Happy Monday! You’ve probably noticed I’ve been trying out a few gorgeous L’Occitane products lately (please check out my Almond Velvet Duo and Pivoine Sublime Collection posts if you missed them) but Figuier & Osmanthus is my very first experience of L’Occitane’s fragrances, and I’m definitely in love! This is a brand new and limited edition perfume designed exclusively to celebrate L’Occitane’s 2015 Chelsea Flower Show Garden – ‘A Perfumer’s Garden in Grasse’.
Figuier & Osmanthus is L’Occitane’s newest addition to their La Collection De Grasse fragrance range, which are inspired by and named after the famous town of Grasse in the South of France. Their Chelsea Flower Show garden – which is open from 19th – 23rd May – will bring to life the sights and scents of Grasse ‘the world capital of perfumery’ with the help of garden designer James Basson.
Figuier & Osmanthus is a beautiful fresh, floral and fruity fragrance that captures the essence of Provencal summertime and the spirit of Grasse by uniting the sun-warmed fig tree from Provence with sparkling osmanthus flowers from the Far East. The fragrance opens with notes of bergamot and blackcurrant, paired with a ripe fruity fig. The heart reveals another facet of the fig through its green leaves, heightened by apricot tinted notes of the Osmanthus flower. A warm base rounds off this delicious scent and leaves behind a woody trail of cedar and musk.
On initial application, this fragrance smells very green, and has definite elements of cut grass. When it dries down though, a lovely warm fruity floral comes through that just reminds me of a beautiful summer’s day. This scent is surprising, unique and delicate, and completely reasonable at £28 for 30ml, I’d highly recommend this of you’re on the hunt for a new summer scent.
Figuier & Osmanthus eau de toilette will be launching at L’Occitane later on in May.
I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any L’Occitane fragrances and which you;d recommend? I think I definitely need to try some more of them now! I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
