Vera La Lune Cards and Prints

Vera-La-Lune-Cards-and-Prints

Hi Guys!

I’ve got some fabulous cards and artwork to show you this morning from etsy store Vera La Lune.

Vera La Lune is a small, family run business that creates stationery and home décor products. The shop name ‘Vera la lune’ was inspired by founder, Rebecca’s grandmother’s name ‘Vera’ and her love of the moon and the night sky – what a lovely concept! (I love this especially because my Nanny was also called Vera too!)

Vera La Lune’s cards are just beautiful. They’re of course perfect for giving as cards, but also for framing and giving as gifts. Quotes such as ‘Throw kindness around like confetti’ and ‘What if I fall?, ‘Oh but my darling, what if you fly?’ are printed on fabulous quality card to give a luxe feel to the products. Unfortunately I was quite limited for frames at my local shops, but I managed to find a decent enough A4 one to display the print. The smaller A5 cards would look great displayed in pretty frames and they’d make perfect Christmas gifts too!

And this has to be one of my favourites – the Elf quote card! Elf is officially my favourite ever Christmas film, I just love it so much, and this card would be perfect for any fan!

I’d highly recommend checking out Vera La Lune if you’re looking for special cards and gifts, for christmas or any other occasion. I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

An Unplanned Break…

Posted on October 25, 2015

blogging-break

Hi Guys!

So this is my first post in a just over a week, and it’s definitely felt strange not blogging for this length of time, but I feel so much better (in many ways) for taking a break.

This break was very much un-planned. It just kind of happened. I started off coming down with a horrible cold about a week and a half ago. You know the type where you just feel terrible in the build up, and you know you’re going to end up with a severe case of man flu! I then went to the Suffolk Blogger Meet in Bury St Edmunds last weekend (my post will be coming up soon) and had a very busy day in London on Wednesday. I was still pretty ill but managed to hold it together and reach all my appointments on time – yay! I didn’t get home till 1.30am the next morning though, so I felt really rough again on Thursday – serves me right hey! Anyway, I’ve basically had and still have a horrible case of man flu, with that, travelling, it’s now half term, and I’ve been trying to sort out my new writing and photography area, the total has accumulated to me having a good week off from writing.

My initial thoughts on this could definitely be described as a light form of panic –

‘Oh no, I haven’t blogged…!’

‘and I have so many posts to write…’

“I must apologise to my readers…’

‘…and what about my stats!?’

Etc etc. You know how it goes, that dreaded feeling of doom and guilt all bloggers have whenever we have more than a day off. Then after a while I realised that none of this really matters.

Posts can be caught up with, readers very rarely notice let alone comment if a blogger has been absent for a while, and my stats are absolutely fine.

I think it’s really common for bloggers to not allow themselves a break, and ‘blogger burnout’ is a very real thing that many of us have to deal with at some point. I for one definitely feel so much better for taking a week off. So if you need some time to yourself, just do it. Seriously, the world isn’t going to come to an end because you didn’t publish a post for a while.

On a more exciting note, I’ve got lots of awesome things coming up on the blog – including new beauty products, Christmassy gift ideas, lifestyle posts and much more. I’ve included some of the gorgeous beauty products in the image above just to give you a little taster. I’ll also be showing you very soon my new blogging area which I’ve just set up in my kitchen (I just noticed on the above pic you can see the reflection of my dishwasher in one of the palettes, ha ha!)

So please do stick around to check these out, and I hope you enjoyed my post xxx

Hi Guys!

I appear to be having a bit of a stationery obsession at the moment, so when the team from Too Wrapped Up ed me asking if I’d like to share some of their products with you guys, well I just couldn’t say no! 😀

Too Wrapped Up are a fantastic one stop shop for original gifts, cards and wrapping paper, especially curated for creative types who love gifting but are just a bit too short on time to trawl around the shops. Their aim is to ‘bring you super stuff at reasonable prices from the best new designers to inspire your gifting.’

As you can see above, they also wrap your gifts in beautiful wrapping paper which is handpicked especially to match your purchase, which I think is a lovely touch!

They kindly sent over the Creatures of the North Notebook (£7.00) and the Good Stationery Set (£12.00)

The Creatures of the North Notebook is a gorgeous chunky A5 notebook by Stormy Knight, featuring a repeat pattern of eight super sweet Nordic creatures, including a fox, a brown bear, a bison, a moose, an arctic fox, a lynx, a reindeer and a wolf. This notebook is made of 100% recycled manilla card cover and contains 100 lined pages on FSC approved paper.

Next up is the GOOD Stationery Set by The Green Gables. Now this is not just one item, it’s a whole stationery set… ooohh! Included is a lovely A5 Kraft cover notebook, four A6 printed note cards with envelopes, a sheet of 15 stickers, and a pencil with an eraser and a metal pencil sharpener. Which really is a complete bargain for £12.00! It’s also lovely to know that the A5 notebook, note cards and envelopes are all made with recycled paper, and the pencil is made in Britain with wood from responsibly managed forests.

I should also point out that this set is made by The Green Gables, who work with the Fresh Start Foundation to supply children in The Gambia with the equipment they need to study and build a better future for themselves. On purchasing this set, The Green Gables will make sure a child in The Gambia will receive a school stationery kit including two exercise books (paper is very expensive in The Gambia), a pencil with eraser and a pencil sharpener. Amazing!

