I know I know, MAC Alluring Aquatic is and has been all over the blogosphere lately, I’ve had these products since they were first released and I thought maybe it’s a bit late for blogging now, but I completely and totally love these products, I have to tell you about them! I treated myself to only a few bits from the collection (very restrained, I know) and I’m so glad I snapped them up before they all sold out! I went for the Extra Dimension Bronzer in Delphic, Extra Dimension Blush in Seduced at Sea, Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Loreieli and Lip Glass in Clear Water.
Firstly I’m going to have to talk about the packaging, oh the packaging! The casings are a gorgeous metallic aqua blue, with fantastic life-like 3D ‘water droplets’ all over them. It looks just like water. This is definitely one of the best MAC collection packagings I’ve seen.
First up we have the Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Loreieli. This is such a stunning colour. It’s a shimmery golden beige that makes me think of summer and heat and tanned skin! This is one of six limited edition Extra Dimension Eyeshadows in this collection, and I have to say I can’t fault it at all. The texture is smooth and soft, easily blendable and easily buildable. It lasted all day and I’m very happy with it!
Next is the Extra Dimension Bronzer in Delphic. This is described as a soft brick tan with a touch of shimmer. I completely love this bronzer! Yet another product that’s perfect for the summer months, this bronzer gives you a gorgeous warm colour, with a hint of golden shimmer that creates a lovely healthy glow to the cheeks. The formula is on the sheer side but I like this as you can build up the layers for a stronger look if required. Again it lasted all day on me, so this is definitely a keeper!
Extra Dimension Blush in Seduced at Sea, is described as a mid-tone neutral plum. I’d say it’s quite orangey pink, with a light golden shimmer really. Again a great pretty summer colour that gives your complexion a luminous glow. The formula is spot on, easily blendable and buildable, and again lasted the whole day.
The Clear Water Lipglass is described as a sheer nude with multidimensional pearl. It’s a clear gloss with a fabulous shimmer and sparkle that creates a multi-dimensional look. I have to admit I didn’t expect to be too excited by this gloss but I really was wowed, the shimmery sparkle catches the light and you can see hints of silver, beige and pink in there – I’m afraid my pictures really do not do this gloss justice!
And here is the look I made using these products. I’m really happy with it! This collection is perfect for a natural, luminous sun-kissed look. The extra dimension blush and bronzer definitely give a glow – without shine or sparkle. I’m so glad I took the plunge and bought these!
Just in case anyone’s interested – I also used the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette, Barry M Wink Precision Eyeliner, Benefit They’re Real Mascara, Dior Hydra Life BB Cream and Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in this look. (p.s, I can’t wait to get my new snazzy light set up so I can take awesome photos soon!)
I hope you enjoyed my post xxx
