Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review and Swatches!

Posted on November 22, 2013

Hi Guys!

I’m really excited to have gotten my mitts on a Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, yay! It’s one of the ones that was accidentally released early, and now it’s all mine! I know everyone’s dying to try this out so I feel very priveliged and excited to share my review with you 🙂

As you probably know, the latest palette is full of rose-hued neutral shadows, in matte, pearl, shimmer and metallic finishes, ranging from a pale neutral pink to a sparkly matte black. These colours are all brand new shades from Urban Decay, and if you love rose gold like I do, I think they’ll be right up your street!

So from the beginning, the palette comes in this lovely box, with the Naked 3 logo in gold.

The back of the box gives you a bit more detail about the shadows –

The Naked 3 Palette also includes a double-ended shadow/blending brush and eyeshadow primer potion samples including one each of the four formulas (original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Aging) Each sample holds a week’s worth of primer so it’s awesome freebie!

As you can see this is a great range of rose-tinted neutrals, with a good mix of finishes so you can create endless looks! My favourite has to be Blackheart, I love the rose pink sparkles!

As expected, the shadows were fabulous to use, the pigment is very fine and it blends excellently.

I actually love this palette! I own the Naked Basics (which I used every day) and the Naked 2 which I use occasionally, but this is definitely my new favourite! I can’t wait to try this out for a night out!

I’ve heard on the grapevine that the Naked 3 Palette should be released in the UK around mid December, so only a few more weeks to go!

I hope you enjoyed my review 🙂 xxx

Biggley Jewellery Quirky Silver Ring Pull Necklace!

Posted on November 20, 2013

Hi Guys!

Today I thought I’d show you a closer look at the awesomely quirky silver ring pull necklace I wore in this outfit post last week. I just love unusual jewellery, it catches the eye and creates a great talking point! This necklace is from a company called Biggley, who comprise of a small team of jewellery makers and designers. They design and craft all their own pieces by hand, often in sterling silver, with hints of gold and semi-precious gem stones.

The ring pull is hand crafted in sterling silver and suspended on a pink necklace that ties at the back. It’s solid and substantial to touch, it’s also moveable so you can even twist it round like you would a real ring pull 🙂 I love the idea that the ring pull isn’t fixed to the necklace, so I could remove it and wear it on a silver chain if I wanted to change my look.

Biggley sell many other lovely pieces which would make great Christmas gifts, one of my favourites being this Twisted Americana ring!

Do you have any jewellery on your Christmas list? I hope you enjoyed my post 🙂 xxx

Hard Candy Beetle Nail Polish Review

Posted on

Hi Guys!

Today I have a review for you of the awesome ‘Beetle’ nail polish by Hard Candy*. I haven’t actually used Hard Candy polishes for years, I remember going into Boots to check out their Hard Candy and Urban Decay makeup many moons ago in the late 90’s (I think!) when they were pretty new indie brands. I did treat myself to a Hard Candy polish and lipstick which were very expensive, and I loved them!

Beetle is a gorgeous metallic polychrome polish that flashes different colours when it catches the light. You get hints of bronze, deep reddish purple and flashes of green.

I love this polish, it has the most gorgeous iridescent effect to it! The effect really does remind me of the way a dogbane beetle catches the light! (though it is a different colour :))

dogbane beetle

This polish took three layers to reach the desired opacity. When I applied the first coat I was a bit worried the polish would be too sheer, but after the third coat I was very satisfied. The brush isn’t amazing, it could do with being slightly bigger but it was fine to use. (Sorry my nails aren’t in the best condition, after having professional gel polish done for my wedding they’ve been in really bad shape and keep splitting, hence the odd shape of my thumb nail as both of them have split across the middle!)

If you’re not familiar with Hard Candy, one of the best things about this brand is with every bottle of nail polish you receive a ring! It’s just a plastic novelty ring over the bottle top but I think it’s a lovely touch and such a fun idea! Each ring matches the colour of the polish too 🙂

If you love this colour or are interested in other Hard Candy polishes, they are super cheap now and can be purchased from Xtras Accessories here.

The Jewel Addict Blue Moon Statement Necklace

Posted on November 19, 2013

Hi Guys!

Today I thought I’d show you in a bit more detail my awesome new statement necklace from my last outfit post here.

This necklace is from The Jewel Addict, I love the idea behind the name; I hadn’t really given it too much thought but then my parcel turned up, I opened up the silver packaging to find a parcel wrapped up in black tissue paper with a sticker imitating the label on a prescription medicine, I thought this was a really fun touch!

I have the Blue Moon necklace, the chain has an antique gold finish and the gem stones are clear, turquoise and opaque purple, I love these colours together!

I really have a thing about statement jewellery, and this ticks all the boxes for me. As an added bonus everything on the site is only £5 each! Awesome!

Do you love statement jewellery like I do? I’d love to hear what you think!

I hope you enjoyed my post 🙂 xxx

I’ve decided to go for a bit more of a punky feel with leather look trousers and a faux fur jacket – I love the contrast in textures. I’ve also added lots of gold detailing for a luxe finish.

ASOS House of Hackney Exclusive Preview!

Posted on November 16, 2013

Hi Guys!

Today I thought I’d let you know about ASOS’s latest collaboration with East London label House of Hackney. As an ASOS Insider we get exclusive access and previews of up and coming collections, which I can share with you guys! How cool is that!

‘The interiors-led fashion brand mixes traditional prints with bold, non-conformist designs to pack a serious fashion punch. Launching end of November, ‘Dalston Tart’, the new House of Hackney x ASOS 18-piece collection will mix House of Hackney’s signature London Rose print with the punk sensibility of tartan, keeping silhouettes youthful and minimalist.’

I love the contrasting combination of floral prints and tartan, hand on heart I previouly haven’t been a fan of tartan, but I actually love the edgy look of this collection!

Here are some if my favourite images from the lookbook –