Stationery Just Got Sexy…

Posted on July 29, 2015

stationery just got sexy_edited-1

Hi Guys!

Ok so I’ve been on a complete stationery binge lately, and there really is no better word to describe it than a BINGE. I’ve been so good for ages (and by ages I mean weeks) only window shopping and not actually buying anything, then the other day I just snapped, and I bought ALL THE THINGS. Which haven’t actually arrived yet, so I’ll post about them when they do! Apart from makeup, stationery is something I really just can’t help buying. I love anything that’s brightly coloured, patterned, gold and while. Any combination of these features and I’m pretty much guaranteed to buy it! Even though I already have pens and pencils and notepads coming out of my ears, as soon as I see a pretty new stationery product I HAVE TO BUY IT. I’m sure I’m not the only blogger that has this problem, so if you’re like me, please feel free to tell me all about your stationery addiction too in the comments so I don’t feel so bad 🙂

So on my latest stationery hunt, I discovered quite a few awesome brands, including Kate Spade, Hay and ban.do to name but a few. I thought I’d put together a little wish list so I could share some of my lustings with you…

  • Good Ideas Notebook Set by ban.do

Do any of these gorgeous goodies take your fancy? Let me know what you think!

Kiss Air Candles Ice Cream Parlour Collection

Posted on June 3, 2015

kiss-air-candles-review

Hi Guys!

You know I’m a massive candle fan, so I was really excited when these beautiful Kiss Air Candles landed on my doorstep! Kiss Air have just launched their latest collection – Ice Cream Parlour, and they really do sound good enough to eat!

Kiss-Air Candles are handmade in Cambridgeshire using natural soy wax and presented in gold tins, wrapped in Kiss-Air’s signature bow packaging. Their large candles are a decent size (though I can’t see the weight on the packaging) and they burn up to 30 hours each.

kiss-air-candles-ice-cream-parlour

Ice Cream Parlour features five scented candles inspired by popular summer treats…

  • Rum & Raisin ~ an appetising scent beginning with top notes of rum and raisins; followed by notes of butterscotch, caramel and maple syrup.
  • Salted Caramel ~ a delectable fragrance with top notes of sweetened creamed butter and sea salt; followed by caramel all sitting on base of vanilla and sweetened condensed milk.
  • Mango Sorbet ~ a refreshing blend of ripe mango, lemons and juicy raspberries.
  • Black Cherry ~ a delicious aroma of sweet black cherries.
  • Mint Choc Chip ~ a mouth-watering fragrance of peppermint with a twist of bitter chocolate chips.

I have Rum & Raisin and Mango Sorbet, and I love them both even though their completely different scents. Rum & Raisin just smells so edible! It’s super sweet and has an almost cookie dough element to it. I’ve just started burning this one and it’s making my house smell amazing! Mango Sorbet is a fresher, more citrusy scent, it’s still very sweet though and I think it would be perfect to burn on a summers evening. If you’re a fan of sweet scents I’d definitely recommend you snap some of these fabulous candles up!

The Ice Cream Parlour candles are £8.50 each and the collection is now available to buy from Kiss Air Candles

Katie Leamon Luxury Cards & Stationery + Discount Code

katie-leamon-monochrome-stationery

Hi Guys!

Stationery has always been one of my major loves, I actually used to have recurring dreams as a child about a fantasy stationery shop that had wall to ceiling pens and pencils, and I had to climb up a ladder to reach everything, it was amazing! I also remember as a child going to the supermarket with my parents on a Friday evening and I’d always pester for a treat, which would usually end up being some sort of eraser or gel pen set, this was just heaven to me! These days though, I like to think my taste is slightly more refined. I have a fancy Filofax leather organiser and I’m quite partial to a posh pen and notebook too, and now I’ve got my mitts on these gorgeous new goodies…

katie-leamon-stationery

This is the new Monochrome collection from luxury card and stationery designer Katie Leamon, and it’s just gorgeous! I have a polkadot notebook, zig-zag gift wrap and tags, and a selection of greeting cards to share with you today.

The brand Katie Leamon launched in 2011, it’s a reflection of Katie’s love of typography, stationery and vintage curiosities, and it aims to deliver beautiful designs that evoke a sense of nostalgia. The products are simple yet stunning, and I love that they’re predominantly hand printed using individual rubber stamps on top quality papers and cards – this means each product is unique and you can really see the human touch in the finish that runs throughout the brand.

This beautiful new collection features gold-foiled typography designs, monochrome patterns and hand printed, original illustrations. I can’t tell you how much I love everything! The notebook is probably my favourite though (I must admit I do have a bit of a notebook fetish, but that’s normal right??) It’s just so simple and to the point, with such a high quality finish, I think anyone would love it. The greetings cards all come with simple phrases such as ‘Thank You’ or ‘Hello’ leaving you to personalise the inside of the card yourself. I’m also a fan of the recycled paper envelopes that contrast well with the monochrome patterns.

The Monochrome collection starts from £3.50 for a greetings card, and Katie Leamon have also kindly given me a discount code for you guys, you can get 10% off your order with code: TSNC10, this will run for one week from 08/05/15 – 15/05/15.

I’d love to hear what you think of this stationery? I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
