autumn-accessories-update-2016

Hi Guys!

It’s that time of year again where it’s starting to get cooler, the nights are drawing in and we’re all looking forward to Halloween! Yes Autumn is upon us, and I thought it was about time I did a little accessories update…

carvela-rink-boots

The pièce de résistance of my latest bunch of goodies is without doubt my brand new  by Carvela Comfort at Kurt Geiger. I LOVE Kurt Geiger shoes and boots, and yes I know they can be on the expensive side but they’re well worth it. I’ve pretty much been living in a pair of glittery Carvela flats until they wore out, so now winter is looming, I’ve been on the hunt for some more season-appropriate footwear.

I was so pleased when I came across the Carvela Comfort range – I hadn’t even realised it existed until I started hunting around the site. It basically offers all the fabulous styling of the Carvela brand, whilst making comfort a priority.

carvela-rink-boots-review

The gorgeous Rink Boots just jumped out at me – they’re made of soft black suede, with an awesome gunmetal grey sparkly glitter heel. I love that the heel is quite low (I can’t walk in high heels) making the boots look more dressy whilst still being comfortable.

And just look at this gorgeous scarf from Bianca Elgar! I’m a big fan of oversized scarves and wear them every autumn and winter – but silk scarves are new to me. I feel like this is more sophisticated than other scarves I have, and it feels gorgeous to wear. I can’t wait to pair this with some outfits!

nali-bag-with-stickers

I also treated myself to a new Nali Bag from . When it comes to bags, I like something spacious (to hold all my precious things) and I also like a grab handle as well as a long strap – so you have plenty of options you know! This bag by Nali stood out to me because it pretty much ticked all the boxes for me, and it was also in the sale – bonus!

I then happened to come across some awesome stickers on the Skinnydip site, and thought they’d go perfectly with my new bag! If you’re a fan of customising your clothes and accessories, you can see all Skinnydip’s awesome stickers, badges and pins .

I also picked up this awesome Nope Hannah bag from Skinnydip while I was looking around the site. I love it so much!

pink-cat-pencil-case

And yes I know it’s technically not a fashion accessory, but I had to include my new Paperchase cat pencil case from ! It’s just so cute!

And finally I also picked up this sweet little Primark Necklace when I was last in London. Its rose gold coloured with grey sparkly triangles – and it was only £3.00!

I’d love to hear how you’ve been updating your wardrobe for autumn? I  hope you enjoyed my post xxx

vision-direct-sunglasses

Hi Guys!

When it comes to accessories, sunglasses are definitely up there with bags and shoes for me. I have countless pairs of sunglasses and I pretty much never leave the house without at least one pair on me unless it’s raining!

I’ve teamed up with Vision Direct today show you my gorgeous new sunglasses which they kindly sent over, as well as let you know how quick and easy it is now to choose the best sunglasses for your face shape.

So let’s start by taking a look at my fab new sunnies! 🙂

I have the American Freshman AFS019 Cateye Sunglasses, which are now in the Vision Direct sale for a very reasonable £23.99 – what a bargain! These have a gorgeous wearable cat eye shape, with large style lenses that have a nice subtle gradient to them. The sunglasses also have a fun design on the inside of the arms which is quite unusual.

So how did I choose these? Well my face shape is oval / long so I always go for style such as a cat eye which helps to give width to my face. To find the best sunglasses for your own face shape though, Vision Direct have you covered – just go to they handy  where you start by selecting your face shape, then skin colour and hair colour, and they will show you which sunglasses are best suited to you – easy! It’s also worth mentioning there’s a 20% off discount code included in their sunglasses finder post too, so definitely check it out!

I hope you enjoyed my post, and don’t forget to check out the hashtag #myfaceshapeis on Instagram and Twitter 🙂

5 Things You Could Buy For The Price of a Louboutin Lipstick

Posted on September 2, 2015

louboutin lipsticks

Hi Guys!

If you’re into fancy schmancy, ridiculously beautiful and ahem, expensive beauty products, you’ve probably heard about the much anticipated Christian Louboutin Lipsticks – which have just launched yesterday at .

Following on from Christian Louboutin’s nail polish launch last year, his new lipstick collection includes 36 shades in three unique textures – opulent Silky Satin, luminous Sheer Voile and rich Velvet Matte – all wrapped up in a stunning jewel-like case.

