Fragrance: Eau De Lacoste L.12.12 Pour Elle Trio

EAU-DE-LACOSTE-L.12.12-Pour-Elle-trio-of-fragrances

Hi Guys!

I have some gorgeous fragrances from Lacoste to share with you today! The iconic Lacoste pleated skirt has inspired their latest Eau De Lacoste L.12.12 Pour Elle trio of fragrances, which have been designed to reflect the three moods of the Lacoste woman: Natural, Elegant, and Sparklingly playful.

I know it may sound a little odd having a set of fragrances inspired by a skirt, but when you look at what this classic garment represents, it actually makes complete sense – the pleated skirt is instantly recognisable and synonymous with the Lacoste brand, as well as a constant garment within Lacoste’s collections.

A pleated skirt can be given a unique twist according to the woman wearing it. This freedom of expression also applies to the fragrances, which reflect three facets of the LACOSTE woman. Around a shared floral jasmine note echoing the timeless feel of a LACOSTE piece, three lively scent structures reflect very different moods – Elegant, Sparkling and Natural – to suit the wearer and the moment.

So let’s take a look at the fragrances –

Starting with L.12.12 Pour Elle – Elegant. This fragrance is described as effortless, confident, and classic, but also fresh and relevant. It contains citrus oils, cassis bud and pink pepper to give an instant feel of brightness, mellowed by soft and feminine mimosa at the heart. Vetiver at the base is warm and sensual, whilst adding a touch of masculinity to the scent.

Next we have L.12.12 Pour Elle – SparklingSuper girly, sweet and playful, this fragrance is a definite nod towards Lacoste’s French roots with the noticeably sweet note of macaron at the heart. Top notes of fruit and spice provide glittering sparkle with an edge, while patchouli adds sophistication to the base.

And lastly L.12.12 Pour Elle – Natural. Described as uplifting, authentic, and warm – this is quite a clean and fresh scent, much like wearing freshly washed clothes. It contains notes of warming coconut accord with raspberry leaves, mandarin and pineapple, and the powdery notes of orris give a long-lasting base to this otherwise fresh and light scent.

Overall these are a gorgeous trio of fragrances that are also very reasonably priced – I also love the sweet addition of the embroidered Lacoste crocodile logo on the bottles 🙂

The Eau De Lacoste L.12.12 Pour Elle collection are priced from £30.00 for a 30ml bottle at  now.

I’ve Won An Award!! (And Thank You!)

Posted on August 9, 2016

photography-star-award

Hi Guys!

Finally, I’ve got round to photographing my award! But just in case you have no idea what I’m talking about, I was nominated for not one but four amazing awards in the – and I’m still not over even being nominated if I’m honest! But let me tell the story from the beginning…

So when I found out I was nominated four four awards, I pretty much nearly fell over in shock. I’ve never been nominated for anything before so I was like 😀 😀 😀 for about three days straight. I then planned my trip to the awards ceremony in London, and when the day of the awards came I had a major panic as I realised I had nothing to wear – and when I say I panicked, I meant I was actually having really bad anxiety and considered not going because I was stressing out so much. In the end I knew there wasn’t actually a dress code for the ‘do’, so I decided I’d rather be comfortable and actually be there, so I threw on my trusty old denim shirt and hopped on the train to London…

30--photography-award

I arrived super early to the venue, and ended up being banished to a corner of the room so I wouldn’t accidentally see any of the awards while the room was being set up 😀

Then the evening started, and I was SO excited to see some of my favourite blogger friends who had also been nominated (you know who you are!) and it was great catching up with everyone. Then the awards started…

Well, talk about nerve wracking! I honestly didn’t think I’d actually win anything. The bloggers in each category were amazing and I couldn’t even believe I’d been nominated along with them. I mean I was in the same category as Caroline Hirons for God’s sake!

And then I couldn’t believe it, my name was called – I’d only gone and won the Highly Commended award for Photography! All I remember is thinking *don’t trip up, don’t trip up* as I was walking down the stairs and onto the stage!

photography-star-award-30-

So yeah, I have an award, and I still can’t quite believe it. I’m not sure where to put it yet but I’ll definitely have it on display somewhere in the house. The whole evening was fabulous – the wine flowed just as well as the conversation, and I only just managed to catch my train home with a couple of minutes to spare – oops!

So I just wanted to say thank you so SO much to everyone that voted for me at the very beginning of the awards, as well as everyone that then nominated me and also just thank you for reading my blog in the first place. I never in a million years thought I’d end up winning an award. And of course congratulations to all the other amazing bloggers that won awards too – you guys are awesome!

And also a massive thank you to Hayley and Rebecca from the 30 Plus Collective for all their hard work, as well at The Body Shop who sponsored the awards. Roll on the 30 Plus Awards 2017! 😀

Cohorted July 2016 Beauty Box Review

cohorted-july-2016-review

Hi Guys!

