wear lashes except for the odd night out (and I don’t get out that often these days!) but when I have worn lashes, Eyelure are my brand of choice. This is just because lashes are expensive, and rather than waste £5+ per set on something that I might not like, I know I can trust Eyelure to do the job.

These Frozen Beauty lashes feature a fluffy and full lash, interspersed with shimmering silver ribbon that catches the light beautifully. I love that Eyelure lashes are easy to apply and remove, and if you’re careful you can re-use them multiple times too.

Barry-M-Flawless-Chisel-Cheeks-Contour-Kit

Up next is the  (£6.49) – I’m so glad this was included in the box! I’ve been meaning to pick up a budget contour kit for ages, just out of curiosity as I always use my Anastasia palette and hadn’t tried any budget versions as yet.

The Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit is a handy little travel-sized palette, including a light powder to highlight, a bronzer to warm, and a dark powder to sculpt for a perfectly enhanced appearance. The shades are not too dark or intense – so perfect for those with paler complexions like myself, and the product can also be built up easily, so it would still work well if you were looking for a bit more depth of colour.

Sleek-Makeup-Precious-Metals-Highlighting-Palette

Next is the  (£9.99) – I love Sleek Cosmetics, they’re one of my favourite, if not my actual favourite budget high street brand. They also keep coming up with gorgeous new products!

The Precious Metals Highlighting Palette is a fantastic versatile highlighting palette for use on both the face and body. It features three velvet cream highlighters and one powder highlighter which can be used in a multitude of ways to give skin a beautiful luminous glow.

These highlighters really do give the loveliest iridescent and metallic finishes, wether you’re looking for detailed highlight on the face, or an all-over body glow, this little kit will have the right highlight for you.

Nail-Apothecary-Gel-Effect-Top-Coat

And lastly, the Nail Apothecary Gel Effect Top Coat (£6.95) – Nail Apothecary is a brand new brand to me, that I hadn’t even heard of. They supply a range of nail care products, including various top coats, fillers and nail treatments. The Gel Effect Top Coat creates a plumping effect on the nails, giving a high shine, gel like look which is long lasting and chip resistant – a definite must have for fans of the DIY manicure!

boots-beauty-box-products

Well, I’m beyond impressed with this fab little selection of products, I haven’t used a couple of these brands for a while now and I’m so glad I’ve re-discovered them. I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of these products?

I hope you enjoyed my post! xxx

The Weirdest Nail Colour Ever??

Posted on August 26, 2014

barry-m-olive-nail-polish

Hi Guys!

Ok so today I have a bit of a weird coloured nail polish to show you. This is the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine polish in Olive 420. I was sent this to review, and my instant thoughts were – it looks like mould  / new baby poo / some sort of fungus, and I wasn’t actually going to review it because of the hideous colour. But I decided to persevere and try it on my actual nails first before passing judgement. Well, the colour is still an odd muted olive green – in some lights it looks grey and in others it looks very green. I want to say if you have the right skin tone you could probably pull this colour off, but I’m not even sure if that’s entirely true, as I can’t imagine this looking good on anyone really! The formula however, is great! I really love the super high shine finish of the Gelly polishes so there’s no complaints there! But this is definitely a marmite type colour, you’ll either love it or hate it. Let me know what you think! xxx

Taste The Rainbow.

Well it’s been pretty cold and miserabe lately, we’ve had snow for Mothers Day here! Luckily it’s now melting and gradually getting warmer. So I thought I’d paint my nails in some nice bright colours to cheer myself up! These colours remind me of childhood, parties, balloons, sweets (Skittles??) and happy times! I can’t wait to get some nail art pens and get creative too! xx