At an eye-watering and purse-clenching price of £60 each, they aren’t cheap by anyone standards… but I still really want one! That said, if you can think of any higher priced lipsticks that aren’t a limited edition, (for research purposes of course) please do let me know! louboutin lipstick packaging Just look at them though… (insert heart eyed emojis here) So, while I’ve been lusting away after these beauties telling myself I DO NOT NEED A £60 LIPSTICK, that I know I won’t actually use as I won’t want to ‘ruin’ it, I’ve been thinking of what other gorgeous goodies could I could pick up for the same price as a Loubie lippie…

ted baker Rhianna Technicolour Bloom Tshirt

This gorgeous  from Ted Baker has recently caught my eye. I love the look and style of Ted Baker clothing, but have never actually bought anything, mostly due to the price but also because they don’t cater for my size now. I love their digital prints, and this floral t-shirt is just so pretty. It’ll definitely be on my post weight-loss wish list!

Daisy Dixon Rose Gold Kate Watch

You know I have a thing about rose gold, well this  from ASOS is also on my wish list. I don’t need another watch – and who actually uses watches these days as anything other than an accessory? Long gone are the days where we would check our wrists to find out the time, watches are more about fashion than function now. So this is definitely not a necessity, but it’s still on my want list none the less.

diptyque la redoute candle

And what about this stunning  from Liberty? If I had the money, I really could manage to spend silly money on candles, but as it stands I’ll stick with my affordable favourites from Yankee and Flamingo! This beauty from Diptyque is just so pretty though, with a striking black and white marbled effect, it would be perfect to accessory for any home. The scent of the candle is spicy and floral, but I must admit, I haven’t actually tried it myself, if you’ve tried this candle and you’d recommend it please do let me know!

marc jacobs daisy dream

I couldn’t complete this list without a perfume, could I? I absolutely love , and this is one of the few fragrances I really love that I don’t actually own.

kate spade cedar street slim bee bag

And lastly, what about this sweet, classic Cedar Street Slim Bee Purse from Kate Spade? I have my eye on most things on the Kate Spade site right now, but this super sweet wallet just ticks all the boxes for me. It’s simple and sophisticated whilst being affordable – what’s not to love?

So I guess the question is, would I rather fork out £60 for a Loubie lippie, or would I rather have one of these lovely things instead. I’m completely undecided! What would you do?

Eight Accessory Ideas To Improve Your Blog Photographs.

Posted on July 15, 2015

Hi Guys!

Since I’m still setting up my new office slash beauty mecca, which was meant to be done ages ago, but you know, life! I really feel like I want to get stuck in and improve every aspect of my blogging. Also now I’ve recently had my blog design revamped, and I’m pretty much blogging full time, I’ve been thinking of ways I can improve my photos in term of the accessories I use. If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know the famous marble tray is no more. Sob sob! I now have brand new box-tray things, yay! And I also have a few other ideas up my sleeve too – watch this space! On the back of this I thought it would be handy to put together a list of popular accessory ideas to give others a bit of inspiration…

rosy

1. Flowers. Ok so personally I’m not really that into flowers aesthetically, but they can make an otherwise fairly plain and boring background look pretty and colourful. You could have some laying next to your products in a flat-lay set out, standing up in a vase, out of focus in the background. The possibilities really are are endless when it comes to flowers! Of course fresh is always going to be best, but this can work out pretty expensive in the long run. I’d recommend investing in some decent quality fake flowers that will last you for a very long time. (Image from )

2. Plates, bowls and trays. The ring dish and of course marble tray seem to be quite popular photography accessories at the moment, but what about placing your products on a colourful bowl? Or a cute little plate? There are loads of similar alternatives available, just take a look around the net and see what takes your fancy! I think trays are probably my favourite accessory right now, they just add a bit of interest and you can play around a lot with placing products in them.

3. Jewellery. Following on from ring dishes, jewellery can be a great accessory to add to photos. I’m having a bit of a rose gold theme at the moment and often include my Michael Kors rose gold watch (I’m pretty sure every blogger owns one of these, right!?) one of my favourite bracelets and sometimes a pretty rose gold necklace with a swallow pendant. I complement these with my pink and rose gold Zoeva brushes too. Why not try picking out some of your favourite jewellery and practice placing it in your photos, it’s easy once you figure out what works for you. (Image from )

washi jars

4. Washi tape. I LOVE washi tape, but just haven’t got round to using mine yet. If you’re not sure what it is you can check out my post on washi tape ideas here. It can be used in literally zillions of ways – stick it on a wipe clean surface such as kitchen floors to add interest to an otherwise boring background. Use it on your plain makeup storage jars to jazz them up a bit. Take a look on Pinterest too for loads of washi tape ideas.