I’m a bit late with this one but I finally have Cohorted’s July box to share with you – and in my opinion it’s one of their best yet! Let’s take a look inside the box –

  • NARS Monoi Body Glow 2, worth £25.00.
  • HD Brows Sculpt & Glow Palette, worth £45.00.
  • Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil, worth £10.00.
  • Vintage Cosmetics Company Blending Sponge, worth £5.95.
  • Bellapierre Mineral Lipstick in Envy, worth £17.05.
  • Bellapierre Waterproof Gel Lipliner in Cinnamon, worth £17.05.

Total value of box = £120.05. WOW! So this box is basically worth a fortune, and includes some fantastic sounding products…

The NARS Monoi Body Glow 2 is a lightweight, multipurpose oil, with the most gorgeous warm tropical fragrance – it just smells like holiday! It contains Monoï de Tahiti oil infused with a variety of nutrients, to leave skin glowing, hydrated and radiant. The bottle also contains a sweet little tiare flower for an added element of luxury.

Next, the HD Brows Sculpt & Glow Palette – this handy palette contains two easy to use shades to contour and highlight the face. It promises to create a naturally highlighted effect that will leave the face looking radiant and illuminated. It’s also infused with Argan Oil to deliver moisture to the complexion, whilst remaining gentle to the skin.

The Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil is described as an indulgent way to cleanse skin, containing a blend of Jasmine Flower Extract, Kukui Nut Oil and botanical oils it dissolves surface impurities and makeup without disrupting the skin’s natural balance. Leaving skin feeling soothed, supple and comfortable.

The Vintage Cosmetics Company Blending Sponge – just like a Beauty Blender, the Vintage Cosmetics Company Blending Sponge promises to help you apply makeup such as foundation, concealer and highlighter with ease, giving a flawless, no-streak finish. The sponge is also infused with Vitamin E, which is renowned for its moisturising properties.

And the Bellapierre Mineral Lipstick in Envy is the most gorgeous muted dusky rose shade – this really caught my eye just because the colour is so beautiful! The lipstick formula contains a blend of iron oxides with vitamins C and E to protect and moisturise lips, while the natural mineral pigments and waxes allow the colour to glide on effortlessly for a smooth and long-lasting finish.

And lastly, the Bellapierre Waterproof Gel Lipliner in Cinnamon – this is a waterproof lip pencil with a creamy texture, formulated with minerals, natural waxes, and antioxidants to give perfect definition, that you can apply with ease.

There are also six single eyeshadows in the collection. I have Bowlarama which is an intense lime green with a satin finish. Now I know this shade does look a bit out there, but you can easily sheer it out for a hint of colour, or of course wear it applied layered up if you’re feeling daring!

The Pearlmatte Face Powder (£24.00) has to be my favourite product though. Trophy has a fun skittles and bowling ball design, and this powder really does give the most beautiful sheen to the skin. Trophy contains four pearlmatte shades (top to bottom swatches above)  – a light lime green, a bright white, and a mid pink, which when swirled together, give a lovely light pink toned pearlmatte finish (bottom swatch)

Nude By Nature Highlight and Contour Collection

Nude-By-Nature-Highlight-and-Contour-Collection

Hi Guys!

Today I’d like to introduce the NEW Nude by Nature Contour & Highlight Collection; a set of must-have products to embrace and define your natural features…

Nude By Nature is Australia’s number one mineral make-up brand, promising ‘make-up that’s good for you’. Their latest products are formulated with powerful ingredients, such as native Australian Kakadu Plum, containing the world’s highest dose of Vitamin C, and Quandong and Cehami Extract, renowned for their renewing and hydrating effects.

nude-by-nature-primer-and-illuminator

Let’s start by looking at the Perfecting Primer (£22.00) and Sheer Light Illuminator (£18.00). The Perfecting Primer is a really nice lightweight matte finish primer, which gives a great base for makeup, helping it to stay put all day. The Sheer Light Illuminator is a lovely light golden toned illuminator, which works well on it’s own, or mixed in with foundation to brighten the complexion and give a subtle glow.

Next the Contour Palette (£25.00) – this palette contains three matte shades especially selected to contour and sculpt the face. The deepest shade is perfect for contouring and defining features, such as the cheekbones, jaw and nose, the middle shade is a fab matte bronzer with you can literally use anywhere you want to look bronzed and glowy, and the lightest shade is a matte highlight. The shades of all three products are really nice and will suit most fair to mid toned complexions.

And the beautiful Highlight Palette (£25.00) – similar to the contour palette, this contains three shades of powder highlighter in generous sized pans. There’s a bronze shade to add warmth and definition to the complexion, a rose shade to add radiance, and a champagne to illuminate and highlight.

Personally as I’m pretty fair, I don’t think I’d get much use out of the bronze shade as a highlighter – but as an eyeshadow? YES! It’s a gorgeous warm orangey bronze and just looks fabulous with blue eyes!

And lastly, as you can never have enough highlighters, for fans of a cream formula, Nude By Nature also have a trio of Touch of Glow Highlight Sticks (£18.00 each) – these highlighter sticks are super easy to use, you just twist up, apply, blend with fingers and Bob’s your uncle. They have a glide-on cream-to-powder formula which gives a beautiful light reflecting sheen which can easily be worn sheer for a hint of glow, or built up for more intense colour.

If you’re a fan of contouring and highlighting, I’d definitely recommend you check out this collection!