5. Magazines. Another popular, easy and inexpensive idea. Open a fashion magazine to a particularly nice shot and use this as a background. easy peasy! Loads of bloggers do this already as it’s really simple and effective. Sprinkle some jewellery on the page too to add further interest. (Image from )

6. Wallpaper and fabric samples. You can get samples of wallpapers either for free or for next to nothing from so many places these days. I have a few which I’ll be featuring in an upcoming post. Take a look in your local DIY store, grab a load of samples and practice setting up your products on them to see which works for you.

7. Clippings and cuttings. So this is what I’ve been doing for a while now, and it really couldn’t be easier, I bought a roll of shiny, iridescent paper from ebay and literally just chopped out a load of tiny triangles and sprinkled them around the products I was photographing. It couldn’t be any easier! You could also do this with a pretty paper or card.

8. Candles, pots and vases. An obvious choice, candles especially are a beauty blogger’s favourite background accessory! Again the options are limitless, take a look in your local charity shops to pick out some more unusual options too!

I hope this has given you some inspiration! Let me know if you have any other accessory ideas! And massive thanks to the bloggers who have let me include some of their fantastic images in this post!

Marble Tray, We Need To Talk…

Posted on July 13, 2015

La-Prairie-Anti-Aging-Rapid-Response-Booster

Dear Marble Tray,

We’ve been together for quite a few months now, and things really have been going great, but I think it’s time we talked.

I knew from the start that we were never going to be exclusive, I was always aware of this, but lately it seems like I can’t open my Bloglovin or Twitter without seeing that you’ve been everywhere. You’re with so many other bloggers, they’re all using you. I’s not that I’m jealous, but I don’t think this is good for our relationship.

I know it’s not your fault, you can’t help being so popular! You’re just the right size, affordable, with a pretty subtle pattern – the perfect accessory for blog photos. But I just don’t think we can do this any more. The same goes for your friends – Small Marble Tray and Marble Pot. I’m sorry. I hope you understand?

L'OCCITANE-Pivoine-Sublime-Collection

I think it’s only fair I let you know that I’ve now found some new accessories – that aren’t quite so… promiscuous shall we say. Like I said you haven’t done anything wrong, it’s me not you. I just don’t feel like we’re a good match any more and I need a fresh start. This is the end of the road for us.

So long Marble Tray, it was fun while it lasted xxx

ASOS Accessories Sale Haul!

Posted on July 1, 2015

asos-sale-picks

Hi Guys!

Ooh I do love a good bargain, and I’m pretty much guaranteed to grab something from ASOS’s regular sales every single time. They have SO MANY things on offer, from fashion, to accessories, to gifts to stationery (I actually just picked up some gorgeous stationery bits the other day!)

I’ve been part of Access All ASOS for a while now and they’ve kindly given me a £50 voucher to shop the sale – woo hoo! £50 isn’t really that much to go shopping with these days, but when there’s a sale on I think I’ll be able to grab quite a few bargains! I originally had my sites set on beauty, accessories and possibly shoes…

asos-sale-stationery

Ok so you can see I didn’t end up picking up and beauty items, or shoes for that matter! Shoe shopping online can be a bit problematic for me as I’m a 5.5 so shoes often end up not fitting well. I decided to stay safe and went for accessories and stationery this time instead! Oh and I did cheat a little bit… the sale actually started on Monday at 8am, but as I’m part of ASOS Premier, ASOS often email their Premier customers with sale previews, so I sorted the whole of the sale into price order with cheapest first on Sunday evening (obv so I could get the best bargains) and added everything to my save list that I liked the look of. Then when Monday morning came I was all ready to purchase 😀

Here’s what I picked up!

  • (£13.00 not in sale)
  • (£19.99 not in sale)
  • (£4.00)
  • (£7.00)
  • Stance Twister Block Socks (£8.00)
  • (£4.00)
  • (£6.00)
  •  (£3.50)
  •  (£3.50)
  •  (£19.50)

asos-sale-bracelet

I’m a bit of a magpie and ended up with quite a lot of jewellery, but I snapped up some fantastic bargains – the Gorjana bracelet for example was originally £95, and I got it for less than £20! I’d also highly recommend signing up to ASOS Premier, it’s only £10 for a years’ subscription and you receive free next day delivery with all orders, no matter how small, as well as free courier collection returns – saving you going to the post office, and not forgetting sale previews so you get the best picks of the sale before all the good stuff sells out!

I’m really pleased with my haul, I hope you enjoyed my post and I’d love to hear if you picked up anything in the ASOS sale? xxx
